When I was 10 years old, my mother told me, "I hope you and your father die on the plane" because I was going to Florida with my dad. A decade later, I have a fear of planes, and I declined a trip months prior for going to Florida with my mom and younger sister, and now the whole family got mad I said no, and my mom's excuse for her saying that cruel comment was because she was "angry," and now she pretends like nothing happened.
