Franchise with The White Sox

21-19 after 40 games. I play about half my games simulate the rest. Jump in sometimes if the game is close late. I pretty much love it. Franchise features leave a bit to be desired, and I know that is pretty much consensus, but it is enough for me. Honestly I’m the type that just wants to catch up and play the season along with the real White Sox. I don’t need to get prospects and play 5 seasons etc.

I love hitting home runs with my favorite guys like Vargas, Montgomery, or Murakami. I’m fairly good at pitching and defense. Hitting is getting better every game and last couple days I’ve had a couple 8-10 run games with some nice home runs.

I also mix in plenty of Diamond dynasty which I might like even more than franchise. Once again, I know this years DD isn’t perfect, but I enjoy the team building and cards and stub collecting.

My other favorite aspect is the negro leagues story lines. I had ‘23 which was the first one with the Negro League feature. But I feel like ‘26’s is done really well and doesn’t get enough credit for that. I play on Switch 2. Graphics are not great, but the player stances and movements are realistic enough for me to have fun. I enjoy little things like wearing Fourth of July jerseys on the fourth, or Jackie Robinson day jerseys etc. Really just trying to drop a little positivity. Very excited for nba 2k 27 on switch. I know it will be a better overall game.

Just picked up The Show 26 on Switch 2

Already having a blast. As a White Sox fan it’s been years it’s exciting to play with this young fun squad. First game The Miz 2 hit me. Second game I hit a 461 ft blast with Vargas and a grand slam with Teel. Felt really good. I get the complaints with this game. I personally like playing on handheld and enjoy the fast paced easy gameplay. I don’t need crazy graphics. What is everyone enjoying with this game? I also really like Diamond dynasty so I’m excited to get that going. Last Show I played was 23. Anything I should know about ‘26 as far as fun modes or new additions to the game I should check out?

Everything is Dead and Dying

Had been wanting to get my hands on this one for awhile. LcS finally got some copies and I’m loving it. Just finished issue 3 which was phenomenal. The art is great which is something I always need in a good comic. Very atmospheric. Setting as well is really good. Any fans of this here? Absolutely love the cover too. Haven’t been reading much the last year or two. Was super into Image comics back when The Fade Out was released. It seemed like there were so many good creator owned stories at that time. Then went through phases where I enjoyed Marvel, or DC’s most popular modern runs. Feels good to be back. Also picked up the first two issues of “Of the Earth” and the tpb of News From the Fall Out.

Just an incredible product

Best 5 cards from 2 hobbies and 3 blasters. This is how it should be. 2 of 3 blasters were great. One had the /25 Julio and the other had /10 Cecil. Love both cards. And one hobby was bad but the other had /10 Winfield, /25 Lefty Grove, :50 Logan Webb which I sold. Plus the Murphy city variation. First of all, pulling high numbered cards out of blasters is super crazy to me. Just never happens although Bowman has lots of color, I opened 19 blasters and def nothing higher than maybe a /75. To top it off they are the best looking cards and the legends are so cool. Also got a /499 Satch and a /499 Ty Cobb. Can’t get enough of this product. I’ve done well and used trade in to buy most of my boxes so far, thinking about buying 3 more blasters tomorrow but I should probably quit while I’m ahead. It’s nice to end on a good note but also don’t want to miss a chance at another banger numbered card or even auto. Y’all been having the same luck with blasters that I did??

Started a Painting LLC(update)

Started an LLC 4 weeks ago. Just had 4 estimates today and landed them for $5100 plus materials. I was stressing yesterday about not having enough work lined up but feeling better now. For 4 weeks I’ve stayed busy and have made about $7300 in profit. After expenses. I already had one 2k job booked for June and a $5k job I’ve been given a date on, but still crossing fingers it all works out with my contractor on the 5k job. Im a one man band, and my rate is about $400-450 a day. But most of these days end in about 6 hours, plus cleanup at home. I’ll be spending Wednesday-Monday, satirday, Sunday included, knocking out 3 of the exterior bids that landed today. Hopefully will roll right into the 5k job which will lead me right into the 2k(5 day job) June 21st. Then will start two exteriors in July for $2700 that should take me about a week and a half. I’m hoping to be at or above a 100k pace before taxes after 3 months, which would be around 22-24k. It’s been a hustle for sure, and stressful, but I’ve had a lot of huge money days and weeks while working maybe 35 hours a week. Just got my business cards done today and can’t wait to go take these around. Sort of just here to celebrate the awesome day of landing work. It’s one thing that’s a bit more exciting than working hourly, the feeling after landing a job is great.

Also have an expense tracking app so trying my best to track mileage, expenses, and all that good stuff to relieve my burden. Any advice on how to stay ahead of the game I would love to hear!

Vintage baseball PC

Been trying to get at least one slabbed card from every year of ‘50s Topps. Irvin and Banks arrived today and love them both. Have a ‘58 mantle coming in the mail and a ‘57 Mays. As well as a ‘54 Doby. I gotta figure out who I want to get from ‘59. Maybe Aparicio?? What do you guys think? Also have a ‘61 Clemente coming. These vintage baseball cards are just too beautiful. Also love the backs on the ‘55 set. The colors are cool.

Started an LLC

I’ve been painting for about 20 years. 15 for a big construction/trade company in town. I got an opportunity for a total career change in the corporate world and while it had its perks, it didn’t work out and I had to walk away for a variety of reasons. Pivoted into starting a Painting business. Got my LLC and EIN, working on business logo and cards as we speak, and reached out to quite a few contractors and connections. 3 weeks in, I’ve managed to net about 6,000 in profits, which I feel great about. At the same time I’ve got an uneasiness about only having so much work lined up at the moment. I’ve got a few contractors that even on my slow days or days with nothing to do, I can go help them with their workload. It’s maybe not as good as landing my own job money wise, but it allows me to make money even on down days. I’ve got a few strong leads plus a $2000 residential job lined up for June. This is a wealthy client who I hope to have referring me to her friends, and a yard with would be great to have in her neighborhood. And also have been given a date on a $5000 job that should take me 5-7 work days.

Really here just looking for support, and advice on best routes to take marketing wise. I want to get some street signs and flyers, and maybe a Facebook page. Going to take my card around to property groups and paint stores who I already have great relationships with. I have worked lined up for tomorrow through a painting company that is currently been easy to work with and allows me to sub just because they have so much work and only a few employees. It’s been very exciting but at times intimidating, so one again just looking for support.
