Practical Lighting Battery Powered e26 Base

I've got a practical lighting effect to set up.

The actors can turn the light on and off but it can't be plugged into a wall because it has to move.

It's already wired with a bulb and an e26 base, but since I can't plug it in, I need some sort of situation that would allow us to use the light.

I'm not sure if I should try and figure out a battery pack that would run an incandescent e26, or if I should switch it over to LED and just use the existing wiring.

Any suggestions?

Edit - Figured it out! There are e26 lights with a built-in battery backup.

Where it started and where we're at.

The 12-in dual was run by a boss amp. It was some Facebook marketplace cheapness.

But I started there to see if it's something I wanted to pursue.

Eventually did the door speakers and then added an amp to those.

Now we've got this big boy. Skar 15 SDR with an 800 RMS Skar amp. Quite a step up 🙂

I know it's not as fancy as what some of you guys put together but so far I'm digging it.

Strictly speaking, I may have gone a little overboard on size, but it was a good deal.

I can't find speaker and Port grills for my 15-in sub.

I got a scar 15 in a ported box and I'd like to put a grill on the speaker and the port because the way I have to orient the box the port is facing up.

I'm having more trouble than I thought I would. Trying to find something that can fit a 15-in speaker.

And I just started looking for port covers.

At this point, I'm considering making my own.

Are these a good match?

This looks like a decent sale so I'm considering it for my truck.

Do this amp and this sub match each other?

Also, is there a way to tell how loud it will be?

Edit - I forgot to add this question about ohms. The amp puts out 700 RMS at 1 ohm but the sub is 2 ohms. The amp puts out 380 RMS at 2 ohms. Does that mean I should get an amp that puts out 700 at 2 ohms?

Butter in a marinade?

We have an old recipe for grilled country style ribs that is a very simple marinade of Worcestershire sauce and butter.

It's pretty basic but pretty good.

What I can't figure out is if the butter does anything.

If we marinate it in the fridge, the butter is a solid the whole time. So it doesn't seem like it would be able to do much interacting with the meat.

Am I missing something?

Need a recommendation for when the top's down.

A buddy of mine is looking to upgrade his sound system.

He's not trying to go crazy but when the top is down you can't hear the music too well because of the wind.

Any suggestions?

Rec for entry level 12

All right. Facebook marketplace is cool but the stuff I'm running has run its course.

I got in with some bottom tier stuff to see if I like it. Turns out I like it.

I've got an f150 with a super cab. Not four doors but two full doors and two half doors.

I'm good with wiring and planning on doing the big three with this upgrade.

I'm running a single 12 now and because of space I feel like a single 12 or 15 should be more than enough.

But I'm ready to put on my big boy pants🙂

I'm not trying to blow the doors off but I would like something that sounds good and hits well.

I also have the box covered.

I have two box options. A sealed Xbox and a ported Xbox. Both for 12.

I did see this amp at Best Buy is on sale but I don't know much about it.

So, any recommendations on an amp and sub for this application?

I know you're going to ask about budget.

I'd love to stay at 300 or less, but if that's unreasonable I could go up.

Anyone know anything about these?

I'm going to hook them up and see if they work.

Are there any other tests I should do?

But, in the meantime, I'd love to gather some general info.

I also might need amp recommendations.

Looking for pve health regen walkthrough

I've played through this game a number of times but never used a Regen build.

I found a couple builds but no walkthroughs.

Like at least the first couple things to get started.

Anyone have a source or suggestions?

I just bear phalanx.

Is this as good a deal as it looks like?

I know Skar isn't top of the line or anything, and Ali Express can get weird, but this seems like a good deal?

Sub upgrade for 2001 f150 Supercab

I've upgraded the door speakers with an amp and head unit.

Now I'm looking to upgrade my my sub.

I have a low end FB marketplace sealed 12 with a 1200w amp and it hits pretty well.

But I definitely think it could be better.

I'm looking for a better 12 or two 10s maybe.

I don't mind putting the box on the seats in the back. I also probably will stick with sealed because I like the punch.

But I'm trying to plan things out.

I have several box options. Ported and sealed boxes for a single 12 and a sealed box for two 10s.

So, I'm looking to buy an amp and either a twelve or two tens.

As for price, I'm not trying to blow down the neighborhood so I'm thinking 300ish but maybe I'm off for what I'm asking for.

TLDR - I'm looking for a sub and amp for my truck. Something solid but not too crazy.

2001 F150 Clutch Weirdness

I've got a 2001 f150 with a manual transmission and a V6.

I've talked to all of my mechanic friends and this one's weird.

Every couple months the clutch goes out.

The bite point drops almost to the floor and you can't get it into first if you're stopped.

If you drive it for a little bit or if you pump up the clutch it works fine.

And it'll keep working fine for months.

It happened in December and then it happened this week.

I feel like it has to be hydraulic related.

The slave cylinder is in the transmission though so that's not easy to get to.

I'm considering replacing the master cylinder just to see if it helps, but I won't really know because it's such an intermittent problem.

I was also wondering if the self-adjusting system is doing something odd maybe?

Anyone else encountered this?

Phosphoric acid and a cast iron pan....

I've been looking into phosphoric acid to remove rust on car parts.

Looks kind of cool.

Then I was wondering, if I've got a rusty cast iron pan, can I use phosphoric acid on it? Would it prevent rusting in the future? Would it get me sick?

Designing a low train horn....

I'm trying to design and build a loud, low pitched air horn.

I'm looking for under 200htz.

I've 3d printed a couple and I've seen some videos of pvc horns, but none of them are tuned low enough.

Is this a reasonable goal or is it harder than I think?

Anyone built a pizo speaker?

I have several pizo discs leftover from another project and I'm considering making some sort of speaker out of them.

Maybe an under pillow speaker?

Anyone tried something like this?

I'm trying to cut this contour and I can't figure out what the problem is. It says unsafe linking procedures and I don't know what else to change.

Edit - I'm using Fusion.

u/Morgoroth37 — 4 months ago

I'm trying to cut out these Greek letters but I want them to be connected where the arrow is.

I added text to a face and it'll contour the letters but I can't figure out how to just do sections of the letters.

All of the outside and inside cuts are good. It's just where the letters meet. I don't want them actually to be separated.

Any suggestions? I feel like it should be simple but I can't figure it out.
