Feeling sad

Feeling sad

Started spotting this afternoon 🥺. I knew I was on the cliff of AF arriving, why am I so rocked by it becoming a reality (again) 🤦‍♀️

Trying not to spiral, bracing myself for the fallout 🥲😢

Two temp drops, not looking so good 😭. Yesterday I had my collection of 'day before AF' symptoms. I suspect she'll arrive within the next two days (short LP). Will keep praying and praying 🙏🏼

If your husband travels a lot, how do you entertain your babies in the evening?

My husband is military so he is away a fair bit. We have an 11-month old. When he wakes up from his nap ~3pm, I know I have about 4hrs to fill without the excitement of Dadda coming home 🥲. I'm managing to make it work, but starting to feel the struggle of finding things to do towards the end of the day. Often my baby just wants to be held until dinner time 😢 (he's big too, RIP my back)

It's winter where we live which doesn't make it easy (its dark outside by 5pm)

Which old wives tale had you convinced that thia month is ~the month~? A fun thread!

The day before and the day of ovulation this month, my son looked at me through his legs. The old wives tale says this means he's 'looking for his sibling'. Am I trying not to hold onto this as a sign? Absolutely 🤣. Am I winning? No 🫠

What old wives tales have had you convinced this month was ~the month~?

When does your fertile CM typically disappear?

I noticed this month that my ewcm was completely gone on my estimated ovulation day. Looking back at my charts, this is normal for me! It seems counterintuitive though? What pattern do you normally see with your cycle?

I oscillated between watery and ewcm for over a week prior to ovulation, then the day of it seemed to be gone. I usually get fertile CM for 4-5 days prior. This month was particularly drawn out 😅

CD22 looking promising for ovulation?

I had a nearly, and possibly, positive OPK on CD21. I didn't log it because I wasn't 100% sure and it went positive in the evening anyway. Is CD22 looking the most likely?

So much nothing 🫠

I only started temping again this month (Tempdrop). Fertile signs for 7+days now, but, absolutely nothing else! LH is barely existent, temps remain low. Argh.

Low temps with tempdrop? (Delayed ovulation)

Hosting a winter 1st birthday party - sicknesses?

Is it rude and unhinged to note on a birthday invite to gently say 'stay home and rest if you're unwell'?

We have a few friends who attend events when their kids are clearly sick, whether its a cold or conjunctivitis 🤦‍♀️. I know hosting a winter party comes with the inevitable risk of exposure to colds and such. I'm wondering if it's socially acceptable to pop a little note on the invite to encourage only healthy people to attend?

Waiting to ovulate SUCKS 🫠! How are we passing the time?

Waiting 3-4 entire weeks just to ovulate is the most draining part of each cycle for me. This month it's really grinding my gears 😭

Late ovulators - what do you do to pass the time?

I'm longing for the TWW just so I can breath a bit knowing we've done what we can for another month 🤦‍♀️

To drop the morning or bedtime feed first?

Bub is 11mo, we're transitioning to fully weaning by 12mo (4 weeks away).

He breastfeeds upon waking and at bedtime, but doesn't need the bedtime feed to fall asleep.

Which feed would you drop first?

Thank you!

Supply tanking dropping down to 2 breastfeeds?

Since dropping to 2 feeds, I've noticed my supply absolutely plummet. Bedtime is in about 45mins and after 11+hrs of no breastfeeding I don't feel at all 'full' or ready to go? Is this normal? Should I mentally prepare for weaning fully sooner than we had planned?

For context, 2 weeks ago we started night weaning. Very quickly we began dropping day feeds too. Now at 11mo bub is just having milk upon waking and at bedtime (nursing from the breast only)

Weaning symptoms akin to early pregnancy symptoms 🤯

PSA for anyone who didn't know (like me!), weaning can cause symptoms that feel like early pregnancy!

For the life of me I couldn't figure out why I was having daily nausea, car sickness, headaches, bone tired fatigue, itchy skin, insomnia in the middle of the night, etc. I am definitely not pregnant right now (unfortunately)

A kind redditor mentioned that these are WEANING SYMPTOMS. Oh my gosh. My baby recently dropped 1-2 breastfeeds/day and the timeline makes perfect sense.

Just posting this in case anyone didn't know 🤗. Its been tough feeling symptomatic of pregnancy but being deep in my follicular phase. Other common symptoms include weepiness, irritability, depression, etc.

Weaning - what to expect?

Looking for some anecdotes on weaning. Bub is 11mo, we're down to 3 feeds per day (3:30am, 10:30am, 6:30pm).

I never thought I'd intentionally wean, but I've intuitively started to do it? Bub has adjusted pretty well. I'm considering weaning fully by 12-14mo

What should I expect? Any tips?

He doesn't take milk from any bottles. I've offered cows milk from his water bottle, nope. I don't pump either

I sort of want to hold onto at least 1 feed, I love breastfeeding and will miss it, but we're looking to conceive again soon and my cycle is sensitive to BF

Weaning and significant supply dip (10-11mo)

10 days ago we reduced to 3 feeds per day (baby is nearing 11mo). About 2 days ago I noticed a huge supply dip

Yesterday he chose to only feed on one side for one of those feeds. Come his next feed, that breast still didn't feel at all ready considering he went about 14hrs between feeds on that side. Is this normal?

Night weaning to TTC#2?

Did anyone purposefully night wean, or fully wean, and succeed with having 2u2? Looking for some positive stories or words or encouragement 🙏🏼

I'm 10.5m pp, we're into our 6th month of trying. I'm ovulating late and have a short luteal phase while breastfeeding. This cycle I've reduced our breastfeeds from 4-5 sessions to 3 sessions in 24hrs, focusing on night weaning (~10hrs overnight with no breastfeeds)

Praying this could work for us, but also willing to (sadly) wean by 12 months to increase our chances

Mucinex for ttc?

I'm on cycle 6 ttc and figured mucinex could be worth a try this month. I have some questions!

  1. Have you had success or not using mucinex?

2a. When in your cycle did you start taking mucinex?

2b. If you have irregular ovulation patterns, how did you decide when to start taking mucinex?

  1. When in your cycle did you stop taking mucinex?

Thanks everyone! Best wishes to you all 🙏🏼

Dropping from 4 to 3 feeds per 24hrs?

Bub is 10.5m old. He's recently transitioned to feeding once overnight (yay!) ~3am. I'd like to drop to 3 feeds in 24hrs. I'm just not sure how best to space them out?

This was our 4 feed schedule: 3am, 8:30am, 1pm, 6:30pm. Give or take an hour.

For the last two days, I've dropped the early arvo feed. It seems to be working, I'm just not sure what the best way to go is. Any advice appreciated! Working towards weaning ~12-14m old
