Pixel 10 back ordered after agreeing to plan upgrade/renewal coming from an Pixel 7, what's going on?

I got an email from Fido offering me a 45$ plan with 130GB and a Pixel 10. Considering I was already paying 45 for less, and my Pixel 7 having seen better days, I figured why not!

The very next day I get an email saying the phone is back ordered and no date as of when I'd get it... In the meantime my plan was changed already.

I tried to contact them but apparently there's no more chat, and phones calls are by appointment? What the heck happened to this company in the past few years? I've been with them for 17 years now, this is crazy.

Anyone else in the same boat? Or has some insight as of what's going on?

Thanks!

My neo-vintage and vintage chronographs!

Over half of my collection consists of chronographs, I just love the busy looks!

Breitling Navitimer A30030.4 from 1996, this reference was only produced for two years and has a Dubois-Depraz chronographs module over a ETA base. What I really like about these is the thickness! The Dubois-Depraz allows this watch to be only 12mm thick... For an automatic chronograph!

Omega Constellation 1542.40.00 from 1995, this one features one of the best MecaQuartz chronograph movements ever produced, the F Piguet 1270. This watch is also the only MecaQuartz chronograph Omega ever made produced. The F Piguet 1270 was intended as a premium movement to go head to head wort the JLC 631. It has a super smooth sweep (16 tics per second) and the architecture is borrowed from the legendary 1185. There's even a rattrapante version of this movement, the 1271!

Baume & Mercier Moonphase 6102 from 1982, featuring one of the most well known chronograph movements, the Lemania 1883 (Omega 866)! I wanted a classic sized dressy moonphase chronograph, this one fits the bill perfectly with its 33mm size and classic looks.

Hamilton Lancaster HTC233 from 1980, this one has the tank known as the Lemania 5100. I was always fascinated with the 5100. It's the first Swiss Chronograph movement to have both a vertical clutch and automatic works, the timekeeping wasn't affected when the chrono was running and it was built to take a beating! When I came across this rare Hamilton, I had to have it.

Lastly, Herma ref. 95111 from the late 70s-early 80s. This watch uses the solid and reliable Valjoux 7765. I don't know much about this one, other than Herma being a defunct watchmaker that used to make good and affordable watches. This one scratches that Heuer 13.1 inch, waiting for a rally strap to arrive for it.

Cheers

Baume & Mercier Moonphase 6102 from 1980, performing like a champ!

I had this Baume & Mercier Moonphase 6102 (Lemania 1883) for about two years now.

I know the watch was serviced but I never actually cared to track its accuracy (as it's a non hacking movement) or its power reserve.

Well, I was super impressed! From a full wind to dead, the watch deviated from +3s/day to - 2/day a few hours before stopping.

The power reserve, a whooping 49 hours! Yup, this makes me appreciate this watch even more! Definitely a little gem (pun intended as it's a 33mm classic men's size) in the collection!

Have a great Tuesday everyone 💪🏽

Replaced all the capacitors on my Neo Geo CD, including the PSU! But it was not that fun.

I've worked on many retro consoles before, but the Neo Geo CD gave me some work! I found some of the pads just straight up lifting or detaching by just removing solder with a desoldering gun.

Other than a few lifted/torn pads, everything works great! I've decided to recap the console because discs would fail to load until the console was warm, which is often caused by bad capacitors.

Now everything works first cold boot!

Cheers

Sending a watch to NOMOS in Germany, "available for pickup" for a full week? Is this normal?

I own a Tangomat Datum "Vorserienversion". It's pre production test watch NOMOS did to test, at the time, their first in-house automatic movement.

The watch has not been serviced since, so instead of having my trusted watchmaker, I opted to send it to Germany since it being a pre production watch, if something went wrong, I rather it be them dealing with it.

The shipping status as been "Available for pickup" since Monday. I sent the watch to the address provided by them, so I'm not entirely sure what's the deal.

Has anyone here sent their watch to NOMOS in Germany and had a similar experience? Is it normal or am I in trouble?

Thank you for the feedback.

Logitech G710+ and G402! Had this combo for well over a decade now.

My keyboard and mouse are old by today's standards, but I refuse to upgrade!

My G710 got deep cleaned and SteelSeries Prism keycaps installed as they original ones were crumbling.

My G402 got a replace shell and deep clean, looks like the day I purchased it!

Anyone else here using the G710 it G402 still?

Cheers

I just finished the Halo: Reach campaign, it's my favorite Halo campaign to date!

I recently got a Series S 1TB, was preowned and really sweet deal. I haven't been on XBOX since the original, so, I went and purchased The Master Chief Collection, Halo 5 and infinite.

I played the mainline Halo games and I didn't think much of Reach... Boy, was I wrong. What a game this was! I think it was by far my favorite campaign 🤯

Longines Avigation BigEye on this Sunday!

Paired with a Staib mesh bracelet. I had this watch for a few years now, still enjoying it as much as I did when I first got it.

Gears of War: E-Day, I will vote with my wallet!

I was 12 when I got my first XBOX (OG) with a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved, I was absolutely mindblown at the time and I've been a member of the XBOX family since...

For the current generation tho, I felt like XBOX (in part thanks to Microsoft) had lost its charm, so after my One X, I went with a PS5 Slim, which was my first current generation PlayStation ever. I've owned PlayStations but I usually pick up the previous generation preowned on the cheap and so on.

That being said, I'm starting to think Microsoft might let XBOX steer the ship in the right direction! With talks about bringing back exclusives, and making E-Day exclusive, I think that's a move in the right direction, so I'll be buying the game day one, hoping it might send Microsoft the signal they need.

I recently got myself a Series S, and man, I'm really impressed with it. I've been playing the Halo Infinite campaign on it, I'm having a blast! It will also be how I play Halo: Campaign Evolved, as the idea of playing it on my PS5 feels wrong haha.

Got myself a like-new preowned Series S!

Last generation I had a XBOX One X (with internal SSD upgrade), however for this current generation, I went the traitor route and got myself a PS5 (Slim Disc).

I must say, I missed having a current generation XBOX! So when I saw this "too good to pass on" deal on a like-new Series S, I had to get it!

First thing I did was to install Halo Infinite, although the campaign plays and looks amazing on One X, the multiplayer was choppy at times.

I also installed Elden Ring! I have over 500 hours into that game (lots of fun hours playing with friends, and NG+5 at this point), and all of those hours were done at 30 FPS, definitely feels like a different game at 60 FPS haha.

Although I have a PS5, other than Bloodborne, Demon Souls Remake and Space Marine 2, I didn't really play much on it, as most of my friends are on Xbox and I kept tagging along with my trusty One X (best console ever IMHO).

Cheers

Controller revisions?

I never knew the TG16 had some controller revisions... The plastics of these two seem to be slightly different, the screw sizes are different as well.

I was always under the impression that the controllers for the TG16 never got any kind of revisions due to the low sales.

If someone here is more educated on this subject than I am, I'd love to learn more about it!

I purchased the cheapest TurboPad I found on eBay... It was nasty. There's the before and after!

I recently managed to score a TurboTap for cheap locally, but I didn't own a spare TG16 controller. So I just want on eBay and purchased the cheapest one I found.

Man, it was nasty. Rusted screws, something was spilled and dried inside, and lots and lots of crud. The glue that hold the faceplate also was starting to fail it seems.

A few hours later, and lot lots of scrubbing, now it looks half decent lol

Felt like a Navitimer kind of Sunday.

Breitling Navitimer A30030.4 from 1996, this reference was only produced for two years as an homage to older chronomats from the 50s which were the foundation of the Navitimer we know today. Another neat detail about this reference, it's the one Navitimer in the Montbrillant collection to have Navitimer written on the dial.

TurboGrafx-16 TurboTap acquired! Now I gotta get at least one extra controller haha.

I had my TG16 for a few years now, I even replaced all the capacitors! Recently I saw the TurboTap listed locally and decided to get it.

Breitling Colt GMT A32350 on this hot Tuesday!

I don't wear my Colt GMT all that often on the colder days of the year, but now with the warmer weather, it's time to rock it!
