Vanguard error: Van 84

I can't access the game today because of this message of error. I tried the following which I found from other Reddit posts and online. None of that made a change. Everything is updated. I have no idea what I can do
Check Vanguard/vgc Service: Ensure the Vanguard service ("vgc") is running and set to automatic; starting it fixed the issue for multiple users. "Win + R, use services.msc ... Look for 'vgc' ... change it to
'automatic.
• Run Riot/Vanguard As Admin: Running vgtray and the Riot client as administrator (and allowing firewall bypass)
• Disable IPv6 / Use IPv4 DNS:
• Restart After Network Changes

How is masters and above ranked

I have been playing the game for a long time but I haven't even thought of that ranks much before. I've been bouncing around diamond so probably won't be reaching masters soon. But I am curious how does the lp and decay work there. As far as I understand you have to play 1 game per 24 hours and you can also spam them in the weekend right? And also from master to challenger do you reset lp like at other ranks or you just keep getting lp until you reach the threshold for grandmaster for example.

I tried searching about it but it was confusing. A website shows the lp cut off but it says the lp needed increased slightly in the last 24 hours

Free kick and corner

I am new in the sub so I hope these types of posts are allowed. I didn't find anything in the rules.

I have played consistently from fifa 12 to fifa 22 or 23. And then occasionally the newest ones with friends. How do you take free kicks right now? I have had success with curled ones but most of the time however I place the cursor it can't reach a good angle. For example knuckle ball with Ronaldo always goes inside the opponents making the wall. Or is it more realistic nowadays and you have to think what type of free kick you need to perform based on the position it is? Like not to do a curled free kick from 30-40 yard and a knuckleball just outside of the penalty box.

Second question is for corner kicks. Do you always do a standard corner or prepare it then move the players inside the box?

I know I can watch videos of combinations and quick tutorials but I wanted to ask more personally what the thought process is. Not just a clickbait video

Locke runes and general questions

I have been playing Locke casually around the roles. I have tried support, top and jungle in that order( I don't like mid but soon). But am looking to play him long term in top lane

What runes do you go on Locke and in what cases? I tried electrocute and conqueror but don't really see the strength in conqueror. Locke can do pretty safe trades in my opinion, proc electrocute and run away.

For items I am going the standard lich bane, shadow flame and rabadon/zhonya depending which is needed. Is there much diversity? I know dusk and dawn and rocket belt can work but don't see the value. Maybe in a conqueror build but again don't see why.

Last I want to ask for Locke combos and trade patterns. I understand the q stack. How do you usually play out fights tho? I usually use first e if I am ahead more aggressively as all I really needs is max stack q and second e plus lich bane.

Belveth

I am so lost on how this champion should be played. Should I play a few games on normal league to get used to the champion or what? Bel veth attack speed used to be really popular a year ago and everyone was picking it. I am genuinely horrible at this champ. Does anyone have any tips for her?

Best champions for stats

Since now there is 100% shardblade plus you can stack stat augument and extra 5-25% I think we can all agree stats are not as troll anymore.

What would you say are the best stats champions outside of twisted fate, ornn, pyke. I think there is a lot to consider about this and it's not just champions who can scale of different stats.

I consider good stat champions to be: Malphite, alistar, bard, Elise and katarina.

Late game assassins playstyle

I haven't played assassins in jungle in a very long time because I was struggling with them. I play Viego, Kindred, Volibear and support role.

My question is how do you close out or win games as assassin? I know how to fundamentally jungle and have a lot of experience on assassin champs like Khazix, Zed, Kayn and Rengar. I have had games where I was 8/0/2 with 11/13 team score end of early game. My problem comes in the last 5-10 minutes of the game where people group and end.

Is assassinating 1-2 of important enemy champions enough? In games where my team is failing and it's up to me to win games I could never do it even if I am above 20-30 kills and assist.

Or is it more about me being a good jungler and not letting my team fail in the first place? As assassin my mentality is to funnel gold towards myself. This naturally comes from ganking lanes but I don't do it to save my laners I do it because I see a successful gank where we can secure 2 kills. This means I will not go gank the enemy raid boss top laner if I won't be successful. I will try to get ahead enough so when I gank top potentially with my mid we can win the fight.

I have seen good assassin players on mine and enemy team play around side lanes. I am not sure if it's to draw enemies to them so they can waste their time or fight them because the assasin player is very ahead. Or if it's about diving enemy team so then rengar can travel through the map and pick them one by one.

For reference I am diamond support player but have a lot of jungle experience.

Coaching for diamond +

I asked this question in the support sub Reddit but couldn't get a lot of answers. I will try to keep it short. Can anyone recommend good coaches for league. I play support jungle and top so wouldn't mind if it's not role specific. I have been stuck in diamond and trying to improve for the last 3-4 months but I finally decided to commit to coaching. I am playing everyday, vod reviewing and watching educational content. I have gaps in my role specific knowledge because of transitioning between roles and that's one of the main reasons why I decided on coaching.

Zed mid or jungle

I used to be zed and yasuo main season 5-8. I started playing league consistently 1.5 years ago but haven't played zed much. What are your thoughts of Zed jungle right now? I know people complain about Zed state now but I think with enough champion mastery it can be fun like before.

What builds and runes are there for Zed? So far I play him jungle with electrocute voltaic > axiom arc > serylda or edge of night.

Second I want to ask if you are waiting for power spike or your damage all depends on you hitting skills with shadow and Zed.

I try to make flashy plays but never know how much damage I will do until I throw myself in fight. I am not low ranked just play support mostly.

Item binding and settings question s

I am not 100% sure but I think there is an option to bind your items to an item slot. Like I often get refillable on the second slot, wards on the third. Late game I sell refillable and have zhonya on the second slot. I couldn't find it in settings.

I was also messing around in settings trying to bind my spells to quickcast with indicators and somehow I can't learn or level up abilties with control and q for example.

Coaching for support

What coaches are there for support? I have never done coaching but I have watched coaching sessions on YouTube too see how they do vod reviews. I finally decided to get coached because I have been playing very serious for the last year and a half.

I will for sure schedule a session with coach k but he is not available this month.

Appreciate any advice or reccomendations. It doesn't necessarily have to be support coach if the coach himself is very good

Long cooked tomato sauce for pasta

I am making this post to share my way of making tomato sauce and ask about opinion and advice. I don't consider myself good at cooking as I have been cooking occasionally and I am 21 years old. Pasta is the one thing I make the most. This way of making the sauce is compiled from different recipes I have used in the past.

I start with cooking at lower temperature onions for 15-20 minutes in butter, oil and a little bit of salt. Not to get brown but to get very soft. I add garlic to the onions for 2 minutes until I start smelling the garlic aroma coming from it. Then I increase the temperature and add the prepared tomatoes with more salt to the pan for 15-20 minutes. I prepare them by cutting a small x in the bottom of the tomatoes and put them into boiling water for 40 seconds. Then transfer them to cold water bowl to stop cooking. I peel and slice the tomatoes while trying to remove most of the seeds. After that I lower the temperature to slow simmering for 30-180 minutes depending on how long I can cook it for. In the last 15 minutes of the reduction I add black pepper and basil. Then blend it very smoothly and return to pan. I cook it again at lower temperature for 10-15 minutes if I took a break after blending and it isn't hot anymore. I remove from heat add butter and then mix in the pasta with pasta water depending on the texture I have and wanted to have.

I usually season it a bit more at the beginning and by the time I have added butter and pasta water the taste is balanced. I am not sure if there is point in returning it to the pan after blending but I feel like it is improving the sauce. I am open to any advice and critique. I learn from online recipes and YouTube and don't have much experience.

Champ select automatic grief detection

I know how if you select Yuumi jungle and start typing in chat how you will intentionally loose the champ select can get terminated by riot and not punish your teammates. It saved one of my games but made me wonder. Sometimes when I am first pick I would ask for swap and while waiting for my teammates to swap or get convinced I select a different champion to not reveal my pick if it comes my turn. Can I get detected with this system as I ask for swap and have Kha zix support selected? I always pick my support champ when champ select start and if needed change to Kha before it's my turn.

New champion class or type

Do you think that there are other champion classes or type which can be created? I have been thinking about how in support we have enchanter, engage, hook and mage supports. I think that league is constantly making new patches and updates but the champions and playstyles feel the same. I think it would be great to have champions who play fundamentally the game different like Bard or Ivernn for example.

Stuck in rank and don't know how to progress

Hello everyone, I have been playing support lane for most of my climbing. I have a lot of experience on top and jungle which I think helps you understand a bit more about the game. This season I reached diamond 2 but now fell to emerald 1 60 lp. Since then I have been playing everyday for 2 months trying to get better at the different aspects of the game and watched a lot of content but haven't played rank seriously.

I don't care about rank but my issue is that it's very clear I am not ready for master and above. I was playing my best games and doing more than what I was capable of. Even with all of that I was sitting on 30% winrate over 20 games.

What do you think my main focus should be?

  1. Macro
Learning more about the game and trying to implement the stuff I learned in live games.

  2. Micro
Becoming even better with spacing, movement, dodging, landing skill shots etc etc

  3. Coaching
The last 4-5 months I really wanted to book a coaching session with Coach K but never committed to coaching as I don't want to spend money to learn things I could try to learn on my own. Be it from YouTube or Reddit.

4 Champ pool
I play only vel'koz support or champions like irelia/yasuo on top which I know is detrimental to climb. Lately I have been thinking about how champions like Rell, Nautilus and other engage/enchanter supports may make my life easier. I can try to adapt my playstyle with vel'koz to suit my adc needs but it's not always enough. You can try to be aggressive with your tristana or Samira adc and be successful but one missed rotation of spells can completely throw the play. If you miss or enemy simply flashes you are usually screwed. Compare this to a rakan who flanked the entire enemy team in the late game and solo won the game. I think I am leaving a lot on the table by playing only one support.

I don't look at vel'koz like a mage like lux or Mel. I like the champion because he is difficult. You can constantly improve you skills with the champion even after learning him thoroughly. Vel'koz being an immobile slow mage with unreliable cc makes you put a lot more thought into positioning, spacing and even requiring you to start walking earlier to plays because otherwise you will miss on it. I think my movement, dodging and hitting skill shots with other champions has drastically improved because of the champ.

I have refrained from making a lot of posts on this sub. I believe that there is a lot of free and available content to learn from or simply needing more experience at the game if I was new. But now I feel like I am not progressing. Until emerald I don't drop bellow 70 percent winrate but at my current rank I can't win one game. My kda and team fights are not bad but overall I don't feel i am contributing to making my adc stronger or really helping any of my teammates get ahead.

First minutes of the game

I have a question about the beginning of the game and the first wave. I remember when I was first playing support we would just have the biggest coin flips in river before minions even came or ward the jungle entrance on our side. Now I have climbed a lot and can play support well but I am unsure of two things.

First question is when we arrive in lane we usually stay outside of vision next to our tower. I play vel koz and prefer to wait for minions to arrive. Then when we walk up to lane I can safely check all brushes with my q even if enemy hook support is hiding there. Is that okay to do every game or I need to be guarding the jungle entrance as a support? If I am playing an engage support with a strong adc I also understand we need to be waiting in bush for enemy to try to secure a kill as we are stronger.

Second question is about trades level 1. I am unsure if sometimes I should fight level 1. I understand wasting your support item for damaging other champions and killing first wave minions is not a good idea because you can't contest level 2. But at the same time there are matchups where we can abuse the enemy even on all levels. Best case scenario is if enemy takes a bad trade before wave and I can zone them out of xp by staying in the bush closest to their tower but this is not something which happens often.
