I learned that Zues' eyes look odd for a very specific reason. When his colony was rescued from the park, his eyelashes were ingrown.
He needed surgery to fix it, and sacrificed part of his eyelids to not wind up blind.
A tough odd bird. See if you can get him worked up.. he's actually a marshmallow who lives for scritches and is a fountain of drool.

Do we self edit here, or are we grown up enough to see words like die, rape, and murder without feeling like they've happened to us?
First time posting here, and I'm curious if I'm alone in thinking that using bowdlerized terms like r@pe, su#<ide and such are complete bullshit?
Obscuring the word does not make the thing go away. It does not diminish the pain of the victim(s). All it serves to do is add a layer of noise and denial to allow a completely false sense of safety or distance.
If we're too weak and sensitive to use the damn words, we're far too weak and sensitive to solve the underlying problems that cause the bad things to happened in the first place.

Car chases are mandatory and JIM ALWAYS DRIVES.

JIM'S FIREBIRD IS IMMORTAL.

Jim is often at odds with the law.

Jim's legal woes ALWAYS immediately end when the real suspect is unmasked.

Angel is very often trouble.

Angel always comes through.. except when he doesn't.

Dennis is totally fed up with Jim's nonsense, always, and the Chief of Police HATES JIM'S GUTS.

Jim does NOT get involved in active police investigations (unless they involve him AND OR until he decides to get involved in an active police investigation because no one else can do it).

When Jim doesn't drive, he can fold space and travel instantly.

Jim knows about tubthumping.
