Asking opinion from Honor 400 Pro owners. Choosing 400 Pro(512GB) over the Galaxy A57(256GB)? Is it a good choice despite the polarizing opinions about MagicOS?

Currently deciding between these phones. Prices has gone up, researched phone brands, and these two are the only all-rounder phones I can afford at the same price range. I want something with good gaming performance(Genshin), good cameras, and decent battery life.

My choice is the Honor 400 Pro(Global version) for the same price. But with how divisive people can be on chinese OS and their longevity, it make me reluctant. I've been also told that the Samsung A57 is the better phone between the two because of Samsung UI and longevity, is it true?

I've seen some comments claiming where magicos is equally as bad as hyperos. I own a miui 14 phone and I don't have major gripes about it coming from One UI 1(except the 10 second permission wait). I don't really care much about the software features, AI, and customization, but the UI is still something I will interact everyday. I fear the user experience will be bad or defective/buggy as other people are saying?

With how the leaks are looking I can't believe Hoyo butchered his kit

Hello, Mitya mains I wanted to address my concerns why he isn't looking good rn.

-Off field gimmick in C0 is in an awkward position, doesn't proc much and you're better off using Yae, and calcs say he's only slightly better than Cyno as an on field dps.

- It's weird that he can't plunge during skill.

-And what are they thinking when they designed Valeriy's kit? I thought he's supposed to be Mitya's dedicated support, but why does Valeriy is acting as the on field enabler here with little damage? Then what's Mitya's on field capabilities for if we're not gonna use it? It doesn't make sense! The 100 EM buff is too low. He's a shielder in lore, but why is his shield worse than a 4 year old 4 star? And he also has energy issues til C4.

Hopefully they buff Mitya on V3 like they did to Vesna and Vodyanitsa, but since he's a male character and with Tsaritsa coming right after him, it's really not looking good. There's actually a chance they may even nerf him. I'm very disappointed because he has great animations, great story presence and the theories about him being the unknown god made me hyped. But only to be sidelined in the meta by the kit devs favoritism.

For most users is there a significant difference between midrange vs flagship phones nowadays? Is midrange the sweetspot?

Can't afford a flagship level phone like iPhone 17/S25 but still want a phone that would stay reliable at least 4 years like a flagship.

The ones I can buy on my budget are midrange ones like S25FE/Oneplus 15R/Xiaomi 17T that cost less. Still expensive but not as expensive as the flagship variants. I noticed these phones still have great cameras(some have telephoto) and high end performance that are better than run-of-the-mill phones like Galaxy A or Redmi Note.

Manufacturers tend to phase out old flagships quickly or still priced close to their successor so it isn't an option.

For the average person, will I be missing out that much longevity-wise from actual flagship quality by settling on midrange?

I don't understand why some people are tryna defend ubisoft launcher and blaming it to the user. What a joke.

1st photo wasn't mine. But if the common people are experiencing log in problems even if they didn't do anything wrong, it's system issue. I myself have experienced this despite having the correct credentials.

You can't just slap the word 'user issue' unless anyone who had this issue are some sort bruteforce malicious cyberattackers, when gamers just want to game.

Is there a good gaming phone that also has good cameras in my price range?

Want to buy a phone this month. I want something that is capable at Genshin(something better than the average midrange chipset), decent(or tolerable) thermals, good battery life for general use, while still having good camera specs(telephoto can be a consideration but as long as selfie and main rear camera are solid enough for everyday picture taking).

Here is what I found in my budget

Galaxy A57 256GB = 25000 Pesos (410 USD)

Xiaomi 13T Pro 512GB = 24000 Pesos (390 USD)

Honor 400 Pro 512GB = 27000 Pesos (440 USD)

Oneplus Nord 6 256GB = 26000 Pesos (425 USD)

Poco F7 Ultra 256GB = 28000 Pesos (460 USD)

Xiaomi 15T 12GB/512GB vs Xiaomi 17T 12GB/256GB

What's the major difference between the two. Because physically, they almost look the same to the point I thought the 15T is a 17T.

In my country the 17T base storage can be 20 USD cheaper during sales, however the 15T 512GB variant is 30 USD cheaper currently. Assume they price difference is not that significant, which is better camera-wise?

I know the 17T has more proper telephoto, but that's something I really don't practically use, only the main and front camera. But the 17T should have better CPU and battery life. In terms of hardware and optimization, how much better is the 17T in real-life use to warrant the lesser storage? Will I be going wrong if I get the older phone or is the newer phone the no brainer?

u/Pale-West-3176 — 1 month ago

Ang hirap pala kapag AI at Rammagedon haha

Grabe yung dillemma.

Not sure if bibili na ba today even tho di pa naman really need and may mga other priorities pa.

Best camera phone under 20k max

Will be planning to buy a phone with good camera under 20k sa payday sale. Ano po pwede ninyong mairecommend na sulit sa presyo?

I'm currently eyeimg on the A57 and Redmi Note 15 Series.

EDIT: Puwede ko pa pong mai-stretch sa 25k if ever may mas maganda na magsale

I've come to realize that games like 007 First light is a proof why we shouldn't be stuck on FSR 3 forever. And I'm glad the official version is bound to release next month in more cards.

Yes, you really can't easily override FSR 4 on 007 because the way they installed the dll files is weird. But my point here being is that it's a reminder how horrid FSR 3 can actually look sometimes and how it feels to lack a good upscaling option.

The use of upscaling is more prevalent on entry 1440P cards like RX 7700 XT where it can have the raw power to handle 1440P natively or slightly not enough. On optimized games, it shall run the game splendidly above 65, while in unoptimized or heavier ones, you're bound to lower settings or use upscaling to dish 5-10 more fps.

I'm speaking from experience. People say 1440P 27" is generally better than 1080P 22/24". I definitely agree as well, but in the context of 1440P FSR 3 Quality-Balanced vs Native 1080P, I beg to differ. Not every implementation of FSR 3 is good to absolutely say that 1440P is way better than just playing 1080P Native Ultra. Gaming-wise, the blurriness, aggressive flickering is distractingly there that just defeats the purpose of the supposedly higher ppi display.

FSR 3 1440P in 007 looks bad. I would rather lower the settings as an fps boost or my workaround is to set the game up to 4K via VSR and use FSR 3 Balance. In that way, it will still look better than 1440P Native TAA because 4K has inherently more data, while still performing above 60 fps. However, this requires more VRAM.

Meaning, my only purpose with FSR 3 is that the game is absolutely forced to Native TAA, 1440P AA is underwhelming, I have no choice but to settle on higher resolution for a sharper less buggy image. It's not crazy to think that more games will continue to have anti-aliasing issues. This is the reason why FuckTAA subreddit exists.

With that leaked FSR 4, I can say my 1440P experience is absolutely better than 1080P. The workarounds are minimal. I don't have to lower the settings much or have to set the game up to 4K just to get the an acceptable anti aliasing quality. I am using FSR 4 1440P Native AA right now on Forza Horizon 6 and it's a breathtaking experience even on an entry level 1440P card.

In your opinion, would you rather buy via GMarket or spend more for the same GPU with official warranty?

It's indeed a dillema, we really can't have both good things. Because at 13K price point, buying a 5060 in our local pricing is just impossible. I don't know what kind of decent brand new gpu you can still settle nowadays at 13K if all I'm seeing is an RTX 3050 6GB. You have to go to 20K range for a 5060. So 13k --> 20k is a huge difference.

However settling on foreign shops solves this. You're getting 5060 in less than 15k where most PC shops here are barely selling a value-oriented gpu. The brand new prices may be more forgiving to Filipinos, but the warranty is lacking.

Used RX 6700 XT or settle on a newer 8GB card?

In my country I can get a 5060/5060 Ti 8GB at a similar price range to an averagely-priced used RX 6700 XT. There is a rare sale on 5060/5060 Ti 8GB going on where I can get them below 300 USD. However, these gpus are from overseas and not locally, so the warranty can be an issue. But at least I am still getting a brand new card for choosing a 5060.

RX 6700 XT has flexible vram for higher settings, while the 5060/Ti has the faster raw power, efficiency, upscaling support, RT headroom needed for more modern titles. However 8GB VRAM is the major dealbreaker given how some games can go effortlessly past 8GB in 1080P/1440P. With how cards are being judged nowadays primarily by their vram, I fear these advantages becomes futile just because of the fewer vram, unlike the 6700 XT. It feels like I'm picking my poison.

If someone will be asking about the Intel Arc B580, they are just hard to find nowadays at the right price. The only recommendation that seemed fitting to me is spending twice the amount for a 9060 XT 16GB or spending considerably more on a used 6800.

For 80k and below budgets, for gaming, is it still smart to go AM5 or should we be going AM4 instead?

Mura na yung mobo and CPU, but the gripe in buying AM5 right now is the RAM. 20-25K na ang nakikita ko. Despite it being the norm, it still overpriced. Some have to compromise 1 stick of ram. 32GB is starting to be a must for some people. But the upgrade path for AM5 is too hard to pass up.

Meanwhile AM4, the components are cheaper but the on stock CPUs are weaker(limitting stronger gpus) and the upgrade path is not there anymore. But at least there's a budget headroom to afford an upper midrange gpu like a 9070, which is way faster than the 9060 XT.
