What did you think was going to happen?

What did you think was going to happen?

Before the episodes “Mastermind” and “Sinsmas” came out—or before you got around to watching them (the second one applies to those who, like me, were waiting for a dub they could understand without having to read subtitles)—and you’d only seen a few pictures, heard a few things… or knew absolutely nothing… what did you think was going to happen?

I’m curious about your theories, hypotheses, and headcanons. Even if they were completely crazy. I’ll share mine too. It was originally much longer, but I don’t want to ramble too much here, so I’ll just give you the gist of it.

I had heard that something bad was going to happen to Stolas and that I was going to cry. I just didn’t know what. At first, I thought Striker would kidnap Octavia and Stolas would go with IMP to rescue her. Stolas initially wouldn’t want to ask Blitz for help after everything that had happened between them, but he wouldn’t have a choice.

They would rescue Octavia, but she’d be left traumatized. Something would happen between Stolas and Striker, and Andrealphus and Stella would also get involved. I won’t go into too much detail, but let’s just say that Stolas survived.

However, he would lose his short-term memory, so he wouldn’t remember some of the events that had happened. Stella and Andrealphus would somehow trick him out of his home, and Blitz would offer to let him stay with him. Octavia would go with them, and everyone would help Stolas piece together what had happened...

Okay, I know that compared to what actually happened, this sounds... weird. But in my defense, all I knew was that something bad was going to happen to Stolas and that something was going to happen to Octavia too.

And now I’m curious about your theories!

I have a question. Maybe it's a stupid one, but I can't help but ask.

Do you think that if Stolas stood up for Moxxie in Season 3 and told Blitzo off, Blitzo would stop bullying Moxxie so much? I know he’d still bully him and make fun of him, but do you think Blitzo would tone down the teasing if Stolas told him to stop picking on Moxxie so much? Or would Blitzo take it as a “betrayal” from Stolas and think that he and Moxxie had teamed up against him?

I know I’m overthinking stupid things, but I’m curious. And it’s still better than going over the same thing over and over again and constantly arguing with someone.

By the way, I chose that picture because I think it’s really funny XD. And also because I’m too lazy to look for something else.

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 4 days ago

The more I learn, the more I realize that I don’t actually dislike Octavia—I dislike her fans. Sorry, not sorry.

I’m sure some of you are wondering: “How can you say you hate Octavia fans when you’re a fan of Octavia yourself?” Well, I’m happy to explain.

Yes, I’m an Octavia fan. I mainly like her design. I know that probably shouldn’t be the most important thing, but… damn… since when is it a crime to like a character because of their design?

Like any normal person, I hate characters who are too perfect. I like characters to have flaws. Whether it’s shyness, a bad attitude, constantly overreacting, repeating the same mistakes… Every character, even the ones I love the most, has something about them that annoys me.

For example, my favorite character is Stolas. But the way he ignored Octavia in Loo Loo Land annoyed me. Or the fact that he never properly explained his feelings to Blitz, which eventually led to them fighting. Did that annoy me? Yes. Did I start hating him because of it? No.

And I could say the same about Millie, Loona, Blitz, Moxxie…

Octavia is also in my top 10. And one thing that bothers me about her is how she ignored what was happening around her and made everything about herself. Okay, that might sound like two things, but I see them as one.

I don’t blame her for not noticing things as a child. I don’t blame her for being angry at Stolas either. (Although, to be fair, she could have let him explain instead of throwing the pills at him.) I don’t blame her for running away to LA. In that situation, I probably would have reacted the same way.

I don’t blame her for being an introvert either. I’m one too.

The only thing I blame her for is that even though she’s no longer a little child, she still ignores what’s happening in her own household and then wonders, “How is it possible that Dad doesn’t love Mom anymore?”

BUT this isn’t supposed to be an Octavia rant. I’m only saying this to make one point: even if Octavia were my absolute favorite character, she still wouldn’t be flawless.

The problem is that whenever someone dares to say anything negative about Octavia—even something minor, like “If Octavia hadn’t done this, she would be the perfect character…”—some of her fans take it as a personal insult and immediately start defending the idea that Octavia is basically perfect.

Or they say that everything wrong with her is someone else’s fault.

But you can say that about literally every character.

Stolas is the way he is because he spent years in a loveless marriage. Blitzø is the way he is because he lost everything. Stella is the way she is because of how she was raised. Fizz and Verosika are the way they are because of Blitzø.

And we could keep going forever.

Just accept that your favorite characters can have flaws.

Circumstances can influence someone, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t take responsibility for their actions.

Blitzø burned down the circus (accidentally, but that’s beside the point) and paid for it.

Stolas ignored Octavia (and no, I’m not blaming him for falling in love) and he paid for it.

Nobody is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, faces the consequences, and hopefully learns from them.

I believe Octavia will eventually realize that she overreacted a little and that she should have paid more attention to the signs. And I believe that because I like her.

If I didn’t care about her, I wouldn’t give a damn what happens to her next season.

But I do care.

So… can someone please explain to me why so many Octavia fans feel the need to constantly defend how “perfect” she is and become toxic toward anyone who even suggests that she might have a flaw?

That feeling when you realize Stolas and Blitzø are the perfect example of the saying: “Opposites attract.”

  1. Stolas is over two meters tall. Blitzø is around 1.2 meters tall (maybe 1.3).

  2. Stolas can read very quickly and is a bookworm. Blitzø is dyslexic and finds books boring.

3.Stolas has beautiful handwriting, like a true writer. His messages are always long and grammatically correct. Blitzø writes in block letters, makes mistakes, and his messages are usually short and to the point.

  1. Stolas is a pacifist. We've only seen him hit someone once throughout the entire series. Blitzø gets into fights whenever he gets the chance.

5.Stolas only swears when he’s really angry or extremely happy. Blitzø swears in everyday conversation.

  1. Stolas gets drunk from even a small amount of alcohol. Blitzø can outdrink Queen Bee.

  2. Nobody willingly invites Stolas to parties, and he’s more reserved, while Blitzø loves having fun and is instantly the life of the party.

  3. Stolas stayed in a physically and emotionally abusive marriage for seventeen years. He’s only had two, maybe three, partners in his entire life. Blitzø, on the other hand, ended relationships after a short time and has had many different partners.

  4. Stolas currently has a strained relationship with his daughter, while Blitzø’s relationship with his daughter has improved significantly.

10, Stolas is a Goetic demon and a prince. In Hell’s hierarchy, his species ranks second. Blitzø is an Imp who had to work for everything he has. In Hell’s hierarchy, his species ranks second-to-last.

  1. Stolas gets along very well with Moxxie, while Blitzø often bullies him.

  2. Stolas has apparently been gay since childhood and fell in love with Blitzø at first sight. Blitzø is apparently pansexual and it took him a while to realize that he was in love with Stolas.

  3. When it comes to sex, Stolas is more submissive. Despite being a prince, he prefers being the one on the receiving end, and although he enjoys BDSM, he also loves when his partner is gentle with him and shows him that they care about him. Blitzø is more dominant and isn’t really into romance.

And that’s everything I could find. I tried to make it 13 points because it’s my lucky number. 😅 Did you notice any other differences between them, whether big or small?

Don’t be afraid to share your opinions. I’m putting some Stolitz pictures at the top that I think are really cute.

Bonus: What are your top three cutest Stolitz scenes? 🥹

For me, they’d be:

  1. Stolas falling asleep on the couch and Blitzø giving him a kiss.
  2. Blitzø saving Stolas from Andrealphus and Stolas kissing him.
  3. When they dance together at the end of Sinsmas.

P.S. Am I the only one who keeps thinking of Stolas and Blitzø whenever I hear All I Want for Christmas Is You lately? Or just HB in general? XD

What if....

If, in the series finale, we had a scene during the final battle where Stolas had to choose between saving Blitzø and Octavia, and this time he chose Octavia, would that be enough proof for Octavia that if she had been in Blitzø’s place in Mastermind, Stolas would have done the same thing for her, and would she forgive him?

People are right that Via can’t forgive Stolas simply because she finds out that Stella was hurting him. She can understand him and feel sorry for him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she can forgive him. And it’s a little cliché for her to forgive him just because he saves her. It could improve her opinion of him and make her care about him again, but I’m not sure if that would be enough for forgiveness.

BUT. What if there was a situation where he had to choose between saving her or Blitzø, and this time he chose her... would that be enough?

Btw, Blitzø would somehow survive in the end.

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 13 days ago

Maybe it’s just a small thing or something silly, but...

I like that Moxxie still calls Stolas “Your Highness” even though Stolas told him he doesn’t have to. He’s not saying it to mock him or remind him that he lost his title. He says it because he respects him and looks up to him. I honestly think that’s such a sweet little detail.

Fun fact: Did you know there's a Lovecraft reference in the episode Seeing Stars?

I wonder how many of you noticed it right away, and how many Lovecraft fans watch Helluva Boss.

For those of you who spotted it immediately, tell me if you know what I'm talking about. But don't cheat! 😄

I'll admit, I didn't catch it at first myself. Then again, I'm not a huge Lovecraft fan. I still think his work is fascinating, though.

A few of my really short (headcanons?) about Stolas that I'll believe until the show itself proves me wrong.

Edit: I was thinking about turning this into a series. So tell me who you’d like to see a continuation about. The character who gets mentioned the most in the comments or receives the most positive votes will win!

  1. He was the one who chose Octavia's name, and he named her after his own mother.
  2. He wears makeup to hide the signs of how much Stella hurts him.
  3. His mother either committed suicide or was banished the same way he was.
  4. Andrealphus was in love with him, but after realizing that Stolas would never love him back, that love turned into hatred.
  5. He had been taking happy pills long before he met Stella, but Stella was one of the reasons why he never stopped taking them.
  6. He is one of the few people who didn't fuck Chaz, which is why he wasn't at his funeral.
  7. Assuming he isn't his brother, Vassago was his first lover.
  8. The plush bunny we see in the episode "The Circus" is probably the only thing he has left from his mother.
  9. He saves all of Hell from an economic crisis, and through that, he finally earns the respect of others.
  10. He becomes a villain for at least one or half a season, but eventually returns to being one of the "good guys" (by Hell's standards, anyway)
  11. For some reason, he ends up saving Striker's life, forcing Striker to reconsider what he thought about Stolas. In return, Striker spares his life so they can call it even.
  12. In the past, he was very popular among mortals/sinners, and that's one of the reasons why the other inhabitants of Hell don't want to associate with him.
  13. He is autistic.

I know that some of these might not make sense, or that you might disagree with them. But this is just my own perspective. And if any of them get disproven, I'm willing to admit that I was wrong.

Anyway, thank you, glacialspicerack1808. Number thirteen is here thanks to you.

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 15 days ago

Honestly, I don't really have a problem with anything Octavia said to Stolas here... except for one small thing.

Okay. I can accept pretty much everything Octavia said to Stolas. It was harsh, and I don't think he really deserved it considering the state he was in... but at the same time, I understand it. In a way, it's a fitting consequence because it forces him to recognize his mistakes and hopefully learn from them.

Octavia was wrong about a lot of the things she believed, but I also understand where her anger came from. If you look at the situation from her perspective, it really does seem like Stolas has been neglecting her. He also broke the promise he made to her. And I understand why she thinks he doesn't love her, even though that's obviously not true.

I will admit, though, I'm still confused about one thing. After Stolas told her that he stayed with Stella only because of her—because he cared about her—she somehow interpreted that as him staying out of obligation and not actually loving her. But I can still accept that. She was emotional, hurt, and wasn't thinking rationally.

But...

There's one thing she said that genuinely bothers me, and it honestly takes away from the whole scene.

When she pointed out that Stolas never loved Stella.

...Sorry, but really?

Why are you saying that like it's some huge revelation that you just uncovered? Your mother verbally and physically abused your father right in front of you. I get that you're a teenager, and maybe you didn't fully understand everything that was happening around you... but surely you could tell whether your parents loved each other or not. Hell, I figured that out when I was seven years old, and I'm autistic. Don't tell me you couldn't.

And you're seriously surprised that your father doesn't love your mother? Why would he? She never gave him a single reason to love her.

...Sorry, but that line just really annoyed me. It honestly feels like it shouldn't have been in the script at all. I genuinely think that entire scene would have been stronger if they'd simply cut that sentence.

But that's just my opinion. I just needed to vent a little.

OP's note: Everything in this post is my own thoughts and opinions. However, since my English is only around an A1 level and I don't trust Google Translate anymore (it's let me down too many times), I use ChatGPT to translate my posts. I use it for translation, not to generate the actual content.

If anyone has a problem with me using AI as a translation tool, you're free to skip my posts. But honestly, all the unnecessary hate toward AI is starting to get on my nerves. I completely understand why artists have concerns about AI, but I don't understand why some people are bothered by someone using it simply to translate sentences. Do you know how many misunderstandings I've avoided because of it?

That said, if this fandom doesn't mind, I could also start writing my posts in my native language instead. I know some subreddits have rules requiring posts to be in English, so I'd like to hear what you all think.

Have you ever wondered...

....whether Alejandro and Gabriela will end up together? And how their story will turn out? Or whether we’ll ever see more episodes of Hell’a’Novela. again?

It would be hilarious if Stolas watched the newest episodes at Blitz’s apartment, and Blitzø kept calling it crap, but the more he watched it, the more he started to enjoy it — until eventually he was the one trying to convince Stolas that they should watch the newest episode together. XD”

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 19 days ago

Maybe this is a stupid question, but..

if Stolas and Blitzø get married, would Stolas be considered Loona's second adoptive dad or her stepdad?

I'm basically just wondering what she'd call him, or how she'd refer to him in public or when talking to her friends.

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 20 days ago

What if Blitzø actually went to see Stolas because he was worried about him?

I've been thinking... What if Blitzø actually did go to the hospital to see Stolas, but he was scared Stolas would be angry that he hadn't come to save him himself (even though he had a perfectly valid reason not to, and he did send M&M). So he only came when Stolas was asleep. He stayed by his side the whole time, keeping watch over him, but the moment he heard someone coming to check on Stolas—or saw Stolas starting to wake up—he panicked and slipped away?

He never told anyone about it. He was the only one who knew.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate that today isn't just Stolas's birthday—it's also the anniversary of the day these two idiots met?

...or, more accurately, the day Stolas genuinely fell in love for the first time.

Anyway,

Happy anniversary of the day you two adorable dumbasses first met. 💙

I don't know about you guys, but I'm convinced we need a Stolas birthday episode in Season 3.

The best way to do it, in my opinion, would be if Blitz took Stolas out, telling him that the rest of I.M.P. had a mission and didn't need him, so the two of them could have some time alone and go on a date.

In reality, though, the others wouldn't be on a mission at all—they'd be secretly preparing a surprise birthday party for him.

Near the end of the episode, Stolas would get a text from Octavia wishing him a happy birthday. He'd reply, thanking her, and ask if he could call her—or just send another message—but he wouldn't get a response.

Stolas would be a little heartbroken, but Blitz would cheer him up and remind him that today is also the anniversary of the day they first met.

The episode would end with the two of them sharing a kiss. Maybe there'd even be a birthday song, but with that signature Helluva Boss style

I completely forgot that it's Stolas's birthday today. I'm ashamed of myself.

Happy birthday, birdie babe. 🦉💙

I wish for your relationship with your daughter to grow stronger, and for you to get the happy ending you deserve with the one you love.

...And what would you wish Stolas for his birthday?

u/One-Chapter-8347 — 21 days ago

Nobody asked, but here's a random fact about me. (and of course it has something to do with Helluva Boss.)

If we don't count Beauty and the Beast, then Blitzø and Stolas are officially the first main couple in any TV show, movie, or book that I've genuinely become attached to. Well... technically they're the third if we include mythology, because then I'd also count Odysseus and Penelope.

But if we're only talking about TV shows, Stolitz is actually the only main couple I've ever shipped. I usually end up liking the side couples instead. I can like the main couple too, but they're never my favorite or the ship I'm most invested in.

Stolitz is the exception.

Don't forget to include an interesting fact about yourself related to the show in the comment.

Write your hypotheses, theories, headcanons, and opinions about how you think the story would have continued if Blitzø had simply left with the book and left Stolas tied up there. Basically, the whole “Real Fast” thing never happened.

It’s a shame we never got to see baby Stolas sleep like this. It would’ve been so adorable, and it would’ve been another little reference to the fact that he’s literally an owl XD

Was Stolas making Blitz his toy, or was there just a misunderstanding?

What I’m writing here is just how I interpreted it. It doesn’t mean I’m necessarily right, and I could be wrong.

I’ve always seen it as Stolas loving Blitzø from the very beginning, but being under pressure and control because of his family, so he had to hide his sexuality and his feelings. When Blitzø appeared again after all those years, from Stolas’ perspective he was very... well, he was simply being extremely forward.

We know that at the time Blitzø only wanted the book and had to do something to distract Stolas, but from Stolas’ point of view it looked like Blitzø wanted to have passionate sex with him. Blitzø pushed Stolas onto the bed, tied him up, bit him, and blindfolded him.

Of course Stolas interpreted that as Blitzø not being vanilla, but as someone who enjoyed rough sex. So he decided to adapt to what he thought Blitzø wanted.

Later, Stolas thinks that Blitzø stole the Grimoire just so he would have an excuse to “use” Stolas again, and Blitzø never corrects that misunderstanding.

Then they make their deal. Blitzø could have refused. He doesn’t. And I understand why — he needs the Grimoire.

I’m just saying that I personally see it as Stolas believing the entire time that this kind of dynamic was something Blitzø enjoyed, and that’s why he acted that way. We’ve also been shown several times that, when it comes to their sexual relationship, Blitzø is usually the dominant one. Blitzø himself even said once that he is always “the top.”

And this is just my small theory — I’m not saying it’s true: I think Stolas didn’t actually enjoy the rough sex that much. He was simply happy that he could spend time with his childhood friend again. He just believed that this was what Blitzø liked, so he adapted to him. Plus, at that time he was taking his “happy pills,” so they might have influenced him (though they might not have).

I also think that later he doesn’t take them as often, and that could be one of the reasons (definitely not the only one) why he starts suggesting to Blitzø that they don’t have to keep having sex, and that he would be happy just spending time together.

But like I said, this is only how I personally interpreted it, and of course I could be wrong.
