So I have approx 220 000 avios I live in Ireland but can easily get to london if I look up air lingus site they want €2 200 per person to fly Vancouver via London. Economy is much more reasonable 405€. If I choose Economy what's the chance I can use avios to upgrade to business?

If I choose BA Vancouver to london business is 110 000 points per person 1 way which seems expensive.

Stupidly booked 10kg carry on instead of check in really don't want to be lugging it around the airport in Dublin do you think they will check them in for me for free? Anyone else tried this? I know its usually the other way round.

Is the expiry date the date before which you have to have your return flight or is it the expiry date of booking a flight.

For example our expiry date is 7th August 2026.

Can I book any flight so long as I do so before 7th August or must I return before that date?
