BoTD: Chloe Lexa Satchel

When work is the usually the only occasion I need to dress for, I also dress for my bag. Today’s vibe is the Chloe Lexa Satchel in this beautiful red suede, and so I went with an old Billabong dress, a hand-knitted cardigan from goodwill, some vintage Timberland boots and a Free People barn jacket. How did I do?

Finished my second journal

Just finished my second journal tonight, and I can’t describe the sense of joy and accomplishment I feel, mixed with a pinch of sadness after all the months I spent pouring my heart into these pages.

On my last entry I thanked my journal for being my safe place and allowing me to grow and still be myself. I feel like it’s a part of me and I look forward to continuing this journal journey with my new journal.

Green Pigeons are so pretty!

Can you imagine if these were the pigeons we saw on the daily? They’re so pretty!! (Even our rock dove/common pigeons are cute too)

Also, we really need to have a pigeon emoji!

Ferry ride view

Just completed a drawing of a pretty house by the water. Maybe one day I’ll own a house by the water but until then, I can draw and dream.

The morning sun on Rivendell

The other morning, I witnessed the morning sun cast a soft gentle light on the Rivendell Lego set, and honestly, it was magical and I just wanted to share.

A beautiful warm spring day, and I thought it would be great to dress in some floral blues and take my Mulberry Alexa bag in this beautiful floral patterned jacquard fabric out on an adventure today. Added some flower charms for a nice spring feeling 🩵💙💐✨

Felt like drawing an okapi (it’s like a deer, zebra and giraffe all blended together) and this is what happened. She’s cute but shy, so please be nice!

Another month in the books (or pages, in this case), and while going through the motions, I felt like this month’s entries were a bit underwhelming compared to the previous months, as though I needed to surpass myself and pass this imaginative finish line into the next level,…but in all honestly, just looking at my journaling for April, I realize that the goal is to just continue to do this loved hobby as long as it doesn’t take away from who I am. My achievement doesn’t need to be measured by how many beautiful artworks I do or by how many likes I get, rather as long as it continues to give me peace, happiness and a sense of accomplishment just from simply doing it self, that’s all that matters.

And I think I did just that, and wanted to share my work to hopefully inspire others to not be too hard on themselves, and then you’ll see all the growth you’re making.

Stay safe and loved, friends!

Please excuse me while I obsess over my humble collection of Marc Jacobs Fulton Satchel bag from his Wellington Collection. I know I’ve posted here before during Marc Jacobs’s birthday but I felt like I had to post again.

These bags are, give or take, around 15 years old, and decorated with the bag charms, they have so much personality and a lot of life to live.

I’m considering them my version of the vintage Coach Turnlock Haversack bags that have blown up on the reseller’s markets right now,…only, I don’t care if these will ever get as popular or if Marc Jacobs is planning on revamping this style the way Chloe brought back the Paddington bag, (but if he does, that will be amazing). I am happy that I was able to snag these bags for so much cheaper than ever (the teal one didn’t have its original strap, so it was marked down to $30, and the brown and yellow one were each $50).

More than buying to resell, simply finding the bags that you’ve adored for years and making them yours is priceless. I love classic over trending, and that makes me happy. And I think that’s all that matters—if the bag brings you happiness, that’s all that matters.
