Just an awful outcome to a brazen robbery on Fleet Street.

“The 60-year-old man and 76-year-old woman were assaulted and robbed around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Fleet Street. Police said the couple had just eaten breakfast at Broadway Market and were walking through the neighborhood.

A statement by organizers of Thursday's vigil said the couple has been a part of the Fells Point community for more than 35 years. During that time, "they have become familiar and beloved faces to residents, neighborhood businesses and their employees," the statement said. 

Community members said the couple had long been supportive of restaurants, shops, artists and institutions in Fells Point.”

“The retailer plans to invest $370 million in its move to Philadelphia, according to Pennsylvania officials, and is set to receive another $30 million in state grants, as well as a $7 million forgivable loan and a job-creation tax credit from the city.

The company is buying property at 3151 Market St., an office and lab building in Brandywine Realty Trust’s Schuylkill Yards development, where it will set up its new headquarters, according to an announcement from Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration.

The governor called the move “the largest headquarters relocation to the city in years.”"
