Next to the Landlord, Penpen Neko is the most admirable character in the show. The only one who isn't simply bound by her vices, but actively tries to break away from such bondage of fleeting possessions and pleasures. The only person who's willing to sacrifice things for an ideal she believes in.

She is the antithesis of today's world. She is like Jesus and the Buddha, remarkable and exceptional beasts who reject worldly comforts for the sake of their beliefs and ideals. She rejects the things we take for granted, tempering herself so that when we all lose our luxuries, she will be comfortable in the same place where we will struggle.

She reminds me of when I decided to take cold showers, so that one day, when the war comes and there's no hot water; I won't think to myself "I can't clean myself thoroughly anymore". We are so alike...

Now that I have learnt she has good hygiene, would there be any downside to marrying the homeless cat?

Do we think Nyanlathotep dyes her fur, or do eldritch catgirls' hair gets blue in their old age instead of gray?

It's been like what, almost 8 years since the original series ended, and for how seemingly silly the "Time Adventure" song is, it always makes me feel retrospective. Sad about the time that passed and won't come back, happy that I can recall it, even if I could spend much of it better (little rant)

I think about watching Adventure Time after school. Alongside Regular Show and Gumball, it was the only show that I was still interested in on Cartoon Network, somehow I can't get over the fact that I'll never again be a kid, carelessly watching a random episode they decide to put on the TV.

It reminds me of all silly internet flash games I played with a friend of mine. The kind of pastime that is unlikely anymore.

Adventure Time is like a time capsule, reminding me of something I lost, which is especially interesting since I was born in the year 2000, so there were so many older cartoons I watched prior to it (like Johnny Bravo and the original Teen Titans) but am not AS nostalgic towards.

The relationship between Finn and Flame Princess was probably the first time I was genuinely invested in shipping two characters with each other. Then later in High school I caught up to the episodes with Huntress Wizard, and shipping her with Finn became another kind of obsession for me (even though I never participated in any fan forums).

Even listening to songs from across the whole show makes me feel like I've lived with these characters for so long. Changed across time, and still changing, and still trying to figure things out.

I'm kind of scared that I shouldn't be dwelling on feelings like that at the age of (almost) 26.

My mother always considered this show very stupid. Which is silly to me. It's weird and quirky, but has a lot deeper stuff to offer both to kids and adults. And there's nothing wrong with weirdness. If there's one thing I believe it's that one shouldn't be ashamed of appearing as their genuine self in front of others, even if they perceive that person to be weird because of it.

Do people who claim Soi Fon is the best female character in Bleach actually like her, or do they just think she's the hottest and ignore her personality?

If Claudia didn't die in childbirth, would Heather really try to kill her after stopping her plans?

After Claudia confesses feeling that her actions were sinful and unforgivable, there seems to be a short moment where Heather is taken aback, as if empathizing with her. If Heather managed to stop Claudia's plans without Claudia essentially killing herself, do y'all think Heather would try to help her and forgive her, or would she, as she claims after seeing Claudia died, kill her anyway to avenge her father?

What happened to slider phones?

My first phone ever was this Nokia e65, I actually still have it in the shelf next to my bed, and I'd use it if not for my SIM card not fitting it. I have to wonder; were slider phones like these unpopular? Why does it seem like companies that make dumbphones have completely abandoned this design? It seems very elegant to me.

Would reading "The King in Yellow" vastly improve my enjoyment of the 2nd chapter of the first game?

I'll have a copy in about 2 days, I was wondering if knowing the source material would make me appreciate Estir as a character more? Should I postpone playing the game until I learn the source material?

I hate this stupid ass poster

It's genuinely insane that whoever designed this poster, went through all the work to make it, and not once throughout the whole process thought to himself "wait a minute, there's a double standard here".

Because of course, first of all, the man has to always be the aggressor and can never be raped by a woman, and second of all, a woman is less capable of controlling herself when intoxicated (is that the thought process here?), so she has to be the victim, and can't be the one taking advantage of the other person.

"A woman who is intoxicated cannot give her legal consent", well, what about the man?

This also only reinforces the idea that you have to be some "macho". When a woman has sex with you without your consent, then no she didn't, because you're a pussy if you don't want to have sex with her. So you better be happy about what happened.

The time span between the release of GTA Vice City, and the year at which its story takes place, is 16 years. For comparison, it's been almost 14 years between the release of GTA 5 and today.

Think about it. Vice City was a game that capitalized on nostalgia towards a time virtually identically far away from its release, as the time between today and GTA V's release.

Anybody else feeling old around here?

I hate the definition of the word "sodomite" as well as the assumption that Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction was due to homosexuality being widespread in them.

Whenever the topic of homosexuality is discussed in Christian circles, someone is bound to mention Sodom and Gomorrah. The term "Sodomite" is used to reference a person who engages in homosexual sex. But neither the Bible, nor Jewish sources, nor even Christian sources until the 4th Century, support the idea that the sin of Sodom was that of homosexuality.

Let us look at the Bible first, specifically at the Book in which Sodom is destroyed:

In the Book of Genesis, we learn that it is a city without a single "righteous" person in it. The main character of this story, Lot, takes angels disguised as humans as his guests. The people of Sodom, learning that Lot has outsiders in his house, come to him, demanding that he lets them rape his foreign guests.

>Book of Exodus 23:9 reads: "Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt."

Knowing the insistence of the Bible on treating foreigners in your land with respect, we can assume the sin of Sodom here is in their mistreatment of foreigners. Sexual immorality is also present here, but the Bible doesn't specify that it is found in their homosexual tendencies, instead it highlights a rape attempt.

The Book of Ezekiel, gives us even more insight into what kind of a place Sodom was.

In chapter 16, we read: “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen."

Now, I'm not knowledgeable about the Talmud (barely anyone outside of Jewish people is), so forgive me for using AI to learn about what it has to say about Sodom, but supposedly, the Talmud tells us that:

  • The people of Sodom supposedly enacted laws forbidding aid to the poor.
  • A girl who secretly gave bread to a starving man was discovered and executed in a particularly cruel manner.
  • Judges are portrayed as systematically corrupt and using the law to exploit strangers.
  • Hospitality to travelers was treated as a crime.
  • The city's inhabitants are depicted as delighting in cruelty and economic oppression.

Through this, we can see that the term "Sodomite" would be less fitting for homosexuals, and instead much better fit people such as billionaires, who hoard money with no regard for other people's well being and health. People who value riches and personal comfort over human lives.

When it comes down to it, it itself tells us a lot about the society we live in, where a story about importance of treating others well, has been twisted into something that instead justifies mistreatment of others.

Isn't the introduction of Manbagi a little jarring?

So firstly I just want to say that Rumiko is my favorite character in the series, and I consider the 2nd school year to be my favorite specifically because she's one of the main characters in it.

But isn't it a bit jarring, that in a series where all the characters are so unique, and where that uniqueness is valued, Rumiko starts off having a very unique style and a very loud make-up, and when she's afraid that those things make people not want to befriend her, the story basically tells us "yes, your make-up is the problem, you need to look more normal".

It feels wrong that her uniqueness is treated as something genuinely ridiculous she needs to leave behind.

Just realized something I thought I did 3 years ago, I actually did 6 years ago. Time flies by, and year after year it feels like there's less things happening. (little rant bellow)

Life has become a routine, my interests; a lie to make time feel well spent, I'm not sure what I want or if I want anything, only thing I know is that time spent feels wasted. Am I having fun? Is this what "fun" feels like? Am I relaxing in the weekend? Or am I getting more anxious wondering how I should spend it and then figuring I wasted it.

So what if I managed to beat my desire to drink. I made a lot more fond memories drinking my weekends away while playing PS1 games.
