French marigolds over mums for fall color?

I’m increasingly leaning toward French marigolds over mums for fall displays. Love their vibrant colors and long-lasting blooms. Sharing a few photos from my garden this year! Very impressed by the yellow variety!

My late summer garden in a bowl

I challenged myself this morning to spend 30 minutes before my corporate 9–5 arranging these cut flowers from my garden. I think I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!

This one was tough…

This arrangement fought me the whole way. All flowers from my garden.

My dahlias are gorgeous, but the stems are still too short to give me the placement I wanted. Meanwhile, the apricot/yellow climbing roses naturally wanted to spill outward, and I wasn’t sure whether to fight that or lean into it. In the end, I decided to work with what the garden gave me instead of forcing every stem into place.

I do love the color combination, though.
Curious what you’d change if this were yours.

A special visitor

The goldfinches love my anise hyssop. Sharing some pix I took. One of the many reasons I love gardening.
