Will a Stanley blade scratch a phone screen? I got some new screen protectors for my phone and found out they don't have a cut-out for the front camera and the camera was really blurry with it on so...

I cut a small hole in it with a Stanley blade. I was wondering if I'm correct in thinking a razor blade won't scratch glass... I guess I'll find out when I'm due to replace the screen protector 😂 🤦🤷

I finally got it running! GTA 4

I tried a load of different versions, all of them crashed before loading the container/game, I decided to try out the lite version on a whim and it worked which made me decide to try the Anker version that Gemini always pointed me to and I now have the full game working (complete edition). I tried fusionfix, the game loaded but temps was hitting 98°c and the game crashed before I had chance to get to the settings and then it wouldn't open again, refreshed the game from the zip file but I'm assuming fusionfix won't work, I've heard it makes the game run better but I mainly wanted to try it out to see if I could get the temps down. I'd assume since it optimises the game somewhat maybe it'll actually have the opposite effect? This game will have to wait till winter (although I did play for 30 minutes and the battery temp was 41°c with an ambient temp of 23°c - although personally I aim to run battery temps below 40°c)

My settings are currently

Proton 10 arm64-2

Fex 20250910

Game presets

Dinput - prefer direct

DXVK 2.6-1-async

Vkd3d-proton-3.0.1

Audio driver - Pulse (but I might try alsa because I had a few ugly sounds - most from the radio)

GPU driver - Turnip gen8 v32

Plus a 30fps cap in gamehubs quick menu (although I'm not entirely sure if this reduces temps, as it doesn't in some games!)

My device is the Honor Win RT (SD 8 elite chipset - adreno 830)

Could this chafing of the rear drum cause a sound similar to an off-road tyre at 35+ mph (changing in frequency with speed like an off-road tyre)

I thought my wheel bearing was going but the front left spun fine but the build-up of rust on the rear left drum is chafing and causes a noticeable resistance when spinning the rear wheel. The sound is from the left side but it becomes quieter when turning left.

This is more a question born out of curiosity, but could you solder a heatsink to a processor lid?

Say you ground it back to copper, thermally insulated a heatsink (which has a copper base). Used a specialized ultra low melting point solder, heated the entire heat sink up so it wouldn't instantly pull away the heat added the solder and connected the CPU and heatsink together. Not sure if 138°c + would damage a CPU, there's other specialized solders that melt at 93-96°c (roses metal) and some that melt at 70-76°c (woods metal. although this could risk melting on top of a CPU during use? Not sure if this would be a problem, maybe the molten solder would stay where it is?). I don't plan on doing this but was just curious, would it significantly boost cooling performance? 🤷😂

▲ 210 r/windows7

Just got an SSD and it's saying this -

Is there any easy way to change the partition style? I'd guess I'll have to put it into my computer and change it 🤷😂 I'll wait till I have a bit of free time because I put every screw back in 🤦

Has EE changed their band 3 1800mhz signal? I was getting 4G on 1800mhz and today some reason it's on 2G on 1800mhz?

As the title says, I'm only getting 2G today 😭

I've always loved the idea of a world wide conspiracy between nuclear physicists

I've often thought the idea of the Project Orion nuclear bomb rocket engine was flawed but would like confirmation of this.

Because it's using nuclear bombs for propulsion, it is essentially using the atmosphere as it's propellant (as a guess), wouldn't thrust drop off to zero once it got into space? Because once there's no atmosphere there's nothing to expand behind the pusher plate and all you'd really get is a massive burst of energy without any to "propellant" to push the rocket?

Does anybody remember this game?

Relativity from an Indie developer.

I just booted Dolphin today and getting graphics artifacts on star fox adventures

It was working fine last time I played it. I have the 8 elite chipset (phone is the Honor win rt). Tried a bunch of different drivers but have the same issue Maybe I should try a previous version of dolphin as all that has changed is that dolphin auto updated?

I'm considering getting one and was wondering how the passthrough charging works? Mainly because recently when I've been gaming I've been using a power bank for bypass power so it doesn't run on the phones battery power while I'm gaming. To be honest the passthrough charging seems like a positive over the new wireless version for me.

Does it work with a standard 5v output power bank? I wouldn't use it to charge my phone but it works perfectly keeping my phone at the same battery level (while I was gaming it took about half an hour to charge 1% from 59% upto the 60% cap I set for bypass mode in gamehub so it's not a great charger for top-ups). I've seen some people claiming it only works with power delivery (PD) on the G8. I'm not sure how true this is?

Thanks for any info in advance 😁
