Been away for a month because I was tired of dirty drivers in gold races, did 2 spa races today already seen 3 people blocking, multiple rams and dirty dives and one guy who straight up ended my race so I spectate him hes blocking another driver and when he gets close he pits him and ends his race too lol

Pretty sure he's even playing with a controller as hes jerkin around all over the track

I keep getting told there's an auto ban system, how can he take out 2 people and he's driving around like it was nothing

I just want to be able to race against people who can actually read the rules of the game 🙄

Thought I'd get some races in before other things today, first race algarve guy who wins has 5000 iR meanwhile I'm at about 1700 💀 look down at the list at the end most of them pretty high, went and did some stuff came back a few hours later next race SOF is about 2500 like oh ok and then everyones zooming off and I'm feeling like an MX5 vs GT3 cars 🤣

Is GT3 usually this quiet for paid tracks, Oulten last week was always a fairly decent split nothing crazy like the 2nd race, bottom guy was 800 iR top guy was like 3000

3 lessons in about 4 hours, by the 2nd lesson we are doing roundabouts, national roads, junctions etc and same for the 3rd lesson and I just feel like it's too much but he keeps piling it on

I realised today while driving that I am not relaxed at all and that's why he always tells me to be gentle with the gears, but it's not from intention it's just wanting to get it done while being tensed up

I actually almost snapped at him because he took me to a roundabout and he knows I haven't gotten the clutch/gas speed down yet so I am over cautious because I don't want to bounce it or stall but when I'm already tense and he's constantly saying you missed a gap repeatedly and internally I'm screaming "I fucking know" and saying come on get going etc

I dunno, is it me? I really don't know, I just feel like that lesson was awful and I actually couldn't wait to get out of that car at one point even thinking should I even bother learning at all if this is what it will be

I feel like instead of practicing the basics even a little I've been thrown in at the deepest end possible and then being picked up on things I've messed up because I haven't had really any practice 💀

So I've had an issue which is both here and here in short, randomly PC will boot loop at idle or very low usage

PSU originally was found faulty so I replaced it, one month later the issue has shown up again exact same symptoms random boot looping to the degree I've had the electrics for the house checked to make sure it wasn't dirty signal or resistance somewhere but was found fine

I was plugging in USBs earlier just to try one by one on the mobo and it did a boot loop when I plugged it in until I unplugged it but it did not do it again later when I tried again

only USBs right now in the mobo are keyboard and mouse, audio was plugged in front USB C on the case still did it

did memtest this morning passed 4 fine

previously had no GPU in wouldn't boot either (old PSU)

I don't know what it could be other than the motherboard but genuinely killing me trying to work this out, worst fault I've ever had for diagnosing as there is just 0 event viewer info other than critical power and nothing else

About to go elbow deep to check the power cables are clipped in.... again, just to be quad sure it's not loose contact somehow after a month of not being moved

So a month or so ago I posted this and in the end sent back the PSU, was confirmed faulty and got a refund, bought another worked fine since

Today the SAME fault happened once, PC has worked fine since no boot loops so far after hours of being left on

I've even had an electrician come and test the fuse box and circuit in the room of the PC both are fine so I can rule that out

Is there anything else that could cause this random sleep mode turn off + boot looping at random under low usage that I can't think of, or am I just the king of faulty PSU purchases?

I can't think of anything else that would cause this type of behaviour other than bad a bad PSU, which this has already been found with my last one, but in less than a month of use? 😭

How in the ever living clutch do you manage to see P2 flash but not me, why would you MOVE for P2 but not me and why would you not let off the gas a little, and why would you go ah the guys almost past I'll turn into him

I just wanted my first damn win, I've been playing for 4 months, 4 laps to go the other guy needed to pit I didn't but no, some lap down warning badge scumbag doesn't know how to act in a blue flag and cannot somehow see me in his rear view or even the radar at the side

I am just gonna go back to iRacing at this rate, the pure lack of moderation of this dangerous trash driving unless they int wreck you is a joke but even if you pay a sub you can only do a few well moderated events a week?? I would happily just pay a sub to have better moderation on all events, tired of having rules that basically mean nothing in 99% of races

I downloaded the season schedule but doesn't show anything for the GT3 challenge etc, wanting to buy the tracks in advance and have a go around

Is there a way to see them? or just waiting until Tuesday, been trying to find them since the 13th week started 😅

I haven't driven in a decade, life got in the way and decided I just wanted to get it done and over with as the practical test changes should make it a bit easier to book (i hope)

Anyway to my surprise he drove me to a wide 40 limit road, within about 10ish minutes I'm doing 40 up to 4th gear and he's spinning it around to get used to moving off and stopping etc (my sim racing brain took over first stop and applied slightly too much brake pressure but at least I'll be alright for an E-stop 🤣)

Then went to a quieter 20 limit loop and went around a few times, lots of cars on either side, narrow roads, buses, slight hills up and down (had to do one mini hill start as I had to give way to a van)

Stalled once but that was the braking above which was my fault, honestly felt like a lot I was pretty tired after it, my description was like patting my head, rubbing my stomach while looking over my shoulder and doing a jig with my feet

Just trying to gauge if this is normal for a first lesson now, ideally aiming for around Sept/Oct to pass with 2h lessons each time but no idea what lessons are like anymore as it's been too long, I was told on average its about 30-40 hours for passing but obviously that is going to vary, ideally lower but don't want to rush for no reason

You buy the game, you load it up, you play for months, you get good SR and a safety badge, bronze races become top split, not fun always at the back feels fruitless

Go higher SR races, gain DR, game puts you in higher splits, also 0 chance to win or even podium, feels fruitless

And that's if you survive the hyper/LMP2 terrorists, literally just retired a race as I was already at the back having pitted early to miss everyone elses pit window but still have fuel left, going round paul richard hyper knocks me out of the corner and just sails straight on and I just thought what is the point

Either you play bronze top splits where people do alien times because you drive safe, or you do long races higher SR where people are on average faster so you have no chance either and thats IF some idiot doesn't drive through you

I've been playing for like 4 months now and I have had 1 podium lmao my lap times aren't the best but it feels like the more I improve the more the goal post just moves with it and it's like be alien or never win or even have a chance to win, its depressing

It's been pretty consistent since I started a few months back but in races that are 1/2.4h long it's wearing thin

They just barely manage to force themselves into the corner from half a second back or even more and expect you to just wait because they took a corner basically vertically (final corner/hairpin paul richard) or cut straight into your line as a FU and expect you to slow down and wait

Last race a guy did the paul richard hairpin cut, he was so slow out of that corner i bumped him because i didnt think it was physically possible to go so slow he was parked, 1st corner I overtake on inside he pushes me off track after 2nd and wouldn't let me back on

Is there any point in me doing races that aren't championship, or long team races like 4h+ as those feel like the ONLY place people don't do dumb dive bombs on nearly every corner until either A. they kill themselves or B. they get past you because you don't want to die

I like the majority of drivers in this game, you can race close with a lot but my god the idiots really stand out and it gets so tiring to have to drive in the rear view

Forgot to post this yesterday but went to register for the multiclass race at portimao and with about 7 minutes before starting there were only about 8 GT3 cars signed up lol

Unusual or people actually dislike it? I was surprised, unregistered myself as driving with barely half a grid would be kinda pointless

Like they aren't supposed to be in team events, even though they were the last 2 team events which was weird

But why are they even allowed in the ones like the 2.4h of le mans? If they can't race short races clean, I don't get why they are allowed to pollute the long races where it matters more to race clean

I did 2x 2.4h races today, both times some guy lunging at gaps that don't exist and either I let them go because I'd like to live or they dive into a gap that doesn't exist at the last minute and punt me anyway

They usually end up dying and ending DNF or DQ so I legit don't know why they are allowed in anyway and costing people positions that they wouldn't lose if they weren't trying to keep the vettel and verstappen fans at arms length

So today my pc was not in sleep mode it had gone off no big deal, turn it on, 5m into light browsing complete shutdown, no error recorded in event viewer, again turned off in sfc scan and boot looped, wouldn't turn on at all after that

Cleared the CMOS, reset settings, boot into windows, sfc scan complete, almost 2 hours of prime95 blend test it shuts off again, I've now updated the BIOS from the feb version to most recent and will now shut it off to reseat all cables to be sure it's not that but failing that looking for any other bits of advice

Long story short I have a relative who was seemingly given away at birth as he appears with a random family in Birmingham UK, I paid for the GRO image of his birth and it shows his mother but no father

Her name and surname annoyingly could be spelled at least 3 different ways and I have tried wild carding them and looking for her birth, marriage, even death, census records, nothing can't find even a whiff of her anywhere and it's driving me insane

It's not even that long ago he would have been born in 1890, I had less pain going back to early 1600s for another branch but this is a hard dead end 😭

I have ordered a DNA test kit as a bit of fun to see who pops up and I'm really hoping someone around Birmingham will pop up with a surname like hers to narrow it down but, failing that what else can I potentially do? I enjoy looking up relatives but so far I've not had one just vanish into nothing barely 100 years ago

Is there a better way to find a smaller close knit team? I'd rather have some regular people to play with for team events than potentially be #1942 or something equally comical 😅

Was in a practice where a guy would go off track cut in front of you to come back on and then weave to block you overtaking, when I finally did get by he then just took me out

As I was typing out some choice words because it was very deliberate and dangerous of him to even get behind a wheel I look at the replay and he isn't in it

He also isn't in the lobby, did he get scrubbed clean?
