Ereaders that won’t offload downloads and how to transfer iCloud books to them?

iBooks was getting rid of my downloads, which is annoying af. It wasn’t doing that for the longest time but in the past month it has suddenly started to. I can’t turn off icloud sync because then it gets rid of my whole library. I also have it set to manually getting rid of downloads. I do have 256GB of storage and currently a lot of it has been used up, but I still have 40-50GB left so I don’t see why that would lead to offloading my downloads.

For some reason not all epubs I have in the app are on my phone either, and not in the files section as downloads. So, I’m not sure how to transfer my books to another ereader? I currently have Readset, Instapaper, and Matter that I recently downloaded. I like Readset, some epubs in my files were able to be added here but there’s still like 300+ not on my phone that are on books I can’t import. Instapaper also can’t import, and I also am not a fan of only being able to download 500 articles and if the webpage is removed the article is removed. I had a lot of chapters of some books disappear from Instapaper and figured out you have a limit. Matter seems cool so far, not the biggest fan of the interface but it’ll do, I just am not sure if it will also one day offload downloads like Instapaper and books? And I also don’t know how to import icloud books to Matter either.

If anyone knows how or what ereaders to use that’d be much appreciated!

Is a radiology tech degree worth it?

I’m looking at G3 programs in my area for cheaper college, and if the programs seem to be worth it I’ definitely do it. Scientific degrees and jobs interest me more than others, and rad tech and MLT seem very interesting. Is an associates in rad tech a good idea for job stability and a decent salary?

Stories for cheap groceries? Cleaning supplies, food, etc.?

I have MVP at Food lion which can help mostly for some food items, but some things at Walmart are cheaper. Dollar Tree seems to only be good for personal sized items rather than bulk and lots of the things are listed as the same price, or more, than at Walmart. Does anyone know stores that are pretty cheap and which stores are better for what? Like if one store has expensive frozen food, but has cheaper snacks instead than other places.

Legality of fiction in the U.S and other countries?

So, I heard Wattpad is inducing a policy where some stories will be reported to law enforcement. And I am aware in some countries fiction of minors, beastiality, etc. is illegal. I believe in Australia a lady wrote a published book about some 3-year-old girl and a grown man and was arrested for CSAM because of it

But I’ve been confused on the legal side when it comes to the United States. And some other countries like Canada. From what I’ve seen online, visual depictions of minors in sexual/obscene manners without artistic expression being prevalent is considered illegal according to U.S law. I’m not sure about the written side. But then there’s the fact in the U.S, although on porn sites and some piracy subs, hentai and sexual manga about underage characters and smutty fanart on Twitter is quite prevalent? And most people seem to say it’s technically illegal but never prosecuted unless someone has actual csam of real children along with it.

Ao3 is written material and their servers are also hosted in the U.S I believe so I’m assuming fictional writing does not break U.S laws? I’m just wondering if people based in the U.S could technically go to jail over being reported for things like this. Like you have an NSFW image of like, idk Nobara from jujutsu kaisen saved in your phone and on wattpad you had some nobara x male character smutty fiction and were reported in the U.S, would you actually get persecuted or be charged with csam?? And is that prevalent in countries like Canada or bigger European countries? Do people in these countries seriously have to worry about hiding their fictional consumption?

If anyone here is up to date and knows about this stuff, would you mind sharing/explaining?

What majors will offer job safety/guarantee and a decent salary?

I don’t necessarily wanna make the big bucks, just enough to live on my own without worrying about bills and being able to buy some nicw things and do fun things sometimes, maybe vacation once in a while. And I want a job or field that doesn’t make finding a job very difficult and competitive. But I realize in today’s society and economy that might be too much to ask for.

I’m just wondering what majors might be able to offer what I’m looking for?

I’m from America, is 15% too little?

I typically do 15% for every single tip. Even if the waitress was bad, mediocre, or amazing. Maybe a bit more for amazing service. I don’t make a lot of money and food is so expensive nowadays so I just stick to 15%. My brother also tips 16% usually.

I went to Applebees the other day and got chicken tenders with fried and a Root Beer, which totaled to $24. Which was honestly crazy to me, even more so because the food was kinda mediocre. I did a 15% tip, which brought my total to $28.64. My friend told me I should leave a very good tip because the waitress was so nice, and she was. She called me queen and other nice names when she got me sauce and refilled my drink. I felt like I should’ve tipped more, and felt a bit guilty afterwards. Admittedly I was being stingy with my money. If I made a good amount of money with a more stable income I would definitely be more willing to tip people more but I don’t so I stick to what I thought was the minimum for the most part.

My friend on the other hand says 20% is the standard tip and average tipping amount. And that he does 25% for good service. He said he also anticipated my family’s tipping when me and brother went to eat out so he tipped her extra than he usually does.

I was a little taken aback to be honest. I didn’t think 15% was that bad 😭

I don’t know, am I in the wrong for always tipping 15%?

Dry eye? Flakes?

I have blepharitis, not sure what’s causing it yet and have a regular eye doctor appointment in October. I assume it’s a mixture of things. possibly demodex? My eyes do get dry and irritated, and itchy, and my eye lashes have thinned. My eyes feel the worst when I’ve been on electronics a lot, wearing sunscreen near eyes, or slept poorly. My eyesight also seems worse and randomly seemed to have gotten noticeably worse around 2 weeks ago, but that could also just be normal eyesight stuff going on since I wasn’t born with 20/20 vision. I don’t wear contacts or glasses. I use electronics a lot, like 6+ hours a day. I rarely go outside. I also have a horrible sleep schedule and fall asleep at like 5-6 a.m. I do use actives in skincare, so retinoids, acids, and sunscreen. Sunscreen does make my eyes sting and irritate them more sometimes too. I was using actives right under my eyes for a few months, then I learned about dry eye. I keep acids to on my orbital bone and retinoids 1-2 inches away from my eyes in every direction. However, I do notice my eyes seem to get drier when applying actives despite doing this, so I worry the skincare is causing my dry eyes? Which would possibly meibomian gland damage…

In April I started using castor oil for a month and it made everything worse. My lashes thinned like crazy and got even flakier. In mid March I stopped castor oil and bought Myboclean gel and Noveha tto wipes. My lashes have regrown a bit since using casotr oil, but they are not as long and dense as they were two years ago. It doesn’t seem to have helped the dry eye and flakiness for the most part. I still get lots of chunks of white and flakes and bumps on the base of my lashes that sometimes become flakes when I scrape them?

I use my nails to scrape off the flakes and it can be quite difficult. When I do this or clean my eyes I always lose lashes, up to 8 lashes some days 😭

I was just wondering likely causes and things to help with dryness and the flakes in the meantime? And thinning lashes/losing lashes when messing with my eyes and getting the flakes off 🫩

All my bracelets so far

Forgive the bad photography, not very good at taking pictures. All of my completed pieces I’ve made in order! The first bracelet is technically my second, but I deconstructed the first one I’ve ever made to reuse the beads on a better made bracelet in the future.

I’m trying to get better at knotting and making them smaller 👀

How to download manwha?

I am an IOS/ iPhone user. I use sites like Comix, Mangago, DesireScans, etc. online. I want to find a way to actually download manwha chapters, and preferably a quick way if possible. Like quick downloads with mass downloading? I use Instapaper for novels but I have yet to find an app or anything for actual manwha :/

I don’t know what I am

I read the “am I asexual?” faq and I’m leaning towards gray-sexual but tbh I’m still confused.

I feel physical attraction. I feel arousal. I masturbate, and masturbate to the thought of people I find attractive. And I do think of sex. But never of myself. The idea of sex is nice and appealing, and even arousing, but only if it never truly includes and involves me.

I don’t ever feel sexual attraction to someone in the sense that I actually want to have sex with them. And I never imagine me having sex with anybody. The idea scares me. I don’t really desire having sex with anybody either. Maybe kissing. But that’d be it I guess…even then not really.

I went on a few dates with a guy, my first dates ever, and to be honest I was so scared he would ask for sex. I was scared that the relationship would last and one day he would want to have sex too. What would I do? How do I say no? Should I say yes? Would he really be fine with a sexless relationship? Even him trying to hold my hand made me so uncomfortable. I told my friend that if anybody asked to have sex with me I think I’d honestly just cry.

When I talk about how I feel about sex and my thoughts to friends they say I’m weird. One says I’m the freakiest non-freak to exist 😂

I don’t know if any of that makes sense, I did have a previous draft that explained things better but it didn’t save 💔

Hair is always flat?

My hair always looks flat and limp and gross. The only time it looks good is right after brushing, and it looks the best right after showering and it has mostly dried. Which takes like 3-4 hours for my hair to completely dry, even though I towel dry.

My hair can become extremely fluffy and voluminous, but this fluff lasts like a minute and immediately droops back down. I have to move my hair all the time for it to look decent.

I do have low porosity, mostly straight hair with slight waves. I’ve tried many shampoos but my hair is very picky and gets oily quickly and many shampoos don’t clean it like it needs and leave it looking worse. Currently I use Shea Moisture anti-dandruff shampoo since it seems to work the best for my oily scalp, but makes my hair super flat. I use Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 once every week or two as well, and Paul Mitchell’s shampoo.

I’ve tried shampooing once, twice, three times, hot water, cold water, blow drying, towel drying, air drying, letting conditioner set for a while and not letting it sit for a while…nothing helps.

These pics aren’t the best examples, especially since my hair has been looking worse and flatter than usual here lately for whatever reason, but first and third photo are my hair after not being brushed or messed with much for a couple hours. Second os freshly brushed and fourth is maybe 10ish minutes after brushing but with me fluffing it up a lot with my hairs. The last photo is my hair just dried after showering.

I would prefer any advice that doesn’t require things like dry shampoo, hair spray, mousse, etc. My hair clings to product and here recently I dealt with horrendous buildup after a year of using products (despite using a clarifying shampoo often) and trying out a new shampoo that took months of harsh exfoliating to get rid of. It even thinned my hair out a bit 💔

[Sun Care] I’m Still Tanning?

So, I use coppertone spf 70 4-in-1 for my body and either Neutrogena Ultra Sheer face serum spf 60 or Skin 1004 Water Fit sunscreen for my face depending on what I’m doing. Neutrogena is definitely applied on exercise days outside and Skin 1004 for days I’m not gonna be out much.

I wake up in the afternoon, and shower shortly after getting up and then I apply sunscreen. So my sunscreen is applied anywhere from 3:00-5:00 p.m typically. When I’m downstairs, there is a bunch of windows and my mom likes to keep them open. I also have to let my dog out when I get up. At most I’m outside for 5 minutes. When I’m near the windows I try to close them if I can and stay away from open windows. Not 100% of the time however. I usually only stay downstairs for 30 minutes to an hour, and I try to stay away from the open windows or at least 6 feet away. I also have a huge window right in front of my bed, but I keep the blinds tightly closed and pointed down, but some rays still reach the floor/bottom of the bed.

When I go out to exercise, it’s usually around 5:00-7:00 p.m. Maybe an hour after applying sunscreen. I only stay outside for an hour tops as well. If it’s been a while since I last applied sunscreen and I’m going to go out and exercise, like 3+ hours, I will reapply. Mainly just my face to be honest.

I will say I’m not the best about reapplying. Since I wake up late I just try to apply sunscreen once and then don’t bother again. But usually I’m gonna be in a situation I need to reapply (as far as I’m aware)

When I do use my sunscreen, I try to use a bit less than half a fingertip for every 2-3 inches of skin. I wait 10-15 minutes then I also try to rub in any white spots.

I do use skincare actives. Glycolic acid, retinal, and BHA on my face. Retinoids on my hands and glycolic acid/bha on my arms. I of course make sure to apply sunscreen on every exposed part of my body, including places I use actives.

I really only started going outside regularly since March, like 3 days out of the week, and that’s when I started tanning. But I’ve been using sunscreen every day since around February, definitely since working out outside. I did start actives in October of 2025, and I wasn’t the best with sunscreen then which I regret. I still kind of feel like I’m not the best about sun protection now as well and worry I might be doing more harm than good since I’m using actives.

Anyways, I guess I’m confused on why I seem to be tanning so much. My face is much yellower/tanner than my hands and forearms, and my forearms are tanner than my legs and upper arms (legs and upper arms are covered by clothing much more) I get up later in the day, only go outside for a long time when the uv index is much lower, I apply what I assume is enough sunscreen, and I barely stay out…

Is it an application problem? Type of sunscreen I’m using? Actives?

My eyes bother me

Their coloring and the red veins in my sclera bother me so much I’m ngl. Wish my eyes wouldn’t look so different in each lighting and look so plain, and that the red veins would go away 😂

What do we think?

I started making bracelets for the first time this week, went from knowing how to do absolutely nothing to…being able to do at least something. I made this for my brother’s gf but I’m worried she won’t like it because it looks cheap😭

Just wondering what y’all think about the design and if it seems like I made it okay? Any critique? I used elastic wire, jump rings, clasp, clamshell, and crimp beads + crimp covers

How old are all of you and what do you like? 18+

I’m just wondering the ages of most players here and what tropes/characters you guys like specifically? Sometimes I wonder if I’m cringe for being into this game and I feel too old even though it’s a game meant for adults lmao.

I’m 19 and I like the dark romance, love triangle/polyamory, alpha/omega, and kind of slow burn stories. But so far I specifically really like Dylan Turner, Renzo Morant, and Alpha House.

I will say I’m not a big fan of how flirty these stories get so soon, and the two characters being so interested in each other in the beginning. Mostly sexually. I prefer things to take their time haha.

But what do y’all like and think?

Edit: Thanks for all the replies! It’s interesting getting to know what people enjoy in this game and the demographic. And thank you all for being so kind and supportive, I definitely feel better ❤️

Novels with cheating

I’m looking for BL novels where the ML cheats or sleeps around while in relationship/situationship with the mc.

BUT not a whole, ML cheats and gets with someone else and they get a happily ever after or MC gets a bad ending. I’m mainly wanting a story where the ML does this and deeply regrets it and grovels and truly loves the MC in the end. Kind of like Sissy or Intoxicated with Love.

It also doesn’t have to be a Korean novel

How Would This Tattoo Work?

I’ve been contemplating getting a tattoo for a couple months and looking at some designs.

I really love this tattoo design and out of all the options I sent a friend, he said this one was the best and I agreed. However, I’m not sure how doable the design is or how to find someone who I know would do it like the picture? Especially since I think I might want it somewhere else, like my leg or neck.

I also am not sure how long a tattoo like this would last without fading, if it would need touch ups, etc.

I have never gotten a tattoo before and don’t know much about how it works, so any advice and knowledge on the topic is welcome.

First bracelet and earrings!

Just got into making jewelry two days ago, bought a bracelet kit and some tools and watched a few videos with the supplies I have.

I use earring hoops and hooks, elastic wire, clasp, and clamshells.

I’m still new and know these probably look very wonky! Kind of doing my own thing and trying what I see online, but I really have very little idea of what I’m doing lmao.

definitely made the bracelet too loose because I need to get crimp beads instead of trying to tie a knot into the clamshell 😅

Did anyone have allergies go away then come back?

So, when I was 7 I was diagnosed with several food allergies. Corn, wheat, dairy, and eggs. The reason I went to get diagnosed to begin with was because I was coughing all the time. Anytime I ate, hours after I ate, and I also had horrible headaches when eating very buttery foods and random foods like those Welch’s fruit gummies. But I remember anytime we got ice cream my parents had to have a drink available or I would choke on it. Almost everything made me nauseous too. My mom put me on an allergy free diet till I was 10 because I was so picky and barely eating. I was already underweight before the diet from my pickiness and sensory disorder but it got worse afterwards and my mom decided she’d rather me eat and cough from allergies than not eat at all. However, around 13 I believe my allergies started to go away. Everything except dairy mostly. I rarely coughed anymore, rarely had headaches, etc. Only some foods still made me nauseous, or only sometimes. Dairy was the only thing left I could say I was probably still allergic to, which causes me itchy ears, coughing, nasal drip, and burning/acidic feeling throat.

I’m 19 now and around March I got a cough. Me and my mom thought maybe it was just a cold or something, she gave me elder berry, nyquil, day quil, for weeks. It hasn’t gone away and stays throughout the day, and I noticed it gets worse after eating. My mom began to notice my coughing would escalate after eating too, mostly processed foods or things that have ingredients I was allergic to. Now I’m coughing all day, I have horrible mucus in my throat after eating, and I react worse to dairy too with my throat burning more. I looked up my symptoms and it also seems like it could be GERD? I really can’t go to a doctor anytime soon, when I can…which will be who knows when…I plan on testing for GERD or allergies again.

But I’m just wondering if it’s possible to become asymptomatic for a while and then the symptoms come back? Or if this sounds like allergies?
