1700s getting smoked by 400s once in a while in bullet

i play unrated bullet games with upper/lower bound of opponents set to infinity/negative infinity so i play all skill levels. i can play carelessly against 1000 and lower and demolish them consistently. once in a while ill get an opponent 400-500 and i get absolutely destroyed. one guy that just destroyed me has a history of 700 games, all unrated. another guy that crushed me has 10k games history, mostly unrated, and total of 625 brilliant moves. these are most likely a good player choosing to not level up right? am i just stupid occasionally?

complaint: impossible to get invoices older than 18 months

the website only gives you invoices for the past 18 months. so i called support 2 months ago. they said they can't email me the old invoices but can mail them to me. the mail never came. called support again. after a 1 hour chat, they concluded i'm talking to support in the wrong province and that they can't do anything for me. they transferred me. again: 1 hour chat, wrong province, redirect. this time i asked if i'm talking to the right province before the 1 hour preamble explaining my situation. wrong province, redirect. finally: correct province. support said there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. those invoices are irretrievable. disappointing, upsetting, annoying. why does this have to be so difficult?

Assiniboine trip -- Sunshine to Magog early july

the trail report (https://assiniboinelodge.com/trail-report) says lots of snow on assiniboine pass, but it doesn't look like the sunshine to magog route touches assiniboine pass? correct me if i'm wrong. looks like it's more Citadel pass. any ideas how the snow situation right now? i'd be going in a few days. i'm doing sunshine to magog in one day ... i've done longer single-day hikes with more elevation, but am wondering if there's any reason to make the trek in two days instead of one? i've done the mt shark -> magog route, one day in, one day out in autumn. plan is to do sunshine -> magog, one day in one day out this time July 2nd. reasonable enough or is the snow gona slow me way down? trail report says "trail is mostly stomped" ... i don't need to worry about avalanche at this time right?

correct way to learn and internalize scales?

i think of scales as fretboard box shapes. like i know A melodic minor is just A major with a flat third because on the 6th string, it's 5, 7, 8 instead of the 5, 7, 9 of the A major scale, all other notes are the same as the A major scale. Or like A Mixolydian is just A major with a flat 7 because on the D string it's 5, 7, 9 instead of the 6,7, 9 of the A major scale. this system kinda works and i can get around, but i am wondering just how bad it is to think like this? i've been playing for years like this but only starting to get serious about theory now. opened up Levine's Jazz Theory and i realized i need to convert notation to tabs and fretboard diagrams in my head to understand the intervals and chords, seems like it'd be better to just bypass the tab conversion step? how much of a disservice have i done to myself thinking purely in tabs and shapes? what's the next best step for me? i like fingerstyle chord-melody jazz and improvising with a pick over chord progressions

which BIOS version to run for x870e Carbon motherboard?

i'm suddenly having some unexplained shutdowns and crashes (running linux) after months of stable performance. i think a BIOS update could fix it but looks like there were some really bad BIOS updates. i'm thinking 7E49v1A95, released 2026-03-20 should do the trick but would love to hear from anyone that's familiar with this. i've been running 1.A30 which is like 15 months old this whole time

old PowerTab site?

Back in my youth in the mid 2000's there was a cool PowerTab site that I loved. If I recall correctly, Ultimate Guitar didn't have PowerTabs at the time, and you'd just go to this website to get your PowerTabs. It didn't look good but it had some great (Power)Tabs. I'd love to find that site again. Anyone know what it was called or whether it still exists? Or maybe there is a mirror for it? thanks

should i fret the 3rd note with the 3rd or 4th finger?

neither 3rd nor 4th finger feels fluid for me for the last two notes -- i'm not used to stretching the 3rd finger like that, and when i finger it with the 4th then i have to rush the pinkie to finger the last note -- but i'm thinking my time is better spent learning to finger it with the 3rd because it's more efficient. thoughts?

getting habituated to blast sound and recoil?

first time shooting a 22LR the noise and recoil was a bit much. second time it was no problem at all, and i was shocked at the difference between first and second session. i'm now up to a 12ga and 308 Win. been a few sessions and the blast and recoil are still overwhelming. i'm using in-ear + over-ear protection. i'm wondering if i'm particularly sensitive person or if there's a good strategy for getting used to this. any insights appreciated

i'm finding rear bags between 20-400$ (CAD) which is an insane range. i don't want to spend 400 but i can spend more than 20. i know the Gamechanger bag is recommended here but that's the 400$ one. maybe you guys can tell me what makes a good bag or drop some cheaper recommendations please

it doesn't take much pressure to bring down the cheek riser despite tightening the screw as much as i physically can. the threads look fine, the wedges on the plastic pieces inside look fine. nothing looks worn or damaged, but surely this can't be normal right? this is a new rifle.

i do data science and software engineering work. have noticed when i am writing lots of code, i suddenly become way better at chess. this is reflected in how many games i win and how much my ELO increases. however when i'm not writing a lot of code for a while, i become clearly worse at chess. it's like coding rewires my brain to become smart somehow but when i stop it goes back to default mode, and my default is i am kind of a dumbass
