How patches work ?

Hi. I have a stylophone cpm ds2 and the df 8 and i would like to know how to patch them and what exactly patch things means in synth world.

Audio quality

Beginner here....To record the audio track when I use EP40 - EP136 and Roland S1 I use Zoom H6 Studio with sd card but I can't get a satisfactory "social" audio quality. Does anyone have any tips on how to set gain, khz etc to have good quality? Thank you
