2026 Toyota RAV4 SE Plug-In Hybrid AWD Review | 320 HP & 50 Miles EV Range

Just uploaded my full review of the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 SE Plug-In Hybrid AWD finished in Meteor Shower.

This SE trim is one of the best-balanced models in the lineup, combining sporty styling, around 320 horsepower, standard AWD, and up to 50 miles of EV driving range while still keeping the practicality the RAV4 is known for.

I also go over the updated interior, Toyota Audio Multimedia system, digital gauge cluster, driving impressions, Toyota App EV features, and Plug-In Hybrid ownership experience overall.

Do Plug-In Hybrid owners actually plug in their vehicles?

Toyota just released some interesting real-world Plug-In Hybrid data.

Toyota Research Institute North America studied over 6,000 Toyota and Lexus Plug-In Hybrids and found most owners actually DO plug them in regularly — Toyota owners charged about 70% of driving days, while Lexus owners were even higher.

The study included vehicles like the Toyota RAV4 Prime and Lexus NX 450h+ and showed that only a small percentage of owners rarely charged.

With newer Plug-In Hybrids now getting 40-50+ miles of electric range, it seems more people are using them exactly how they were intended.

Would you buy a Plug-In Hybrid or stick with a regular Hybrid?

First Look: The All-New 2026 C-HR XSE AWD

I just uploaded a full first look review of the all-new 2026 Toyota C-HR XSE on my YouTube channel.

Toyota completely reinvented the C-HR into a fully electric crossover with 338 hp, standard AWD, aggressive styling, and a surprisingly premium interior.

Curious what everyone thinks about Toyota bringing the C-HR name back as an EV.

2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX Platinum

Just uploaded my full review on the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX Platinum and honestly this thing surprised me more than I expected.

A lot of people still don’t realize the Hybrid MAX is completely different from the regular Grand Highlander Hybrid. This setup has 362 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque, a 6-speed automatic transmission, AWD, and still gets around 27 MPG combined.

I also think Toyota did a really good job making this feel more premium than previous Toyota SUVs without losing practicality. The third row is actually usable, the interior feels upscale, and the acceleration is much stronger than most people expect from a hybrid family SUV.

I covered:

  • Hybrid MAX driving impressions
  • Interior quality
  • Platinum features
  • Technology
  • Third-row space
  • Comparisons to competitors

Video is up now on my YouTube channel if anyone wants to check it out:

2026 Toyota Camry XSE AWD Review — Toyota Quietly Made the Best Camry Yet?

Finally got around to reviewing the redesigned 2026 Toyota Camry XSE AWD in Wind Chill Pearl for the channel/community. I never had the chance to properly review the XSE trim when this new generation first launched in 2025, so I wanted to come back to it now that Toyota has had more time refining the platform and more people have been able to live with these cars.

Honestly, this Camry surprised me more than I expected. The hybrid powertrain paired with the electronic AWD system gives it a really smooth and confident driving feel, while the upgraded interior, panoramic roof, tech features, and sharper styling make it feel far more upscale than older Camrys. Toyota did a really good job balancing comfort, efficiency, and a little bit of sportiness with this generation.

Full review here if anyone wants to check it out:
https://youtu.be/gaixCJ_VES0

In the review I also talk about:

  • Real-world driving impressions
  • Fuel economy expectations
  • Interior quality and tech
  • Exterior styling details
  • How it compares to the Competition
  • Whether it’s worth considering over some entry-level luxury sedans

For those of you who have already driven or owned the new Camry, I’d love to hear your thoughts too because I know a lot of people in this community have experience with Toyota hybrids.

2026 Tacoma TRD Pro | Better Than Ranger Raptor?

I finally had the chance to review a 2026 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro in Ice Cap and I can definitely see why these trucks are getting so much attention right now.

The TRD Pro gets the FOX suspension setup, aggressive wider stance, IsoDynamic performance seats, TRD skid plate, off-road cameras, multi-terrain drive modes, and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. The truck honestly has a much more premium and high-tech feel in person than previous Tacoma generations.

I also talked a little about how Toyota positioned this truck against the Ranger Raptor and Colorado ZR2 because the midsize truck market has become extremely competitive recently.

Curious what everyone thinks about the new Tacoma TRD Pro so far.

Lexus Just Announced a Massive Multimedia Upgrade for the 2026 ES

Lexus officially revealed its next-generation Lexus Interface system and it looks like a pretty major improvement over the current setup. The new multimedia system launches first on the 2026 Lexus ES and includes:

  • AT&T 5G connectivity
  • Faster touchscreen response times
  • Configurable home screen widgets
  • Improved “Hey Lexus” voice assistant
  • Built-in Drive Recorder dashcam feature
  • Full-screen navigation in the driver display
  • Spotify integrated directly into the system
  • SiriusXM 360L support
  • New EV routing and charge management tools

It sounds like Lexus is finally leaning much harder into software and connected technology. Curious what everyone thinks because this honestly feels like a big leap compared to previous Lexus systems.

2026 Toyota Crown XLE Review | Do You Even Need a Lexus ES?

I finally reviewed the 2026 Toyota Crown XLE after already driving the Platinum, Limited, and Nightshade trims.

Honestly, the XLE might make the most sense for most buyers. You still get the hybrid AWD setup, solid tech, comfortable ride, and over 40 MPG without jumping way up in price.

It definitely feels more premium than a Camry, but not quite full Lexus ES luxury. Kind of an interesting middle ground.

Curious what everyone else thinks about the Crown lineup so far.

Toyota bZ4X Owner Compares the All-New 2026 Toyota bZ

I’ve owned a Toyota bZ4X for over a year now and finally got the chance to spend some time with the new 2026 Toyota bZ, so I decided to make a full comparison video between the two.

I wanted to focus less on press-release hype and more on real-world ownership:

  • Charging experience
  • Winter driving
  • Range
  • Interior changes
  • Tesla Supercharger access
  • Driving feel
  • Whether it’s actually worth upgrading

Honestly, Toyota addressed a lot of the complaints people had with the original bZ4X.

Would love to hear what other owners think about the new changes.

Lexus officially revealed the all-new 2027 Lexus TZ — their first 3-row EV SUV

Lexus just unveiled the new 2027 Lexus TZ and honestly this is one of the more interesting Lexus reveals in a while.

It’s their first-ever fully electric 3-row SUV and it’s expected to offer up to 300 miles of range on select trims. Standard AWD, available rear steering, panoramic roof, lounge-style interior, NACS charging support, and a ton of new tech throughout.

Looks like Lexus is really pushing comfort and quietness with this one while still trying to keep some sporty driving dynamics.

I might make a full breakdown video this weekend talking about everything Lexus announced and where this fits into the future of Lexus EVs.

Toyota has officially rolled out the May 2026 incentives, and there are some solid financing and lease offers available depending on the model.

Inventory is also in a much better place compared to earlier this year, so there are more options on the ground — including some trims that have been harder to find in recent months.

Popular models like the RAV4, Tacoma, Tundra, Camry, Corolla, and Grand Highlander all have offers worth taking a look at, especially if you’ve been waiting for updated rates or better availability.

I put together a quick video breaking down what stands out this month and where the strongest deals are:

Curious to hear what others are seeing in their areas or if anyone is currently shopping this month.

Toyota just announced a new partnership with Hyroad Energy to deploy 40 hydrogen fuel cell Class 8 trucks in Southern California, marking one of the largest commercial hydrogen trucking rollouts in the U.S.

A few key takeaways:

  • Each truck has an estimated ~500 mile range
  • Refueling takes about 15–20 minutes, similar to diesel
  • The only emission is water vapor
  • Toyota is also building out its own hydrogen fueling infrastructure to support this

What’s interesting here is that this isn’t just about vehicles — it’s a full ecosystem approach (fuel + trucks + maintenance + software). That’s been one of the biggest barriers to hydrogen adoption so far.

Toyota has been investing in hydrogen for decades (including the Toyota Mirai), but this is a major step into heavy-duty commercial use, where hydrogen arguably makes more sense than battery EVs due to weight and refueling time.

Curious what people think:

  • Is hydrogen finally becoming viable for trucking?
  • Or will battery-electric semis dominate instead?

Wanted to share a quick breakdown on a 2026 RAV4 XLE Premium Hybrid in Midnight Black Metallic that just landed — this was a customer order and a really solid spec.

After going through it and filming a full review, a few things stand:

  • This trim continues to be one of the easiest to sell — strong balance of price, features, and comfort
  • Hybrid AWD + ~40 MPG is still one of the best value propositions in the segment
  • Interior upgrades (larger screen, digital cluster, SofTex) make it feel like a noticeable step up from lower trims
  • Weather Package + liners are easy adds that customers actually see value in

I put together a full video going through everything (walkaround, interior, drive impressions) if you want to check it out!

Watch Video: https://youtu.be/5T_lg8Lbcbs

Curious how everyone else is seeing demand on XLE Premium vs SE/XSE in your area right now — feels like this is still the sweet spot for most buyers.

I just did a full review on the 2026 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro and wanted to share it here.

Toyota completely changed this SUV with the twin-turbo hybrid setup, and the torque is pretty crazy for something this size.

Quick thoughts:

  • Feels much quicker than the old V8
  • TRD Pro is actually legit off-road
  • Cargo setup is a little different because of the hybrid

Here’s the video if you want to check it out:

Curious what you guys think—would you take this over a Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition?

u/Lorenzob1992 — 22 days ago

I came across this today and thought it was actually pretty interesting.

Toyota Hydrogen Solutions just earned ANSI/CSA FC 1 and FC 6 certifications for their stationary fuel cell systems — basically clearing a major hurdle for real-world deployment in North America.

This is more about energy infrastructure than vehicles:

  • Hydrogen fuel cells producing electricity with only water vapor emissions
  • Potential use for backup power (hospitals, disaster response, grid support)
  • Less noise and fewer restrictions compared to traditional generators

Toyota has been pushing hydrogen for a while (Mirai, trucking, etc.), but this feels like a bigger long-term play in the energy space.

Curious what everyone thinks — is hydrogen actually viable long-term, or is this still too far behind EV infrastructure?

The 2026 Toyota Camry Nightshade Edition is one of the best-looking trims in the lineup, so I decided to take a full look at it and compare it to the other Camry trims.

I go through the exterior, interior, features, and overall driving experience to see if the Nightshade package really adds value or if it’s mainly just an appearance upgrade.

Curious what you guys think — would you go with the Nightshade or stick with something like the SE or XSE?
