My game is now free!

My game is now free!

Why? Well, there was a lot of feedback—and I’ve incorporated a lot of it—so I want to share that with all of you! It would be super cool if you downloaded it for free!

I've made a few improvements to a game! what do you think of it?

I received a lot of feedback on my game yesterday, so I decided to take the criticism to heart and make some improvements:

The controls were criticized because the game could only be played with a keyboard; I’ve addressed this, and the game now has full controller support. It plays best with a PS5 controller, though any other controller works too.

There was also criticism regarding the fact that the game was limited to PC/laptop; there is now an Android APK version available. While it doesn't have touch controls, it can be played using a controller.

I’ve also made slight adjustments to the animations, though I plan to overhaul them completely—that will take some time, however. Many people felt the game seemed "raw" or unfinished. While that might be true for the web demo—since it’s based on a much older build than the full version—I understand where that impression comes from. So, here’s what I’d like to do: anyone interested can send me a message, and I’ll send them a free download key for the game. I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvement; my goal is to get the game into better shape and turn it into a truly great indie title.

I believe the story is the game's strongest point, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. A lot of work went into the cutscenes, in particular, and I’m curious to know if you think they tell the story effectively.

I’d be thrilled if some of you would join me on this journey with the game and share your feedback.

I'm a huge fan of the green-haired guy, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

What can I say? I’m a huge fan of "Broccoli"! And for anyone who doesn't know who I'm talking about: Joos, the green-haired ex-partner... He’s a legend, and I firmly believe he was right, that he was treated poorly, and that he’s actually a really cool guy!

I’m so obsessed with this idea that I even created a video game character inspired by him. You can accuse me of a lot of things, but certainly not a lack of love for the character—I mean, how many hated side characters from manhwas have actually been turned into characters in indie pixel games?

The character actually has a backstory, too: just like Broccoli, he’s the ex-partner of the main character—or in this case, the female protagonist!

If you want to see what I’m talking about, just Google "Euli Beuli STRIKE" or "Quaily Comic by ROEGA." I don’t want to post links here because this isn't meant to be an ad; I just wanted to show the extent of my obsession with this character!

I made an action-platformer about a corporation secretly turning humans into combat machines

I’ve created an action-platformer called RED KITE, featuring a deep story and hand-crafted pixel art.

The game follows Enya Vance, a neuroscientist at the corporation NeoTerra. One day, she discovers discrepancies in autopsy reports and realizes that NeoTerra is using her breakthroughs to turn human brains into mindless combat machines. She disappears during her investigation, and you step into the role of her friend to rescue her!

Does that sound cool? If so, now is the perfect time to play RED KITE; all versions are currently available for free, and I’d really appreciate some feedback—especially on the story!

A game jam for already completed games

I’ve always had an issue with game jams on Itch.io! Why? Because "older" games—those not developed specifically for the jam—can't participate. While that’s fair, it leaves me wondering how else to get my games in front of a wide audience and actually get them rated.

So, I decided to host my own jam: the "Competition for Completed Games." Now, there’s just one thing missing... people to actually take part!

With the World Cup happening, I thought it would be fun to give the event a World Cup theme—but that doesn't work without participants! So, submit your games to the jam and win the "World Championship" for already-finished games ;)

I like Joo's ex-partner so much that I even created a game character based on him.

Hi, I’m the guy—the only person in the world—who sympathizes with Joo’s ex-partner. To simplify things, let’s call him Broccoli!

Broccoli is an incredibly empathetic and likable person who was taken advantage of by Joo; however, that’s not the point here, as I’ve already voiced this—admittedly unpopular—opinion plenty of times on this forum!

Because I feel such strong sympathy for him, I even included a character based on Broccoli in one of the games I publish on Itch.io.

To wrap things up: Broccoli is neither a sex worker nor a bad person in any way; he simply told the truth, and we all know it!

Looking for playtesters for my most elaborate game yet.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for playtesters for my latest game, *RED KITE*. I released the full version yesterday, and I’d be really happy if some of you could play it and let me know what works well and what might still need some tweaking.

It’s really important for me to emphasize that this game holds great personal significance for me; a huge amount of work went into it, and the story is—given my capabilities—quite deep.

I tried using pre-rendered 3D backgrounds for the cutscenes—my first-ever attempt at 3D modeling—so feel free to evaluate the anatomy and such in those as well.

I’m looking forward to your feedback! You can play the full version for free online or download it as a .gw file. Thanks in advance!

RED KITE, a story-rich action platformer

Today, I finished the biggest game I’ve ever created.

The game features a moving story and action-packed gameplay; feel free to check it out if you're interested.

My most extensive game to date: RED KITE, a Metroidvania.

Hi everyone! RED KITE is my biggest game to date; it’s an action-platformer with a strong focus on the story.

It features plenty of cutscenes with pre-rendered 3D backgrounds, cool dialogue, and—in my opinion—great gameplay.

Since the game is still in development, only a playable demo (up to Level 10) is available right now. The full game isn't launching until June 20th, so please bear with any bugs or errors—I’ll be addressing those.

I’d really appreciate feedback on the story, as that’s where I put the most work in, as well as any other suggestions or ideas for improvement.

A small demo for my biggest game yet! RED KITE

My most ambitious game to date, RED KITE, is coming out on June 20th, but I’ve released a short demo on the itch.io page to gather some initial feedback.

You might come across a few bugs or other issues; please just let me know, and try not to be too nitpicky—as I said, the game is still in development.

I’d especially appreciate it if you could rate the story and the cutscenes; even better ones are on the way, but they’ll only be in the finished game.

I am looking for developers for my virtual console, GameWare.

GameWare is a virtual, web-based console for HTML5 games. Games are converted into a .gw file format that can only be run through the GameWare player.

This allows developers to securely offer their HTML5 games as downloads without worrying about easy copying, while also giving their game a real “console” feeling. The GameWare branding can also increase players’ willingness to pay for HTML5 games.

How it works: Just send me your HTML5 file, I convert it into a .gw file, and you can publish it. Everything is completely free.

There will also be shared marketing for all GameWare titles.

For more information, check out the full post:

Hi everyone,

I’ve been spending some time working with 32×32 pixel art lately, mainly focusing on simple platformer-style assets. It’s actually really interesting how much you can do with such a small resolution, especially when everything has to stay clean and readable on a grid.

Trying to make different themes feel distinct while keeping everything consistent is probably the hardest part. Things like colors, contrast, and small details make a huge difference even with just a few pixels.

I’m still experimenting and learning, but it’s been a fun process so far. Would be cool to hear how others approach small-scale pixel art or what you find most challenging about it.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hi everyone,

I have published my first hand-drawn comic, it is completely free and a lot of effort went into the work. There are two “issues”, each very short but very lovingly made.

I hope you like the comic, I would be very happy about feedback, please don’t tear apart my non-existent drawing skills too much and if you like it, feel free to leave a small rating.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
