I built a visual programming system for my spaceship — no coding required 🚀

Hi Everyone, I've been working on a 2D space engineering and survival sandbox called MineEngineer, and one of the systems I've been building recently is a visual programming station.

Instead of writing code, you connect nodes, conditions and actions to create your own ship logic.

I'm trying to make the game less about giving you predefined machines and more about giving you interconnected systems that you can combine yourself.

And because everything is physically connected and destructible, a failure in one system can potentially cause problems somewhere else. 😅

I'm a solo developer and have been building MineEngineer for years. The demo is free on Steam, and I'm currently working on the new update.

If you were given this system, what would you try to automate first?

A New Defensive Mechanics For Your Base And Spaceships

Hi Everyone. I am just super excited to share the new block I added into MineEngineer

The Landmine block supports multiple triggering methods, which means you can use it for much more than just blowing things up:

🔹 Create automated traps
🔹 Connect it to sensors
🔹 Use programmable blocks for custom logic
🔹 Detect players or objects
🔹 Deploy mines from ships
🔹 Build your own defensive systems

And this is exactly what I want MineEngineer to be about — giving players simple tools and letting them create systems I never expected.

Please let me know what other blocks you would like to see in the game

Programming Ships In MineEngineer

Hi everyone, I just added a programming feature into my Space Engineering Survival Game MineEngineer, now each block which you use to build a ship has exposed features and parameters which you can run through logic gates. Basically, this feature allows players to build robots, automated drones and systems and everything what comes from the mix of imagination and engineering. I am super excited to hear what you think about this feature?

MineEngineer – A 2D Space Engineering Survival Game Where You Build Everything From Scratch

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a space survival game I’ve been working on called MineEngineer.
It’s a 2D sandbox where you start with very little and gradually build your own spaceships, mining systems, factories, and bases.

The main idea is that you don’t just place buildings — you actually have to engineer how everything works together.

I added remote control systems to my Space Engineers + Terraria style game MineEngineer

Hi everyone!

I recently added a new feature to MineEngineer: remote control.

You can now build a mothership that connects to other grids or drones and control them remotely.
The system works through:
• Computer blocks
• Antennas
• Electricity
• Authorization between ships

The idea is that you can create a drone, send it into dangerous areas, and control it safely from your main ship. For example, you could use it for exploration, mining operations, or deploying defensive drones around your base.

A mothership can have multiple drones connected, but only one can be controlled at a time. The drone also needs to stay within antenna range and keep its computer block and power systems functional.

This is still an early version, so I would love to hear feedback:
• Would you prefer controlling multiple drones at once?
• Should drones have more autonomous behaviors?
• What kind of remote-controlled machines would you build?

MineEngineer is a 2D space engineering sandbox where you build ships and bases, manage power and logistics, mine resources, and explore planets.

Space Engineers Survival... but in 2D

Hi everyone!

For the past few years I've been developing MineEngineer, a 2D survival sandbox inspired by Space Engineers and Terraria, with a strong focus on engineering, exploration, and building.

You start with almost nothing but only a survival pod and have to survive by mining resources, refining materials, crafting machines, and constructing your own bases and ships block by block. As you progress, you can leave your starting location, explore space, land on different planets with unique environments and gravity, and build automated production lines to keep your colony running.

The game is all about solving problems through engineering, survival and automation. Every ship is designed by the player, every base is functional, and survival depends on how well you manage resources, power, and logistics. THe game is coming into the shape and demo is ready.

I'd love to hear from other survival fans:
What feature keeps you hooked on a survival game the longest? Is it exploration, progression, challenging environments, base building, or something else?

I'd really appreciate any feedback!

I Just Added Automated Turrets to My Space Engineering Game!

I've added a brand-new Turret Block to my game, MineEngineer

Instead of simply placing a weapon, you'll need to build a proper supply chain.

Turrets consume ammunition, have a small inventory, and can be connected to your storage network through the conveyor system so they stay stocked during combat. Its helps you to defend your base and yourself from pirates aliens and other players

The project takes inspiration from Space Engineers, Factorio, and Terraria, and I'm slowly bringing all those mechanics together. Ive been working on this game for years.

What do you think? Does this look like something you'd enjoy building with?

I Just Added Automated Turrets to My Space Engineering Game!

Hi everyone! I've just finished implementing a new Turret Block for my game, MineEngineer.

turrets can be attqched to your ships or bases, and they'll automatically defend you against enemies such as aliens pirates and other players

Turrets require ammunition to operate and have a limited internal inventory, but you can connect them to your storage system using conveyor belts to keep them supplied automatically.

The goal was to make base and ship defense feel more strategic, atomatic or manual and rewarding players who build proper logistics and automation.

The game is inspired by Space Engineers, Terraria, and Factorio, combining engineering, automation, exploration, and survival in a 2D universe.
I'd love to hear your thoughts or suggestions!

I can now connect my custom ships and bases into one giant automated network

I added a new automation system to MineEngineer.
Now you can dock custom-built ships, factories, and bases together and automatically move resources between them.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4059710/MineEngineer/

The conveyor system allows you to control how items are routed, creating complex production chains and fully automated operations.

I'm excited to see what players will build with this — from asteroid mining fleets to massive space factories.

MineEngineer is a multiplayer engineering survival game where every block has a purpose.
What would you automate first? 🚀

u/MoonBuninni — 19 days ago

I finally built an automated conveyor system for my custom ships and bases

I just finished a new automation system in MineEngineer.

Now custom-built spaceships and bases can be docked together, and items can automatically transfer between them through conveyor networks.
You can configure the routes and decide how resources should flow between different machines, ships, and factories.

This opens up a lot of possibilities:
• Automated mining operations
• Mobile factories
• Space stations
• Large interconnected bases
The goal is to make every ship and base feel like a real engineering system where every connection matters. I also added many different types of blocks to make the automation be more flexible.

I Finally Finished the New Spawning System for My Game Inspired by Space Engineers, Terraria, and Factorio

Hi everyone!

After a lot of work, I finally finished the new spawning system for my game, MineEngineer. I've been developing it for the past few years, and it's exciting to see everything slowly coming together.

MineEngineer combines several of my favorite games:

Space Engineers inspired the engineering, ships, bases, and physics-driven building.
Terraria inspired the 2D visual style and exploration.
Factorio inspired the conveyor and automation systems.

The idea is simple: building something is easy, but designing a system that actually works efficiently is the real challenge. You'll mine resources, refine ores, automate production with conveyor networks, and build everything from small planetary outposts to massive spaceships capable of traveling through space.

I'm also working on multiplayer, so you'll eventually be able to collaborate with friends, form factions, explore planets and asteroids together, or compete over valuable resources.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new spawning system and the overall concept. Feedback is always appreciated! 🚀

Your Ship Won’t Fly Unless You Build It Right

Hi everyone, for the last past years Ive been developing a Space Engineering Survival game called MineEngineer.

There is still a lot to prove but it is coming into the shape. Hope to hear your thoughts about the game.

I’ve added a new Alien System into my game

Hi everyone!

I'm currently working on the enemy system for my game MineEngineer, a 2D engineering and survival sandbox inspired by Space Engineers and Terraria.

The goal is to make enemies feel like a real threat to your ships and bases rather than just something to fight. I'm experimenting with AI, different enemy types, and combat mechanics while keeping performance in mind for multiplayer.

There's still a lot to improve, but it's exciting to see the game becoming more alive with every update. I'd love to hear what kinds of enemies or encounters you'd enjoy seeing in a game like this! 🚀
