Hi so i am currently sitting for my placments and interview and all and it will get over by next month, i wanted to know how can i actually become better swe esp like infra and large scale systems kinda stuff after these months before i actually join some company. Have basic familiarity with python backend stack. But i want to maximise my learning and ownership in these few months, OSS is something i should be doing but i am not sure which ones to look at?Or maybe look for some internship for couple of months!

Should i rather utilise this time to rather get deeper into dbms internals, distibuted system papers ?There are good resources for this online but I miss the experience section in my resume to be honest!

Hearing lots of companies are not coming this time. I shortlisted some companies to apply based on prev year pu chronicles but hearing those aren't coming makes me concerned.

SO i am 22, M, 68kg, 6 feet 3 inches, so basically underweight/skinny for my height. I have pretty fast metabolism and on top of that my eating habits aren't regular(like skipping meals and not eating more are issue). I am looking to go to gym(prev i have been for couple of months). This time looking to continue and have changes physically, rn i am in college final year so have placements related stuff apart from it i am free, so can u tell what my progress realisitically should look like and what are do/donts ?

I am from engineering background and was taking a humanities course on Cinematic arts, unfortunately i haven't been able to keep up with the course, but is there a way a person like me develops the taste and exposure to art?

Okkay with AI writing the code, the incentive to code by hand decreases a lot, i wanted to know how do u become at level of staff+ engineer from this? I am currently a fresher and when i read about distributed systems or large scale systems its evident that just with AI i would reach level where i can understand these things( by understanding i mean build from scratch), what is right way to code in this AI era?

So this course got updated recently i just wanted to know if i can access the homeworks somehow as they havent been uploaded.I am not a stanford student btw.

Which one to go for, ucb seems more rigourous but lectures are of 2023, while cs224r uploads are recent.If i can mix these two courses whats the way to go for?

HI i wanted to know what are the topics that are to be prepared for core ML part for MLE/ML roles(for fresher, although idts it matters that much). There a lot of topics specific to interview which I havent prepared so can anyone help with that?

4th incoming confused between going for placements vs PS2. Going through prev year list PS2 has better companies, is it ok if i skip most of placements company(barring a few i have shortlisted) and sit for the PS2?

Basically i am able to write recursive sol to DP and tabulation is smth which takes me quite some time, any way to get faster at it???

So my internship at remote job ended as i couldnt keep up with the pace(i asked it to end myself) it was couple of weeks into it only, something which I got from cold mailing. But this exposed me to even further issue of me being not ready and lacking the skillsets.This is fixable but I have been taking Ls for so many years now that everything feels to break me down, idk when is the last time I was happy or without worry maybe before covid but I dont have memories of it. I want to keep crying but god will be having placments coming up in couple of weeks so can't even cry. Why am i so dysfunctional? Confidence or lack of it is visible in my eyes. It feels my hope is also losing, I just want to be for once. I don't want to end up hating everything I have, I want to change, but why even am I atp here. Someone please tell it will get fine. I take 1 step ahead and move 10 backwards, my internal monolgue has become so pessimistic that I affects my relationships with myself and others. I feel so alone, being around family feels so distinct, being feels so distinct. Idk where i am going or wandering.Sometimes i feel to lose all hope and last bit of ambition left but always get glimpses of what could have been !!

PS - I know the current theme is of protest(FUCK that education minister first of all), but sorry for not being able to have enough bandwidth for that. I have been basically lying on bed for past 2 days staring at wall or the feed.

Currently will be going to my 4th year, i intend to work for couple of years then pursue higher studies, but this can change.Wanted to know my chances at diff uni(both for ms and phd).Also what to do in 4th year to maximise my profile.

What should be my next step, OSS of mlsys projects? Getting work ex at reputed company, maybe leave worshop and target main conf?

Hi I currently got 2 months intern at a startup based in US (remote ). The work of company seems to be very fast paced. Team and founder pedidgree is top notch. So overall very ambitious and high learning and ownership env. Pay is also good ig?(somwhere between 80k - 110k inr stipend per month ). My clg will have placments and all in upcoming 1/2 months. I am not fully prepare for dsa/OA stuff but hopefully by then I will be. My concern is should I continue with this one or opt for some companies oncampus? Some ups and downs of both the path. Also one major concern is that currently in these companies my work is sde related but my profile has been aligned to more mle sort of stuff. So there is slight divergence in type of roles i want to follow in future. So for mle from my clg, mostly I am looking for sarvam, amazon AS, apple, and couple of other companies. What should I do ?

PS - like my long term goal is working as research scientist at good labs/neolabs or work with ml systems/research related companies .Current role helps with cloud and infra part ig but for ml systems I might have to keep learning stuff on my own !!
