What if Riley didn’t get bit?

I’ve thought about this and I believe that if Ellie got bit and Riley didn’t, then the story would probably shift from Joel’s redemption through Ellie to a fire-forged journey across the United States in which it is up to Riley to get Ellie to the Fireflies. Then again, would they still meet Joel? How would the story change? Please let me know what you think in the comments.

What would happen if China went to war with Russia and North Korea?

This is a very big if, but I’d still say that it could happen. I’m a writer from the U.K. and this is for a story which I’m considering developing. If you have any ideas about what would happen, please let me know.

Am I the only one curious about how the Capitol explained District 13’s survival?

So, we al know that for seventy-five years the Capitol lied that D13 had been completely destroyed and lo and behold, there they are with an army which rivals the Peacekeepers. Just, how did the Capitol explain this? Did they admit to making a mistake? Did they claim that they simply didn’t know? Did they try and sell some kind of messed up version of their armistice with D13 to the public? I’m not sure about any of them, but what I am sure of is that Capitol citizens probably started panic-buying absurd clothes as soon as the announcement was made.

Theoretical opening for season 3

Season 3 Episode 1 opens in Freeside some time after the events of The Strip. The camera begins at the Lucky 38 now the city hall from which the NCR remnant govern the city. The strip, now cleared of deathclaws, is filled with people working at a market where they trade many goods such as food, water, clothes and books containing precious knowledge from before the war. Along with NCR soldiers and New Vegas citizens, there are the people who Hank kidnapped and brainwashed with his brain chips and even though they have been removed, their old personalities are still gone and unlikely to ever return. They now act as the NCR's bureaucracy and technical experts in the city, using their knowledge to tend to their equipment and their politeness to integrate into the community. Finally, at the heart of the strip is Maximus's NCR power armour, damaged beyond repair but welded into a statue with a plaque which says "Max, NCR Ranger and Hero of Freeside."

The camera then moves further out into Freeside showing a recruitment centre for the NCR and soldiers training alongside one another for the NCR's coming reconstruction. At a radio station, a communications officer is speaking with the Hub, now the capital of the New California Republic and is informing them of the situation. Although the NCR once again control much of northern California and have plans to retake southern California, they are unable to lend aid, leaving the State of New Vegas isolated, but determined to survive.

The camera then comes towards the entrance to New Vegas where a large Legion camp has been set up. Led by Legate Lacerta(Kevin), now the new Caesar, they have had the city under siege for months, but have been unable to scale the walls which are covered in defensive fortifications and mortars so that the NCR may defend themselves. There are many Legionnaires and slaves and as Lacerta(Kevin) looks on, he stares at the Lucky 38 and mutters under his breath "Caesar's Palace."

Finally, the camera comes towards the Lucky 38 penthouse, the former office of Mr. House and now the council hall where Captain Rodriguez, now a Colonel, leads the defence of New Vegas and is coordinating trade with Salt Lake City, their lifeline for vital resources which they need to survive against the Legion's onslaught. The large TV screen which shows a map of the city flickers for a fraction of a second, showing Mr. House's face as he stairs against those intruding on his old territory and then pans towards Lucy and Maximus.

Lucy is once again wearing her vault suit, but it now has combat armour over it and her hair is styled into a simple, neat ponytail and she is holding hands with Maximus, no longer wearing any semblance of Brotherhood attire, but now wearing an NCR Ranger uniform with an anti-material rifle over his shoulder. As the two of them gaze across the city which they helped to restore, they do so determined to uncover the full scope of Hank's plans and hopefully save the wasteland at long last.

Some help with a novel

Hi, I’m a writer from the U.K. and I’m working on a novel where there’s a global power cut because of an asteroid in Earth’s orbit. The asteroid is called Eclipse and inside is an ore called Eclipsium(work in progress) which emits this radiation that stops anything electrical from working, forcing survivors to rely on steam power to rebuild. I’m about 100-200 years, the asteroid is going to enter Earth’s atmosphere and break up into thousands of small pieces, ending the power cut at long last, but there will still be localised power cuts until it gets removed. Think of it as something like Revolution, a TV series with a similar premise. What do you all think of this? Please let me know in the comments.

Any idea when we’ll see Holly Jr?

So, we didn’t really see Holly Jr in the Testaments season 1 and I don’t think that she was mentioned either. She’d be about six by then, so where could she be? Is she in Boston, perhaps? Or is she somewhere else? I mean, June had two small shoes in her house, so is Holly Jr with her? Regardless of where she is, I hope that she and Hannah have a good first meeting with each other in future.

My theory about the Separatists' true purpose

So, a thought came to me earlier and it's that in early Clone Wars episodes and quite a lot of them really, the Separatists are shown as comically evil and to be fair, a lot of the stuff which they do is evil. However, in the episode "Heroes on Both Sides", we get to see the Separatist Parliament which is, quite frankly, ten times more orderly than the British Parliament and this gives us a glimpse into life within the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

In that episode, do we see citizens getting rounded up and shot like on occupied worlds such as Ryloth and Onderon? Do we see forced labour camps and public executions? My answer is, not in the least.

Do we see droids at the spaceport? Yes, we see them, but what we also see is that they aren't acting like they usually do on other planets, mostly ones occupied by the Separatists. Now, my theory is that the Separatists using a droid army was a purposeful act on Count Dukoo's part on behalf of Darth Sidious and so was this apparently orderly parliament.

Later, in the Bad Batch, we see the Separatist people resisting Imperial occupation on worlds such as Raxus and Desix and this made me realise that Palpatine likely intended for the Confederate regime to seem genuinely benevolent among their own people and avoid any oppression. This way, there would be guaranteed rebellion across the Outer Rim like we see in many episodes of Star Wars Rebels and the Original Trilogy.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Why would Palpatine want rebellion in the Outer Rim?"

My answer is that he knew that once he established his Galactic Empire, rebellion would be more or less inevitable, so he decided to have Dukoo make the Confederacy seem as benevolent as possible to it's own people while seeming as evil as possible to those within the Republic. This way, citizens of what would then become the Galactic Empire would see them as militaristic savages while the Separatists would think that they were proven right.

My theory is that guaranteed rebellion would help Palpatine to legitimise the Empire's rule and as we see throughout the franchise, the Empire is incredibly overconfident and seem to genuinely believe that victory is assured. We also hear Captain Rex mentioning "Separatist Holdouts", so chances are that there's probably a good few thousand or so Separatist rebel cells across the Outer Rim seeking to revive the Confederacy, meaning that the Empire can probably make the Rebel Alliance look like a successor to them and continue to justify their rule.

Quite honestly, I'd say that while Dukoo and all of the other big corporations in the Confederacy were obviously evil, the Separatists themselves actually weren't that bad, they just wanted to be left alone. I also wouldn't be surprised if after the Empire's defeat, former Separatists worlds, probably with Raxus at the helm, would establish a new alliance between them and would probably remember Dukoo as a hero or something.

How far do you agree with this theory? Please let me know and if you know of any hints to this theory throughout the series, please let me know that as well.

What if the rules of later games were implemented for the 10th?

So, in later games like the 50th and 74th, they didn’t just have sponsors and betting, but also other features like stylists and mandatory viewing as well as a victory tour and victors villages. Now, let’s say that the Capitol implements those rules for the 10th games, how would the series have changed?

After having just read Sunrise on the Reaping, I hereby forgive Haymitch for every bad thing he's ever done.

I've spent the better part of the last few weeks reading this book and I was completely blown away by how traumatic this story was! Honestly, I'm not surprised at all at how Haymitch was the way that he was by the events of the Hunger Games and I don't usually forgive people, but I hereby forgive Haymitch for every single bad deed he's ever done.

What does ISN do on their base?

So, we all know how the Independent Spacefaring Nations(ISN) have their own Mars base, but what do they do there? Obviously, it's scientific research, but they're whole purpose is to try and end the M-6's monopoly on iridium, so whatever they do there must have something to do with that. Also, I'm fairly certain that ISN have helium-3 mines on the moon since a newspaper clipping shows that China opened a base there, so I'd say that ISN might be doing something in relation to energy research there as well? Whatever it is, maybe those dome structures have something to do with it, but what could they be doing?

District 13’s original plan

So, we all know that District 13 was able to survive the Dark Days and exist in secret for 75 years as an underground stratocracy with a plan to one day overthrow the Capitol, but we’re never told what this plan was before Mockingjay.

After thinking it over though, I think that I’ve figured out what their plan was. Now, I know that there’s a cannon map featured in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but not taking that into account and also taking into account the popular theory that each district is numbered in terms of distance from the Capitol, I believe that District 13 is probably closest to districts 12, 11, 10 and 9.

Now, we all know that District 12 is a mere coal mining outpost, but the other three districts are the principle food suppliers of Panem, so what would happen if District 13 took all of these districts? The Capitol would starve.

My theory is that District 13’s original plan was to launch a massive attack and take all four of these districts, most likely when a victor would be crowned during a major Hunger Games because the Capitol would be distracted from any potential attack until it was too late.

After that, the war would resume and if District 13 could hold these lands for long enough, then the other districts would begin to rebel.

However, assuming that this was District 13’s plan, it never went into effect because of Katniss and instead, they went with the Mockingjay plan. Honestly, either one would’ve worked in my opinion, but if any of you have any thoughts, please leave them in the comments.

What did Serena expect Luke to tell Holly Jr.?

So, remember how Serena kept telling Luke "every child has a right to their own story"? Well, what I don't get is what did that woman expect him to possibly tell Nichole/Holly Jr.? Speaking of which, what did she honestly expect that little girl to think of her when she was old enough to know? Did she think that Nichole/Holly Jr. would want anything to do with her? Honestly, what is going on inside of Serena's mind?

Panem Space Program

So, we've all seen how advanced Panem is despite the fact that most technologies are strictly hoarded by the Capitol. We've seen hovercrafts and different types of weapons, everything needed to start up a space program.

Now, I myself am an avid supporter of the space program and all of the advancements that it brings and that's gotten me thinking: When would Panem begin to consider a space program?

Of course, I know what you're thinking: Why would Panem start up a space program after the Second Rebellion? You see, Panem is basically what's left of North America, most notably the United States and that country in particular landed on the moon a number of times before forgetting about it for fifty years. Now, the Capitol greatly restricted information, but chances are that when they were overthrown, lots of historical information became widely available, so the moon landings would eventually become common knowledge.

While this clearly wouldn't lead to a space program getting established right away with the country rebuilding after generations of authoritarian rule, it would do so further down the line and I'd say that after about fifty years, Panem would seriously begin to consider a moon program.

Now, given that the world was devastated and society collapsed before the rise of Panem, chances are that they won't just build a space shuttle or something right away, but they'll probably have to re-learn everything about spaceflight and it'll probably be a good few years at least before they even have someone in orbit like it was with Gagarin.

Optimistically, I'd say that they could have a moon landing about fifty years after the Second Rebellion, but realistically speaking, I'd say that it would be at least a century or so. Either way, it would be quite interesting to see a space race in a post-nuclear setting, wouldn't it?

What I think the original 3rd Quarter Quell was meant to be

So, it's often agreed that in the 3rd Quarter Quell, the Capitol likely changed around the quells so that they could get rid of Katniss. There's even a deleted scene which shows the letter getting burned and replaced with a new one and because of that and the fact that the arena was structured like a clock, I think that the original letter was meant to read as follows:
"As a reminder that time heals no wounds, this year's tributes shall be reaped from those aged 19 to 25."

Just how did Homelander expect Congress to be disbanded?

I’m not from America, but I know for a fact that you can’t just disband an elected legislature. The President himself said that he doesn’t have the authority to disband Congress and I’m also fairly certain that the Founding Fathers intended for there to be a Congress, so…just how did Homelander expected for Congress to be done away with? Also, how would he expect it to be justified to the public?
