I put springtails in my aquarium...

Hear me out though! I have a big mat of crystalwort floating on the surface. I bought some semi Aquatic springtails for a very shallow java moss enclosure I keep juvenile newts in and this afternoon I realized these bad boys can jump on water! I feed powdered shrimp food for my baby shrimp so I have a decent amount of food on top so I went for it and we'll see how they do! Right now they're hanging out on the tubing (top of the frame). I bet with their ability to get out of the water if they get into it, these would do well in a lot of tanks with floating plants as long as you make sure there is food.

We need more alt modes that would get a bot eradicated by the government in the state of Mississippi

Just How Do You Get in My Bed!?

I aint ever had a shrimp dry on my bed! Sometimes, in the air vent of my room. Sometimes, in my nail art box. And sometimes! Even in the hallway outside my door! But never!! Ever!! Did I have one climb in bed!! Is this an infidelity attempt!? Or an attempt at my life!?! Whichever it is, I now understand the fear of letting these bugs evolve, they're coming for us!!

((Fr tho I really dont know how they can climb up on my bed other than climbing up by my bedsheets lol. Ive been working on my 29 gal but not for the past 3 days, so I haven't moved anything that could've had a shrimp on it. I am so shocked xD))

How do I shine/clean up this shell? (Bonus ID??)

Ive had this shell for years now and never knew what to do with it. Its been in my freshwater aquarium for a long time and its only had soap and water washes. I wish to shine and polish it but the texture of the shell is rough and off-color (its always been that way) so,

  1. How do I smooth out the shell to be smooth similar to the inside of the shell and
  2. How do I have the colors of the shell stay out.

I've looked this up and heard of using water and bleach 1:1 ratio to clean up the roughness of the shell and use mineral oil to give it a shine, but I wanted to ask directly with the type of shell I have and its condition to see what others think about it! Should I use a fine sand paper for it too?? (For the bonus ID: I got this guy from an inlet during my trip in the northern part of Washington. It was the only one of its type that I found, anyone able to ID who this shell belonged to?)

Brazillian Black running from food?

I have had this brazillian black tarantula for a few months. I got her from a reptile rescue and they had no idea her age but shes about the size of an oreo and for the first few months she ate fine but now whenever I put Dubias in her enclosure she either acts like she doesnt see them or runs from them. You can see the first one that was dropped in front of her she let escape into the soil. The second one she is ignoring.

Wuff Spood °oÓÒo°

This was the first time I got to see one in person, and they were nice enough to nervously stay still for the vid lol. They're so cute and yes, the °oÓÒo° face does not do justice for the amount of eyes looking at you with concern.

Getting a new tank for my crested gecko, any tips would be appreciated

Hello fellow crestie lovers! This is my beautiful crested gecko Gatsby. He was in a bioactive tank but it recently had started to mold a ton so I am throwing it out and getting a new one. The tank is quite old and I think I’ve been spraying it too much which contributed to the mold. He was in this size tank: Length: 18inch, Width: 18inch, Height: 24inch and I was thinking about putting him in this size tank: Length: 18inch, Width: 18inch, Height: 36inch. What do you guys think?

There’s also plenty of other cage sizes I can consider like a 24x24x36 (that one is so expensive tho) but if he would enjoy the space I would get him the biggest tank I can. If you could let me know what size tank you have if would be much appreciated!

Also his new tank will not be bioactive, so any advice on decor would be amazing. If you have any pieces in your gecko tank that you love and your gecko likes I’d love to know where you got them from! Thank u 🦎
