AV Club changes article title talking about Lanterns co-creator's involvement in the Iraq War

Article in question: https://www.avclub.com/tom-king-cia-iraq-supergirl-lanterns

for those unaware, famous comic book writer for Batman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and now the upcoming Lanterns TV series is an ex-CIA agent who gleefully talked about his role in starting the Iraq war before it became unpopular to do so. Here's how he describes it in his own words:

“I was 22 at the time in charge of the [f——] Iraq invasion,” King said in an interview with wordballoon on YouTube.

In a GamesRadar interview, he said: “It was the greatest honor of my life. I very much enjoyed the job.”

Quotes from an article on The Poly Post titled "We’ve normalized war criminals, now they’re writing comics".

Looking to buy a human drawn printable tarot deck! Any suggestions?

Hello! I'm searching for a nice looking printable tarot deck to use in one of my D&D campaigns but I keep searching and finding so much stuff that's machine made (iykyk) and I'm looking for something with a human touch made by an artist. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

First time DMing, players asked for more story, exploration, and improv/rp opportunities.

Hello! first time posting here and would appreciate any help or tips.

I am a new DM (and new to D&D in general) and I convinced my group of friends to sit down and play with me. As it was my first time, I decided to run the Dragons of Stormwreck Isle module. We had more players than I was expecting (5) and in the first session they opted to go to the Shipwreck of Compass Rose first, I added the encounters as they were in the module and I think I didn't really scale the combat accordingly because the battles were all fairly quick and they managed to steamroll through most of the enemies.

The party went through the ship and I followed the module, what was in each room, what loot they found, there were a couple of puzzles etc. And then they finished, took the talisman to the grave and ended the first quest and we wrapped up for the day.

Overall they all said they had a great time, I did prepare intensively and I threw in some jokes and funny bits here and there to add some levity. i asked for some feedback and a few of them said that they would've liked more story, more exploration, more investigating/puzzles, and more opportunities for them to improv and roleplay as their characters.

So I'm unsure if they're saying this because I failed to make the combat engaging enough for 5 players by not scaling the enemies properly, or if sticking to module and the encounters outlined was the cause of this, and if it was, I'm not sure how to go about the rest of the campaign and come up with more ways for them to rp or just explore and such. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I really want my pcs to have a good time

[Online] [5e 2014 or 2024] New player looking for a campaign to join and gain experience (GMT+3)

Hello, I'm new-ish to DnD and I've played a few Westmarch style one-shots so I have most of the basics down. I'm hoping to find a group or a campaign to join that's close to my timezone since all the ones I've found so far are US based and don't align with my work schedule :( I'm usually free at 10pm GMT+3 until 2am GMT+3.

A bit about myself, I'm 29, queer, and my playstyle is more exploration and combat focused, I'm still getting used to RP myself but I enjoy it when other players RP. I have a level 3 wood elf sorcerer character that I'm looking to play with but I'm also down to crafting a new character depending on the scenario/party!

Discord servers for European timezone players?

Hello! I'm new-ish to DnD and would love to find some servers with a more EU centric playerbase for timezone reasons. I've joined a couple of servers and have played a few one-shots here and there but they always started really late and ran till morning for me. So I'd love to find something more reasonable. Would appreciate any help!

After watching "Go For It, Nakamura-kun!!" I realized what I've been missing from BL anime, so I'm looking for some recommendations!

Hello! So I recently watched Go For It, Nakamura-kun and I really, really enjoyed it. It was super cute and really hilarious. And something stuck out to me that made it stand out from other BLs I've watched, Nakamura is gay, and says he's gay from episode 1, and knows he has feelings for Hirose.

A lot of times, I feel like main characters in BL have this super drawn out storyline before admitting they have feelings for each other, and even then they're still rejecting their queerness a lot of the times. I was watching Sasaki and Miyano the other day, and several episodes in, despite Sasaki telling Miyano he likes him multiple times, and asking to kiss him, Miyano is still questioning if he even likes Sasaki this way. And then he asks Sasaki if he likes guys and the latter says "no". Like what?!

I think the reason this strikes me as weird is because I am a queer man. And I've known I was queer since I was 9 and by the time I was in highschool I was very much like Nakamura. I had this huge crush on a boy and tried to be friends with him to be closer to him. But at that point, I had come to terms with my identity, my feelings, and who I was. And I know not everyone experiences queerness in this way, but it still strikes me as odd when I watch a BL and there's two grown up characters who are having their first same sex attraction when they meet each other and there's been no signs at all throughout their lives. Or like in Miyano's case, being a huge (self described) fudanshi but never having thought about his own sexuality or why he enjoys BL so much.

Anyway, I was wondering if you had any BL anime or live action recommendations where the characters are fully queer, either to themselves or to the outside world. Something that skips over the whole "woah this is the first boy I ever liked what could this possibly mean" arc. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it just doesn't appeal to me personally. I hope no one takes offense to the things I've said I'm just sharing my own experiences and what kind of stories I'd like to see in BL. that's all!

a TV show tracking app I've been using for a decade is sunsetting and I need an alternative asap

Hey all, I've been a TV Time user for a decade now and they just announced they're shutting down their servers in 2 weeks so I need to find a tv show tracking app to migrate my data to as soon as possible.

- Letterboxd is not very good with TV shows. It lists every season as its own thing and I don't really like that

- I tried to use Serializd but it's way too buggy

- Preferably would love an app that also has a desktop site as well since I'm on my computer a lot

- Needs to have an episode by episode tracking so I can see where I left off

- if it has tabs like "Watch list" "To-Watch" "Watch Later" etc that would be a huge plus
