Inspiration

I'm looking for a bit of inspiration I have built an home lab running proxmox on a dell vostro with home assistant, tailscale, and immich, I just spent half the day today installing both seerr and ryot hoping to centralized all my tracking from MAL and Trakt to find out doesn't sync automatically and add I use stremio on my tvs it all turned out to be a waste of time this was all from suggestions via ai which made me think I need to do some real life research instead into what I should add to my proxmox to improve my life and also things that are fun or give off cool tech vibes.

So first step all for some inspiration here

Games like project zomboid

I've played a little of project zomboid and I live the idea and the mechanics but I'm not a massive zombie game fan, I wonder why no one has ever created a fantasy or adventure game with the depth and mechanics of zomboid? I think it would be amazing to play, leveling up in the same way fighting goblins and stuff and coming across NPCs.

Mistfall hunters

I'm seeing alot of videos of mistfall hunters but the reviews aren't great, is it worth my time? I really enjoyed arc raiders but my first try of mistfall felt a bit clunky

Getting harder to get streams to work

Is it just me or are streams but as reliable recently? I used to click on an episode and boom we were playing but the past few weeks I have to scroll through several streams before one works since series are worse than others.

For example really struggling to get HotD to stream the past 2 weeks.

Could it be anything to do with when I moved from real debris to torbox?

Also is real debris still gone?

Looking for a military focused strategy game

Really fancy a strategy game that is focused on the military, where your armies matter.

I don't want to just be painting the map or building huge armies to just over power the enemy, I would prefer the soldiers to count and experienced soldiers be better than new recruits.

I also don't want a massive amount of building or nation management.

I also want to have to consider where I position armies or the time it takes for them to move.

Sorry should of mentioned I would like to play on a world map, and the armies have different compositions of troops

I hope all that makes sense.

Caves of Qud or drawf fortress or something else

I understand they are totally different games but which is the most fun sandbox with the most surprises and excitement where you can have a real adventure with engaging game play? There are also a few other choices out there like Elin and cataclysm ect.. to be fair project zomboid had amazing mechanics but it's just too easy to die and there are no NPC's and not quite got the sense of adventure or story. What's progress opinion on exciting sandbox games.

Caves of Qud or similar

Considering caves of Qud, I really fancy getting lost in an adventure with random possibilities I've looked at Elin too but I'm unsure, I know it's a total different game but I've also considered dwarf fortress.

I really want something with lots of possibilities and freedom but also where you don't feel like your playing aimless.

Games with randomness where there is no meta

I find these day's pretty much every game has a meta build or an optimal way of constructing something ect... Are there any games out there with total freedom where you can play as you like and there is a real joy at randomly creating something or stumbling across something? Or am I just being silly?

I'm not even aiming this at a specific genre for example if you play a game like satisfactory there are meta plans, if you play an RPG there are meta gear builds or skills I kinda want to play a game where I can randomly put two things together and be like wow that's cool how that worked.

I know a lot of you are going to say well just don't look online which is exactly what I try and do but that isn't what I'm talking about even if I don't look online for a build there is still a meta I want a game with some randomness if that makes sense.

Satisfactory

So I had this game on my radar for so long then I took the plunge as I fancied a game where you can craft things then automate it and move on to the next thing component or material and satisfactory has such a great user rating.

I found the first 5 or so hours fun but then I hit a brick wall due to being first person I found it hard to build a neat and ordered base I just feel like I have conveyors going all over the place and I need to manufacturer so many different items I will end up with splitters and mergers all over the place and a ton of manufacturers ect...

Does this improve as you go or is it always a fight against the chaos? I used to play mindustry on my mobile and I enjoyed getting everything organized and running smooth maybe I would of been better with factorio?

Ereader for books and manga

I'm looking for a bit of advice, I've been a big reader for many years and started with physical books but I moved to exclusively to reading on my phone using the Kindle app then over the past 2 years I moved back to physical books so that on holiday I want say on my phone I've also started reading manga occasionally and would like to read more, the drawback is when traveling I read manga so fast that I run out on holiday so I'm thinking of investing in an ereader to read both manga and books.

The question is which to go for, I like the idea of the kobo libra color as I like the idea of Google drive sync, I'm unsure yet if I need color but then I don't want to regret not having it later, I also like the idea of being able to add a stylus whether I do is another question.

Then there's the cost it is £240 is that overkill?

What are people's opinions? Would I be better with the cheaper kobo or a b&w device?

I'm looking at getting into the Sonos ecosystem as I've had enough of my Google nest speakers first spot is the kitchen, I currently have ceiling speakers in there on an amp and a nest hub but thinking about replacing these with a Sonos era 100, and a give assistant dashboard, is the 100 with the extra £30 over the SL? I don't think Sonos support Google anymore so I would only be able to use the voice for song selection I guess is there any other advantages?

Is it the consensus that the reolink poe doorbells are the best option for the cost to run on frigate on HA? All my over cameras are hikvision but I currently have a nest doorbell and I'm moving away from the nest stuff bit by bit.

I'm moving from a pixel watch 2 due to the terrible battery to Garmin instinct 3 but Garmin connect doesn't sync to any food apps I've always used MyFitnessPal premium but I've now been looking at fatsecret but it would be nice to have a central app to track food and fitness in one place any suggestions?
