What to do with this area now the trees have been removed

Had to remove four massive dead red oaks that were in jeopardy of taking out my power lines, but now I’m “stumped “ on how to deal with the area.

Convince me this is a bad idea….

This is my Canyon Stiched Pro360 that I bought used this winter as a project build. This is my second dj bike and I’m setting it up for the conditions I’m riding lately. So my plan is to run a staggered set of Downhill tires on it, 2.4 on the front and 2.2 on the rear. Why you ask? I’ve been riding a few trails here in the Northeast that are , how do I say, less than desirable as far as maintenance. The dirt jumps are pretty rough, not your typical smooth manicured jumps , with roots, rocks and loose berms. So my theory is to try dh tires. Am I wasting my money here?

Sweet sixteen gift ideas? Please help

My friends are having a sweet sixteen birthday party this Saturday and my wife and I are completely clueless! We’re both in our fifties don’t have any kids if our own and have never been to one of these. What’s an appropriate gift? I thought four or five hundred bucks in an envelope but my wife said that’s ridiculous, that I suggested something classic like a pair or pearl earrings, that suggestion also got crushed. So what’s a “cool” nice gift that’s not to over the top but not to boring either?

I got hurt at work, and now my boss, HR and the company’s insurance is going full radio silence

Been with this company four years as a heavy equipment mechanic and never had an issue with management , my boss or my workmates. Suffered a back injury on the job a few weeks ago and notified my supervisor immediately, and have been basically shunned by the entire company since. It took my supervisor 5 days to email me an accident report, and it’s been like pulling teeth ever since to get information on health insurance, medical treatment and compensation. I recently discovered (after contacting the state workers comp department) my claim was never reported. I decided to report it myself and now complete radio silence from my employer. What do I do? Get a lawyer? Contact the labor board? So much bureaucratic red tape to get through not to mention I need my wife to help me put my socks and shoes on in the morning. So frustrating

WANTED! Looking for some 1.5”-2” steel angle iron

Maybe a few pieces of expanded steel as well, just enough to build a step fender on a small trailer. Been using Falls Fittings and Newburgh Steel for decades, but recent financial situation making both suppliers out of reach. Any other recommendations that might be a little more affordable? I know steel is expensive so before we get to stating the obvious please be helpful instead of hateful, thanks everyone.

Replaced roof vent today, highly recommend Camp’N replacement

$21 during Amazon Prime, all new guide , gusset and fasteners included. Thing I like the most is how much more robust the plastic is compared to the oem my trailer came with.

Does anyone know of a bike park in the Hudson Valley like this one at Killington that has lift service and trails like this, besides Mt. Creek?

I’m looking to finally build a platform with storage underneath for a mattress, can you share pics of yours so I can get some inspiration?

This is my 6’X10’ that I’ve been using for a few seasons now, and typically just inflate this queen size air mattress on the floor and call it a day but it’s really not working out for me and my wife anymore. I’ve looked into a few different options ,and was thinking about building it from wood first off, with some storage space under the foam mattress perhaps some of you have already done this? Please share your pictures of what you built.

What’s my bike worth?

It’s a 2002 K2 Attack 2.0, everything works as it should. Was thinking of putting it on marketplace for $100 but really not sure how much an artifact like this is worth.

Recently did an 11 day solo trip that started in North Creek and ended a little west of Raquette Lake.

What an amazing time, the Adirondacks never seem to disappoint. My trip was really unplanned and I just wanted to search some of the areas I’m familiar with in search of bike trails. Technically I started in Wheelerville at the bike park and camped at state campgrounds along the way. The weather was pleasant with a few spotty thunderstorms but nothing unusual. I was prepared for the black fly season, but they really only seemed bad on a couple mornings and I was thankful for that. Thanks to the folks I met on the way ,if you’re reading, and thanks to the staff at the ADKX who let me replenish my fresh water supply.

If I’m buying a $100,000 car and my trade is $50,000 do I pay tax on the remaining 50k or the new car value?

Oh and I’m in New York if that’s a factor!

If I buy a car for $100,000 and trade one in for $25,000 do I pay tax on the remaining $75,000?

Not sure if I am taxed for the remainder after said trade or the new car value, oh and I’m located in New York if that makes a difference.

SeaLander, anyone have any experience with these?

I’m seriously considering buying one of these but researching and gathering as much information about it first. Has anyone owned one ,or camped in one?

This is ÖlgA, my 1992 240.

It was my first and only Volvo, I loved her for two years and regrettably sold her. I live in a small town and see the new owner joyfully driving her from time to time.

Trip 11, roof vent rod poked through the cover

Not sure how it happened, it some how lost the track wheel and went completely through the dome. I was all set up (vent open), started to rain and I went in and noticed it, maybe a strong wind gust? Anyway I got crafty with a garbage bag and some gorilla tape for a temporary fix.
