Been having more fun with the game after I started taking things slow and stopped playing to earn money

I know this likely isn't a new or amazing concept but I wanted to talk about it anyway. I haven't played the game in a while. I re-downloaded it recently with the intent to play the story mode but wanted to have a look at the new things in Online and it's done its thing and kind of dragged me back in.

I used to play the game way too efficiently. I'd get in, immediately spawn in my Oppressor Mk 2 (I still hate this thing), and fly over everything and methodically collect all my money from my businesses then just grind for money. I optimized the fun out of it and it was even more of a drag when I had to deal with people who spend all their time blowing up people's deliveries and missions.

But I got back in a few days ago and I've just stopped caring about earning money in any kind of efficient way (I used to grind Cayo Perico and the thought of doing that heist even one more time depresses me). I've been focusing on replacing my modern super cars with classic cars (I've really been loving the Coquette Classic, Dominator GTT and Benefactor Glendale) and putting together fun outfits. I've been trying to go for an 80's style and just cruising around in my classic cars and 80's style outfits, not going as fast as I can everywhere I go has been really fun. If anyone has any suggestions for other classic cars I'd love to hear them too.

I did get a reminder of why I still don't enjoy open lobbies, because I tried on two separate occasions to do a car wash job and the first time someone waited outside the car wash with a sticky bomb to blow up the car I was meant to deliver, and the second time someone blew me up with a railgun from a skyscraper. I still don't understand why people play the game like this.

I guess I'm just trying to say that the game is a lot more fun when you slow down and stop caring about efficiency. Just do what is fun in the moment instead of grinding if you want a change of pace :)

I have an interview for an IT apprenticeship next week and they said I'll be given a small task to do, would anyone have an idea of what it might end up being?

I know there's no way of knowing exactly what they'll ask of me, but I'm hoping someone will at least have an idea. I have a basic understanding of computer usage but I don't really know anything advanced (which is why I want an apprenticeship) so I'm a little nervous about it. It's IT support for a small school if that helps.

Edit: Thanks for the responses everyone, it's good to know that they're likely going to be looking at how I deal with it, not if I get the right answer.

I’m certain this is an album cover but I’m drawing a blank on which one it is

I saw it in the background of a YouTube video (thats why its so low quality, sorry) and I know I recognise it but I just can’t remember the name or any of the songs

Been on and off trying to get into programming for the past several years, would Python be a good starting point?

I've tried several times to get into programming for many years but I always bounce off it, most likely because I never fully tried to just sit down and put my head down and focus (ADHD does NOT help). I would follow tutorials and by the end I'd have working code but I wouldn't understand any of it.

I want to actually start properly, and I'm considering Python. I've heard that it's one of the easier languages to learn and the syntax (not sure if that's the right word haha) is similar to other more commonly used languages so it'd be a good starting point. I also read that a good book to learn about it is Python Crash Course.

Just looking to be steered in the right direction, I want to make sure I learn properly.

I feel like I spend all my time thinking about how to optimize my life instead of actually doing anything, and I make excuses to myself to avoid doing things

To explain, I always try to over-complicate everything and think of ways to do everything "better" instead of just doing things. Like when I play a game, I watch videos on the best way to enjoy them, I give myself arbitrary rules on how to play them (I shouldn't skip dialogue, I shouldn't run anywhere because then I'm not slowing down to immerse myself in the world etc).

I just feel like I do this for everything instead of just doing things that are good for me. I have several unread books that I want to read that I just don't. I want to go on walks and get into shape, but I just don't. I make excuses too. Like today, I should go on a walk, I should read a few pages of my book, I should actually do something instead of laying around all day, but because I've already done some minor task today, my brain basically tells me "it's fine, you don't need to do anything now, you've already done something!" and it just makes me feel so lazy and useless.

There's skills I want to learn, things I want to make. But I just never do because I spend all my time thinking about how I should most effectively do them and making excuses that I just never do anything.

Is it possible to have a kind of crime empire?

I always see people saying you can do anything you want in Kenshi so I kinda wanna see the limits of that lol. Would it be possible, with or without mods, to start a crime empire or at least a gang? I'm thinking some kind of Kenshi-style Mafia. If this was possible, what mods would I need and how could I go about it?

I will never get over missing out on this

This is my dream Walkman, the one I want more than any other, but in my experience its very difficult to find in any condition, with most of them being sold as untested for several hundred pounds.

That's why I was so devastated to find one for not only a relatively reasonable price, but it was serviced, in working condition, and came with the entire manual. Unfortunately, I just didn't have the money to spare for it, and now it's gone, sold to someone who I'm sure will cherish it as much as I would have.

I'm sure another one will show up one day, but this would have been so perfect if I was able to have it :(

Struggling with motivation again

So I was diagnosed with ADHD some time around early 2023. I was on medication (Elvanse) for a while but there was a national shortage in the NHS in November of that year and I stopped getting my medication. After that, I never got back in touch with Psychiatry UK (the service that provides help with ADHD here) and since then I haven't been medicated at all.

For a while now I've been thinking that I need to get back on it because I've been very unproductive and unmotivated for this entire year and have been struggling with executive dysfunction. I spend my whole day thinking about how I need to actually do something, thinking about how much I want to get back into hobbies like drawing, writing and game development. But I just don't do it. I remember that the medication, while having some annoying physical side effects, did make me feel more productive and able to actually do the things I want to do.

However, since I was away from it for so long, I was referred back to my GP. I went to my GP and spoke to them about it and they've referred me back to Psychiatry UK and now I have to wait what I think will be quite a long time to hear back because the waiting list is so long. I don't know if the waiting time will be reduced for me because I was already diagnosed.

All of this is to say, how do you deal with this part of ADHD while unmedicated? I was dealing with it fine for most of 2025 but for some reason this year has just been difficult.

Is there a way to get the old PC games running properly on Windows 10?

I really love the older games, and wanted to play them for the first time since I was a kid. Unfortunately the games I got (Under Development, Popcorn) seem to run horribly on Windows 10, which makes sense considering they're upwards of twenty years old. Even on the main menu the games run at what seems like less than 10 fps. Is there a way to run these games normally?

Roleplaying ideas for an Orc Warlock?

So I got the idea for this build from a post I saw earlier (thanks u/Crazy_Drama_2393). It seems really cool and it seems to have a lot of potential for roleplay which I really want to focus on after a lot of the advice from my last post suggested I get as into my character as possible. I've written a few backstories for my characters before and I'd like to do that again, but I'm just looking for some inspiration. What could be some potential goals for him, what kind of things would he avoid (restrictions on what I can do would make things interesting).

From what I know, a Warlock is a powerful mage that got their power from making deals and pacts with powerful beings, which in the world of Elder Scrolls seems to fit right in with Daedra. Anything related to that would be awesome too.

How do YOU make the game feel fresh again?

Morrowind is my favourite Elder Scrolls game, but I've played it so much that I just get bored after making a new character. I know that this is just the nature of things, it can't ever be as fun as it was the first time and that's okay. But does anyone play a certain way, or have a certain build that has personally brought some of that magic back for them? I know I should probably just, y'know, play other games, but I love this game so much and I want to play it again and really get into it again.

I want to play a video game that doesn't exist

That's the best way I can think to describe this feeling. I have such an urge to play a video game, but whenever I go to play one it just isn't hitting. I love The Elder Scrolls but I've played all those games to death, maybe I'm just wanting the games I already love to feel new again? I have games I've never played but I just never have the urge to play them. I got all the DLC for The Sims 2 and haven't touched them, I bought several new PC games and only played them for a little bit despite them being the types of games I feel like I'd really enjoy. It's really strange, has anyone else experienced this with video games or any other hobby?

Am I missing something with the fighting in Wrestling Empire?

I really feel like I must be. I'll get my opponent down to a completely empty health bar. I'll spend half the match just beating them to a pulp, throwing them around, doing all kinds of moves.

However, they never seem to submit and they always break out of a pin, every time. I just finished my first match with a draw because no matter what I did, my opponent just would not stay down. He broke out of my pin every time. When I tried making him submit, he somehow always managed to break out and get me in one (I also have no idea if button mashing does anything here because I often get stuck in submissions for up to 30 seconds at a time). By the end of the match he barely even had a face anymore and his health bar had long been depleted entirely, but he still fought back with no difficulty. It seems like the health bars have no actual effect on anything.

I feel like I have to be doing something wrong because no matter what I do they just keep getting up.

I got engaged last week

I've been in a long distance relationship with my now fiancee for almost three years, and she was visiting me for the past two weeks. Last week we'd gone on holiday to a really nice part of my country, and I took her to a beautiful little part of a beach and asked her to marry me. I've never been so nervous in my life and it probably took about 45 minutes of wandering around on the beach to gather the courage to ask, even though I knew she'd say yes haha.

We still have so many challenges ahead of us but I'm really excited about this and it feels like a major step in an amazing direction for us, and I just wanted to share it with people :)

Requiem and Improved Survival Mode compatibility?

I'd like to know if these two mods work together, and if not, are there any alternatives? I installed ISM and it said it overwrote something in Requiem so I didn't want to risk it. I really want to play with survival aspects because I feel like it'd work really well with Requiem.

Is it just part of the experience to buy a tape and it just doesn't work?

Probably a dumb question but I just want to make sure. I've bought ten VHS tapes so far and out of all of those, four of them didn't work for various reasons. Two of them made my VCR make loud mechanical clicking sounds and the screen was wobbly and distorted, and the other two were almost entirely static and stopped playing after a few seconds.

I really do like this format and want to get into it, but I just want to know if I should expect every tape I buy to potentially not work and if there are ways to avoid it.

Mods to pair with Requiem?

I really want to start a new playthrough using Requiem because I've never tried it before, but I want to have some other mods to complement it. I currently have quite a lot of mods installed, and I feel like since Requiem alters so much, I'll need to basically just reset my load order because I have a bunch of perk and gameplay overhauls (Vokriinator, Adamant, Mysticism, Blade & Blunt etc).

Got this gift from my mum

ABBA Gold was the first cassette I ever bought when I was starting out last year. Unfortunately it broke almost immediately after listening to it all the way through. Yesterday my mum brought me this and I'm so happy to finally be able to listen to this amazing album again. It was also interesting to find out this was a re-release of the album for it's 30th anniversary!

Made two wheels to pick a random race and class

I thought it'd be an interesting way to start new characters since it'll probably provide some interesting ways to play. I usually make a class and try to pick a race that has complementary bonuses to the class, but I want to play in an unoptimal way because it feels more interesting :)

Recently I've been playing Daggerfall and a popular description of that game is "Medieval Life Simulator". I'd really like to make Skyrim the same thing, but more. I already have a few mods like Alternate Perspective and Survival Mode Improved so I don't have to be the Dragonborn and can be an ordinary person with needs to attend to. I also got Missives to add some busy work that an average person in Skyrim could manage.

But I've just been wanting more. I want to run a business that isn't an invisible one my spouse runs, or have a normal job that isn't just watching my character play a woodcutting animation, I want my character to have friends and family, I want to take things slow and prepare for my adventures or journeys. I could be an average mercenary doing difficult jobs for townsfolk and merchants, or a treasure hunter who hears tips about interesting locations to loot.

I want the world to feel alive and like it'd be moving just fine without me. I don't want every moron in town coming up to me to tell me random facts about their life. I imagine playing as a weary warrior coming into town and actually needing to get out of the cold and get some food and rest after a tough battle, or playing as an adventurous mage that spends time researching new spells and finding ancient relics or something.

I know it probably sounds like a weird thing to want out of an action RPG game but I really love the world of Skyrim and it'd be cool to feel like I'm living in it, and theres millions of mods for this game so I hope there's something out there for me.

I'd also really like to avoid mods that use any kind of AI generated content if possible. Thank you in advance!

Edit: Thanks for the suggestions so far, particularly u/ZombiiRot who gave a huge list of mods
