I am currently reading Complexity: A Guided Tour by Melanie Mitchell and since it was published in 2009, I am wondering if there are more “modern”/“up-to-date” intro books.

I was talking with someone about what leftism means and they objected to my use of phrasing that leftism is opposed to any/all forms of coercion (amongst other things) because a revolution will have to use a coercive level of force to achieve liberation. Poking through Zoe Baker’s Means and Ends I noticed that in a few places that the term command is used in place of coercion and it (at least from my perspective) seems like command was used earlier in Anarchist History while coercion replaced command as time went on.
Don’t know if I am incorrect or missing something, but was curious if anyone had any insight into the usage of command, its correlation to coercion, and why (at least from my perspective) modern-day anarchism has done-away with command and sticks with coercion.
I’ve hear that Conquest of Bread can be a tough read for new people so I am considering suggesting What Is Communist Anarchism by Alexander Berkman instead of (or before) Conquest of Bread.

Hey Everyone! A fellow Anarchist and myself are forming an anarchist book club and I have a question for you all. We’ve complied a list of items and are curious on what order we should read them in. We have a few people who know nothing of anarchism coming to the meeting so we suggested the You May Already Be Done by Graeber to have read ahead of time and we will read same title by Slow Burning Fuse at the meeting.
I’ve provided some screenshots of the our list. Currently have them sorted by category of What is anarchism, state-ism, power analysis, and anthropology.

I am looking for a quote (forget the author) that is something to the effect that because we can’t determine the actual input/output of each individual across society/the world it is illogical to try to do a labor voucher system since all labor produces all things therefore all goods should be shared in common.
