Got these for $4. Nothing special but fun, nostalgic cards for me. Just starting to pick up cheap raw 90s hoops singles when I see ones I like. Normally a slab guy for my PC but this gets me by on days I don’t want to spend a bunch of money. Super fun cards.
What do you guys think? Really love the HoloJam which I just got yesterday. Also love the two slabs of course. And the Stadium Clubs I had just never really seen in my LCS recently and never owned so just decided to grab those for $3 each and really like them. And yea Upper Deck and Topps ones just were $3 pick ups as well that get me by on days when I’m not trying to spend much money. Really nice looking base MJ cards imo.
Catching up on a couple titles and really enjoying both after reading one issue of each. I’m on issue 2 of ACE right now. Any fans here? Seems like I’m in for a treat.
What are your guys thoughts on this set? I just picked up the MJ recently and love it. I also like ‘80 Topps baseball and I like the idea behind this. Since MJ never had a topps rookie from ‘85, why not reimagine one? And the old photos are cool too. The shot of MJ seems to be from the dunk contest.
I feel like the MJ has potential to rise in price and the Shaq is pretty pricey. I kinda want the ‘87 Scottie Pippen. I also want a Shaq :/
As a huge Phantasm and Coscarelli fan, I finally watched this and it did not disappoint. Crazy ‘70s vibes. This is completely under the radar and has only 509 reviews on Letterboxd. Some of the atmosphere and filmography is so similar to Phantasm, and the Trick R Treat sequence is as good as advertised. Any fans of this film here? Really had tons of heart and captured the feeling of growing up so well.
For a $40-50 slab this card really rocks. Love the back with Jordan on the set of Jordan’s Playground. Just watched it the other day and loved it. I used to prefer ‘90 skybox but this one has taken the lead for me. Such a cool ‘90s Mj card. Any fans of this card here?
Any fans here of this gem? The opening sequence with Grier dancing to Willie Hutch’s “Theme of Foxy Brown” is better than any Bond moment I’ve seen. Maybe I’m just wrapped up in Grier’s beauty and badassness. Great revenge at the finish as well. Had a blast with this and looking forward to finishing the unofficial trilogy with COFFY and SHEBA, BABY. Any other good Grier movies I should know about? Really appreciated the direction in aesthetic in this, of course the outfits were more than on point. Also a big Willie Hutch fan and I recommend his album Soul portrait to anyone who liked the music here.
What do you guys think of this card? I just got it and kind of love it as an alternative to his real rookie card. With this I’ll have a slabbed fleer of every base card from ‘86-90. I paid $150 for this.
Added a few cool ‘70s, ‘80s and 90s cards to the PC. What do you guys think? I really like the MJ and feel like it has potential to keep rising. Also really love the Erving as an affordable card from the ‘70s.
Been years since I’ve read this! Getting back into comics after a few years off. Big fan of DKR, Serious House on a Serious Earth, Year One, and basically any classic Batman tale. Not normally into the older more cartoony art like this series, but sometimes the mood really calls for that and am definitely in the mood. This is also has some nice violence which is a fun combination with the art. Just figured there would be tons of good atmosphere and lore in this that I needed to brush up on. Any fans of the series here? Should I be gearing up to read the second volume or just stop after this one? I have read them before, it’s just been awhile. I do remember enjoying the second volume.
Just got this ‘56 Mantle today. It was $999 pre tax on eBay which seems like a pretty solid deal.
It goes well with my Mantle auto that was given to me by my dad, handed down by his step dad. He doesn’t quite remember the story of how his step dad got this auto. I googled the name on the note card Mona Robinson and was able to find out through her obituary she did happen to live in my town for a stretch. Was it an affair between my step dad and this lady? Who knows. But what would be my best way to display these together? Consensus seems this was signed around the late ‘50s. What do you guys think?
I’ve recently watched ‘88-‘90. They’ve all been quite entertaining. My fav match from the bunch is probably The Mega Powers vs the Young Bucks, but also really liked the Hogan/Zues tag match, as well as Hart Foundation vs Brain Busters and Hart Foundation vs Demolition. Oh, also loved Warrior winning the IC in ‘88 and ‘89, as well as the cage match with him and rude in ‘90.
‘91 starts off with a bang. Vince’s “A match made in Heaven and a Match made in HELLL” is funny and a bit dark. More like his late 90s taglines with the dark Hell reference as opposed to the golden era. The 6 man tag match that opens I love. Steamboat, Tornado, and Davey Boy is just such an awesome group of baby faces that is full of so much nostalgia for me. Into Perfect vs Hart which is where I’m at now, which is one of the best matches of all time. Excited to see what the rest of the show brings! Any fans of this Summerslam here?
Thoughts on this affordable MJ? I got a PSA 8 for $60 plus $5 shipping on eBay. Have a fun memory about getting a pack of these on vacation in Atlanta when I was about 9 years old, and just being blown away by the look. I only own an ‘87 MJ sticker PSA 6, plus a Flair showcase 1996-1997 Mj row 3 PSA 8, so feel like this is a decent cheaper option to add to the collection. Any fans of this set here or this particular card?

Reading this series for maybe the 7th time in my life but it’s been awhile. I’m about 4 issues in. Just finished Another Green World. Next is ROOTS which has always been a big favorite of mine. It’s all such good reading on a rainy, weekend evening. The overall atmosphere from the ‘80s holds up so well.
Really enjoyed this summer flick. This film has always flown under my radar. Grew up on a lot of ‘80s movies, so somehow being from the late ‘70s it just missed me. Always enjoyed camp slasher films as well as 80s flicks like Revenge of the Nerds. I just really like the tone and music of this, love the Jaws reference when they are swimming in the water and he mentions sharks, and especially love the campfire tale scene. It has a few moments of insensitive stuff from Murray but comparatively speaking to other films around this time, it’s not too bad. Also love that it has a fun basketball scene and even a baseball scene. Great stuff, and the ending with them all singing the song around the campfire is a nice touch as well. Overall just a summer feel good film with an impeccable late 70s summer camp vibe and aesthetic. Any other fans of this, here?
What are your thoughts on Topps Gallery and this card in general. Good pick up for $92? I do like the look of it, it’s a well done art card by a real artist. Just not sure if this card is very desirable in the hobby or by Witt fans.
After watching and enjoy SS ‘90, I’m going with this based off a few recommendations. Opens up with the Hart Foundation vs The Brain Busters which is a hell of a way to start the show. Also a pay per view kicking off with the Hart’s music is hard to top. One of my favorite WWE tracks of all time. Any fans of this show here? Any other Kobe fans here? First Kobe since rebuilding my hoops collection after selling off a couple years ago. Had this when I was a kid almost 30 years ago and it feels great to get it back. The one I had was bent on one of the die cut edges, very happy with this PSA 7. Only cost about $90 which isn’t exactly a steal, but I’m happy with it. Decent Kobe to add to the PC??
What’s consensus on this golden era pay per view. Been watching it tonight as a 40 year old who used to rent all these on VHS when I was ten. Having a ball with it. Great matches all the way through. Especially loved the Hart Foundation vs Demolition. All the promos before and after matches are super fun. And also enjoy the missing sapphire bit. I still have the double main event to watch! Excited to see Warrior defend his belt in a steel cage match with rude.
