Please, someone convince me itll be worth it. because none of my therapists can, and the advice out there doesnt tend to apply when youre also mentally disabled.
Apologies if its already been posted, but its from march and i cant check that far for reposts
r/Losercity is, more or less, a shitposting sub where a lot of furries happen to gather. not much to cover, its just shitposting and occasional sex jokes. its quite a lighthearted subreddit overall.
5 days ago (as of writing), one of the moderators (salt-flatworm-8075) posted an announcement that they would leave the mod team, citing mental health concerns. this went down more or less fine, and the comments were very supportive of salt taking a step forward in their mental health improvement.
1 day ago (as of writing), an announcement of salt-flatworm's death was posted by someone who self described as "no way a super active member of this community, nor am I a mod, or a person of any importance, for that matter." the post detailed that someone close to salt irl told them that salt had committed suicide. the comments were a mix of people meming, and scepticism.
I’m really not sure about this, something smells about the story the mods are giving. +190
so he died? and what's your source? you kinda danced around the subject of what actually happened +26
OP of the death announcement also links a post in the comments which appears to have included a photo of salt's supposed headstone before it was deleted.
Then, 6 hours ago (as of writing), shit hit the fan when salt themselves made a post where they explained that they faked their suicide. The post itself is a multi paragraph apology. Users and mods reacted, both criticising salt's actions and largely imploring they get off the internet.
Dude seriously get off the internet and go live your life. +41
Get off the internet because this is not normal behaviour for a person to think about doing. +30
i never thought you would stoop low enough to do this kind of shit, even if i was skeptical. +24
This situation appears to still be developing, sorry if something has changed about the situation while i was typing or if i got something wrong as im an outsider to the situation.
edit: i have been informed that salt has attempted to start a reddit coup at least once before. unrelated to the rest of the drama, but odd enough that im adding it in.
edit 2: i cant believe ive got to clarify this, but i didnt make this post with the intention of everyone throwing tomatoes at OOP whose having mental health issues.
They keep putting it up at tennocon. I dont care if its a scan or something, my friend wants to print one lol
posting for a friend who doesnt use reddit
looking for tentec tt-920 related documentation (manuals, schematics, specs, literally anything). I've scoured the internet to the point where I landed in some early 2000s era websites and I couldnt find anything. hoping someone here has something relevant. tentec publicly lists documentation for all their obsolete products, but this one is mysteriously missing any and all documentation. didnt get a reply to an email. all the info I could get was from random ebay listings.
Not sure what the name of this issue is. english isnt my first language so i might not be able to describe the problem very well verbally
my mouse is repeatedly having an issue where it doesnt track different directions consistently. for example, if i move my cursor in consistent circles in one spot, the cursor will drift down the screen or left and right, with it feeling like its moving slower when i move it in certain directions. i can recreate this issue on multiple surfaces including my mousepad and drawing tablet surface (smooth black plastic) as well as on my tabletop. mouse is plugged into a usb hub normally, but plugging it directly into a pc port as well as switching usb hub slots doesnt solve the problem. ive tried cleaning the sensor gently with isopropyl alcohol to no improvement. issue doesnt occur when using a generic london drugs gaming mouse (which has honestly seen way more use than my current one)
mouse is a logitech g203 and is a few years old. daily usage for gaming and browsing, but im not abusing it or anything. ive opened it up one time to replace the scroll wheel (wasnt tracking properly) and have cleaned it with IPA a few times before. i doubt any of that is the cause but i'll mention it just in case. there is also an aforementioned drawing tablet which may be relevant.
I feel like both dark heresy and rogue trader fans would benifit immensely from this. i am not interested in dark heresy and no amount of dark heresy posting is going to make me play it. i just dont want to.
even for people who do play/want to play both, this is a rogue trader subreddit and people shouldnt be here for dark heresy. this subreddit isnt r/roguetraderanddarkheresyCRPG, its r/roguetraderCRPG. it makes no sense for a different game which isnt really a sequel to RT to be lumped into this sub.
currently, both RT and DH fans have to sift through content from the other game to see content about the game they actually opened reddit for. currently, both RT and DH fans are getting the other game in their reddit feed because its all the same subreddit. currently, people who arent playing DH are at risk of getting spoilers for DH, and vice versa. (yes, spoiler flairs exist, but that doesnt help if the title has one too)
frankly i think DH fans have it worse because the subreddit is still mostly rogue trader content, which means they have to look through way more. Yes, looking through a certain flair is an option, but that means they'd be looking through quite a lot of flairs and i think thats kind of ridiculous.
memeposting flair because im not sure what else to flair this as. this is a genuine request.
edit: can we please put the pitchforks down? i dont understand why this community is so antagonistic to this suggestion.
foreword: I DO NOT PLAY LOVE AND DEEPSPACE. i apologise if i get information wrong as a result. i am also most likely going to get some information wrong because this is a very complex situation thats happening in multiple languages. Some of the information im getting is also being explained by my friend whose helping translate some chinese posts for me, so i apologise if any translation errors happen. This SRD is also part of a wider event occurring mostly off reddit.
Love and deepspace is a mobile gatcha game developed my chinese company infold (under paperfold), which prominently features male characters and a female MC. as an outsider, it appears to be more or less a dating game. Its important to know that for many chinese game devs, they will prioritise the opinion and feedback of the CN community over the global one.
Recently, a new character named Valko was announced for the next update to the game. This character was vastly unpopular with the chinese playerbase, who began revolting against the developers. It got to the point where they were sending funeral flowers, animal feces and ritual items to the developers (which in chinese culture is vaguely comparable to a death threat). His trailer also appeared to reference crimes against humanity perpetrated upon china during ww2, though this is speculation. they also called him gay. with chinese gaming communities still being quite homophobic, and china still having laws persecuting sexuality in media, this is meant as both an insult and an accusation of crime against the developers. Many of the complaints in that direction were that Valko was a "western style love interest" due to his nature as a wolf boy (i think? im not sure?) due to him being more western style masculine than chinese style (so, square jaw, muscular, etc), which in china is seen as gay.
beyond this, there is reportedly even more happening, but its both out of the scope of this post and far too confusing for me to really summarise, so im going to avoid actually explaining it here to avoid accidental misinformation. The drama involves players being called homophobic slurs (via avoiding text filters using homophones, which is an unfortunate exploit that occurs due to how the chinese language is spoken). People were also reportedly pursuing legal action due to the harrasment, and others were considering getting the CCP involved to make them censor what they see as "a gay character being made for western audiences). its important to note that i dont think they were actually adding anything explicitly gay, but i also dont know the whole situation so correct me if im wrong.
some posts were made about this, but it generally hadnt breached containment too horrendously.
then, just 9 days before the charatcer was set to release, the devs decided to respond to the players both in game and through social media (downvoted, thousands of comments), announcing that they have decided to cancel Valko and not add him to the game. This is where the subreddit goes into flames.
Right, so whose feedback, passion, and trust have actually been shaping this game?
This is an utterly insane decision.
Wow, you're really deleting all comments huh
The subreddit recieved further posts discussing the cancellation
To the CN players and the developers
If you are disappointed about Valko, here is the best way to let InFold know:\
The subreddit appears to be receiving a flood of posts that the mods are having trouble with, enough that theyve now made a post about it. there have been no new posts since, so the subreddit has most likely been put into lockdown.
If anyone in the LaDS community can help clarify or give a better timeline of events than what ive provided, please do and i'll link it here for reference.
Edit: thank you to u/hermannhessezacksnyd for additional info regarding the gay accusations, and thank you to u/grumpykruppy for providing additional context and crimes against humanity reference info. formatting, reordered some info to be more organised
edit 2: thank you to u/lumosdraconis forcontext from a LaDS player regarding long term game health concerns
edit 3: it appears that the entire outrage over Valko might have turned out to be a deliberate psyop by CN players who were trying to achieve some goal or another. crazy shit. i beg every LaDS player to touch grass today.
As the title says. Im on linux so i grabbed the free brave origin, but im wondering if i can transfer all my stuff over so im still logged into everything, have my bookmarks, etc. i'd be a bit miffed if ui have to log back into everything again.
(im asking on behalf of a friend, i dont use webtoons myself, sorry if that effects my responses lol. text is in first person because my friend typed the message)
I've been reading some Webtoons, and I keep coming across ones that say they're locked past a certain point, but the date it says the episode will become free to read is in the past. For example, I read one today and the unlock date for the next episode is for july 2023. Why is this happening? I can't pay for Webtoons because my payment methods aren't accepted. Is this a glitch?
I found this in someone's garden (i was just there to fix their garden box lol) so its possible that it came from some kind of compost. They said they didnt know where its from and gave me permission to take photos and ask
A good portion of the cutscenes look like this, play for about a second, and then end. Audio works ok but it cuts off when this screen closes. Some of them work, some dont.
Linux mint 22.2 through steam
Im looking to install a different OS on my NP2A. Is it possible? i know grapheneOS doesnt work but i really dont want to stick with NothingOS if i have any options at all.
Im primarily moving because i dont like that nothing is continuously adding genAI "features" (see: Bloatware) into the OS.
I want to preface this by saying i dont actually play any MC horror. its not really for me. I watch some on youtube though, mostly just for laughs because some mods can come off as really silly to me.
I've been watching youtube videos that showcase various horror mods that interact with your PC itself, such as opening windows, changing your wallpaper or showing you images from your computer. I don't want to install any of these mods because i see it as a security issue, but i wanted to ask if anyone here knows what happens when you run mods like that on linux. 99% of the time, these mods seem to be made by amateurs (no shade, just an observation) who certainly aren't accounting for any OS other than windows, and i'd imagine things like putting files in your PC or opening programs wouldn't really work on linux. I wanted to ask regardless, because im a bit curious about it.
i accidentally caugh that because i ran out of supplies to fix the cuts i had and i noticed they looked slightly different i assume it's the same for gunshot wounds and burns though i haven't got one yet i couldnt' fix
My friend wanted to watch some SOAD live since they're getting into the band, and we noticed that the pinkpop 2002 proshot (specifically the one uploaded by Obeythesystem on youtube) cuts several times to shots of Rammstein? its not that we mind, we both love rammstein, but its a really confusing choice? there's a several minute long, low fidelity, uncut shot of them just standing there that takes up most of Lookout Weekend (55:47 ish). ive never seen a proshot do this before, what the fuck lmao?
i apologise if this has already been asked. i did a search and didnt see anyone mentioning this
Apparently a tornado from today hit the servers for warframe (a videogame, if it wasnt clear). the dev team's home office is in london ontario so im guessing that's what hit the servers.
My friend was trying to log into the game at the time that they started going down. i couldnt have possibly guessed that THIS is what caused it. We're both pleasantly surprised that the servers are back up, honestly.
Sorry mods, if this is too far removed from tornadoes for this sub. i just dont know where else to talk about it because this is honestly super baffling news for me
