genuinely is there any chance section C could be HTML or JavaScript?

the test is THIS wednesday and section c has NEVER not been python since computer science was a subject but if on the day it's javascript or html im actually crashing the fuck out, i need reassurance surely it cant be anything but python??? could they throw a curveball?

u/Luviebug19 — 4 days ago

why tf is grad BEFORE the tests bro

Make it make sense, wouldn't it be better to have the grad AFTER the tests??? it should be in august close to the debs, wtf is the point of "graduating" and then coming back in a week later to sit english paper 1. taking away VITAL study time

u/Luviebug19 — 4 days ago

anyone else stressed tf out for the time for section C computer science??

1 hour is NOT enough bro. like it's not even close, no fucking way is someone getting ALLAT done in anything less than 2 hours. i hate python.

People that act as if animals are somehow above humans just because they don't have the capacity to be maliciously "evil"

This annoys me even more if the person claims that humans are evil and the world would be better off without them, because animals are so pure in comparison. It's so stupid how these people claim animals are above humans because they're "morally superior" as if morality isn't a uniquely human concept and by displaying this concern for morality they're automatically proving themselves wrong, because they're human.

When a male lion moves into a new pride it'll kill all of the young males to ensure they don't grow up to oppose him. Macaque troops will play with the bodies of their dead infants, cannibalise them and in some cases, attempt to copulate with them. Dolphins kill porpoises for fun and then leave their carcasses untouched. The only real "moral" difference between humans and other animals is that humans found a way to cause more harm over a wider area. But that's it.

Xbox question about the DLCs!

The ones specifically free to claim because of the anniversary. Is there a time limit to claiming them? If I just log in do I get them for free?

Civs ranked on how good their opening jingle is (READ DESC):

Disclaimer: The tier lists ARE sorted in order. Let's get started!

Heavenly Eargasm tier:

Russians: No introduction needed. Intense opening followed by an epic chorus that genuinely makes you feel like you're playing as the Colossus of the North. Every match as Russia starts with hype solely thanks to theme. Easily the best opening jingle in the game, by FAR.

Swedes: Very solid contender. I'm a sucker for the "turuturu tuuuu" high note in the melody around halfway through the song, and it's a shame it's not repeated near the song's end because the tone falls flat and feels like it's precisely missing this part of the melody. Either way, hearing this jingle just makes me want to spam Caroleans and send Snaplock and Platoon Fire. Fantastic tune.

Spanish: I might be biased as a Spaniard, but the clacking of the castañuelas along with the guitar... they really nailed national identity with this jingle. It's not just culturally accurate but also catchy and doesn't get old no matter how many times you start a game with the end goal of doing FF and right clicking enemy TC at 8 mins.

Ottomans: As much as I hate them, the bottos' opening jingle is genuinely fire. The woman's singing at the start is giving "desert scene in an American action movie" vibes but in a good way, and it blends into the rest of the song quite well. Although not a bad jingle, it doesn't really stand up in it's own right to be in the Top 3.

Certified Hood Classic:

Germans: Oh boy, I was debating putting the Germans' jingle a tier above because of that classical theme, very fitting for Germany especially considering the time period. But I decided to keep them here because although the classical bits genuinely breathe life into the civ they're separated by a lot of... OKAYish melody in between. Still a very strong and hypeful theme.

Mexicans: Possibly the most unique jingle in the whole game, and for that it stands at such a high tier. The clear Spanish influence but with the uniquely Mexican additions do an honor to the country's heritage, not to mention it also just sounds really pleasing to the ear.

Aztecs: I'm a big fan of the numerous high notes followed by the sudden long low notes around the middle of the jingle, and the entire theme gives strong jungle vibes. Pretty fun theme but that's about it.

French: The continuous melody feels really well put together and has a clear flow from beginning to end, and hearing the French CDB's talk as the theme is going up to such highs is a really nice musical experience.

Japanese: Pretty decent jingle that has its own personality, it's just a shame you rarely get to hear it because why would you play Japan nowadays... although the jingle gets bonus points for resembling the aoe2 Japanese theme.

Italians: VERY catchy Italian opening and end but with a whole lot of boring in the middle. Deserves to be in the second best tier but at the bottom of it.

Cool

Incans: This jingle just feels like something that would play in the background of an 80s retro sidescroller platformer videogame set in the jungle, and it'd be named "Nazca" or some other shit. It's a fun, quirky jungle melody but is just beaten by any strong pick.

Haudenosaunee/Iroquois: Wow. Doesn't need big fanfare or a whole lot of instruments... just percussion and a whistle. This might be above Inca now that I think about it. Makes you feel like a struggling American native tribe in an immersive, intense way. Underrated jingle.

Americans: Yeah I guess... colonial whistle is very fitting.. but that's all that it is. Colonial-flavoured whistling, kinda like the bugle you hear in Taunt 31. Don't get me wrong, it's VERY fitting to the civ (especially considering it plays in age 1) and doesn't sound bad at all. But there are better jingles out there.

Hausa: African-sounding percussion followed by rhythmic whistling, very melodic and the villagers' voicelines have a certain cadence to them so when you're herding near the start of the game it adds to the theme.

Maltese: The ending of the jingle does a great job at making you feel like you're from a tiny island stepping out of your small world to take part in the most globally violent period in human history to date. The start though leaves much to be desired, just kind of boring.

Indians: Yep... sounds Indian alright. It has a nice pulse especially near the end, but it's just lacking a little extra something that would bump it up more. Not a bad theme though.

Garbage

British: Meh, just meh.... sounds so basic. If you think "European orchestra from the 1800's" this theme would pop into your mind. Accurate? Sure, but don't except ANYTHING else.

Ethiopians: This is actually quite similar to the Hausa's jingle (I'm not racist). Both start with fun quirky percussion and then switch to whistling. The Ethiopian jingle isn't literal "garbage" but the whistle game of Hausa is just so much better...

Lakota/Sioux: Similar to the Haudenosaunee theme (again, not racist) in the sense that it doesn't use a whole lot of instruments and is pretty simplistic with just percussion and whistling. But while the Haudenosaunee builds tension this one just builds nothing and then ends...

Portuguese: The trumpets keep it out of the bottom tier but the entire theme feels slow... just like playing as Ports so ig it fits the civ. But otherwise it's just not a jingle you miss after the first minute passes.

Holy shit turn it off:

Chinese: INSANELY boring and slow, and while the high-low-high-low rhythm is decent at the start they mix some weird whistling in and the entire ending feels abrupt and awkward... not for me.

Dutch: Easily the most forgettable jingle in the entire game. I literally am unable to think of any two notes following each other while thinking of this jingle. It suffers from the same problems as the British jingle but is just even more boring which is commendable but still bad. Fucking worst jingle in the game.

What are your opinions?

Basically, a guy from 10,000 years ago has travelled to the modern day somehow and is now tied to the train tracks by himself.

On the other tracks are 5 young college students who are guaranteed to become successful scientists and eventually cure cancer.

If you save the Neolithic he will go back to his time as if nothing had ever happened. If you kill him, you will irreversibly change human history, as he has thousands and potentially millions of ancestors by now, and the change in the timeline will be felt instantly.

But if you kill the 5 people, it will take many more years for cancer to be cured, if ever. You're not sure if killing the Neolithic will alter human history enough for the 5 people to disappear, as they could have different ancestors.

Do you pull the lever and save the scientists?

Edit: enough about the fucking buttons!!! there's 1000 other posts about them.

I genuinely hate the tiny boxes they give you to answer questions. In the mocks I needed an extra booklet for Computer Science, Spanish, Maths and Biology, and it just led to choppy answers with half a sentence in the original sheet and the other half of the sentence in the other extra space booklet, and I think that affected my grade because some of the booklets weren't even ticked. Like fuck me can they not afford more paper?? Give me bigger boxes so I can actually write down the things I'm working myself to death to learn off!!

The extra space booklets are guaranteed to get corrected in the actual LC, right? If I see I'll need more space to answer a question am I better off just going straight to the booklet? For Biology can I use the section C booklet for section A and B questions or do I just request another booklet?
