Someone said my game is like mount and blade on steroids

The combat is semi inspired by Mount and blade but over the top trampling and tower defence elements. It’s you vs the horde.

What do you reckon? What makes Mount and blade combat so satisfying?

I just launched my store page for Bladehold!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5279820/Bladehold/

Trailer: https://youtu.be/1yfCICdsuEY

Bladeholds is a third-person roguelite hack n slash wave defence game inspired by mount and blade + a bit of orcs must die (traps and defences etc)

I did a lot of prep for this, so hopefully that makes an impact compared to just launching it earlier.

I tried to get my capsule nice, trailer done, pages with nice headings, human translations of the store copy, and reached out to several game trailer sites with 10 days notice.

Zero budget too for this stuff, I wish I could afford a capsule artist xD

It looks like IGN, IGN India, Gametrailers, and GamesPress have announced it, so hopefully that converts to some wishlists!

Wish me luck on my marketing adventure!

[Hobby] Looking for Steam store page translations

I'm creating my Steam coming soon page and would like to translate it without using AI - I have no budget to hire a translator.

It's about 200 words

The game itself will have minimal text so I may hire a translator closer to release depending on regional interest.

Anybody helping would feature in the credits.

I need the following languages translated from english:

  1. Simplified Chinese
  2. German
  3. French
  4. Italian
  5. Spanish - Spain
  6. Korean
  7. Japanese
  8. Portugese
  9. Russian

If you're interested please PM me and I'll send you more details.

Do content creators cover upcoming game trailers?

I’m developing a game and want to make a big splash when I announce it with reveal trailer. Is it worth cold emailing content creators to see if they’ll cover my trailer and steam page on their stream or YouTube channel?

Or should I wait till the demo is ready?

As the title says I really want some feedback to validate the game loop for this cozy looting game.

I'm thinking of adding some "low combat" features like goblins that try to steal your loot and you have to whip the items out of their hands before they disappear down a hole.

Also thinking to add some light construction/customization of a home and village for an aesthetic progression.

And obviously more tools and varied levels!

I made a platform to allow for exchanging video commentary playtests in a controlled way.

I named it SquidVox kind of a play on quid-pro-quo and Vox meaning voice.

https://www.squidvox.ink/

Basically you earn tokens by playing other peoples games, then use those tokens to list your own game.

1 minute = 1 token.

I'll be playtesting a bunch tonight and tomorrow night (nz time) as good faith!

Requirements:

  1. Steam free/demo or free itch build when listing

  2. Must submit a video recording with voice commentary to claim tokens (on youtube, vimeo etc)

I hope that I see some games popping up soon!

Oh there's also a discord server here to discuss any issues:
