Rose of Sharon in Wedding Bouquet?

I am planning my colors, florals, decor, etc for my wedding right now, and I realized I really want to incorporate rose of sharon into my bouquet somehow. After a quick search though I realized that would be incredibly difficult because my wedding is June 25th, 2027 so they will not be in bloom, and even if they were, they're super prone to wilting.

I really want to include them because my grandma passed away 4 years ago from cancer and she was a huge gardener. Her name was Sharon and she planted rose of sharon bushes all around the perimeter of her yard. They're beautiful and I think it would be a great way to honor her at my wedding. I thought about even using the leaves or closed buds as greenery in it, but they're really woody stems and I don't know if that would work.

So my question is would it be difficult or look weird if I incorporated some high quality faux rose of Sharon flowers into a fresh bouquet? Or do you have any recommendations that's would make it possible to include fresh ones? Or any flowers that would pair well with greenery and buds from the bush? I don't have a preference on flower colors to go with it or anything. I would honestly be okay with center my color scheme around it so whatever you think would look nice that would be great! I am not afraid of color either so go for it!

Thank you!

so tired of people "saving" machines

It should not be allowed or considered socially acceptable to put your stuff on a machine to "save it" for your next exercise and walk away to work on something else. Other people need it and use it. Especially in my super tiny location!!!! They only have about 1 of everything. I understand if you needed the bathroom or you're doing a super set or something, but doing a whole other machine of 4 sets with 2m rest and having your stuff on another machine hogging it is just incredibly stupid and inconsiderate.

update: bro is literally walking all around the gym doing everything BUT using that machine and then just walking back to it to do 2 movements and walk away again

Is Bar Masters legit? Anyone used them before?

I just saw an ad for bar masters on instagram and I am intrigued, but I do not want to be scammed. Has anyone booked services with them before? How did that work out?

This is their website

I feel like i've tried every cost saving hack and still can't afford the wedding I want

General idea:

-venue for 100 or so guests
-beer and wine (cut liquor)
-cheapest food options ($25 a person)
-faux florals and diy all of them
-only a MOH and a best man, nobody else
-combined bachelorette at a bowling alley that's pay your own way
-no rehearsal dinner at all
-considering MCing with our own playlist
-upcoming photographer
-second hand dress or cheaper online options or off the rack stores
-cake and desserts from costco
-no wedding favors (they get thrown away anyway)
-pretty much no decor. seating chart made out of a pallet, string lights i already own, and hand made lists
-all invitation type things are virtual or we don't have them at all
-considering doing makeup at a salon, but it ends up being the same as hiring an artist to come out
-cheap simple wedding bands
-family friend officiating
-driving ourselves
-all accessories off etsy or borrowed or already own them

like what am i missing?? how is this still nearly 20k???? we haven't even talked about a honeymoon yet.

granted, we need 2 dresses 2 bridal makeup/hair appointments.

I have been dreaming of having a wedding since I was little. I just don't understand why the average wedding cost as much as my student loans do.

edit: thank you for the advice. I cannot cut my guest list to below about 75. 75 would be i don't invite any of my friends or family i see regularly but do not feel close to. like great aunt etc.

I want to get married in June of 2027. We have been together for nearly 4 years, and I do not want to wait another 2-3 years. I want everything to be same day too. no reception months later. it has to be june or july because we are both teachers and we want to be able to go on a honeymoon pretty much right after.

My top priorities are looking amazing, having some nice photos, my family being there, my honeymoon, and being able to eat and drink SOMETHING. anything... i don't want to be hangry at my own wedding.

Exhausted from being a lesbian in the heteronormative wedding market

My fiancé (F26) and I (F23) recently got engaged and are starting to plan our wedding. I understand that 90% of weddings are between a man and a woman, but come on!!! We are both femme and plan on wearing a wedding dress, and that is so hard for people to understand for some reason. They have this preconceived notion that someone has to be wearing a suit. Not all lesbians like wearing masculine presenting clothing, and nobody is "the man!!" People keep asking us who will sit on the grooms side, if one of us will have all of the men in the wedding party, etc.

I am also sooooooooo sick of seeing posts like "your wedding dress based on your fiancé's name" and it's all like mark, nathan, jacob, etc. Or the same thing but with engagement rings. Like I get it!! The wedding market does not see me as their ideal audience!! but i am a lesbian and me and my femme fiancé are getting married.

It's nice in the sense that it kind of breaks us out of traditional wedding boxes and we can do what we want, but I am the type of girl who has dreamed ab her wedding since she was little and obsessed over say yes to the dress. I want a classic wedding, and that makes my life hard, because the unconventional things aren't really my style as much.

And don't even get me started on the lesbian wedding tax!! it's like the pink tax!! 2 engagement rings, 2 dresses, 2? makeup artists and hair stylists, twice the accessories and alterations budget, like damn!! we're already paid less than the dollar can you give us a damn break!!!!

edit: we are located in the cleveland area if you have any recs!!!

Are these good emerald cut lab options?

I want it to be slightly elongated. I am unsure about the black coloring or if it's doing a window effect or something bad. I just want the perfect diamond for my fiancé.

Hair Salon Recommendations On A Budget

I just moved here and need a haircut. I have never gone anywhere but great clips in the past, but they wronged me and I need to look elsewhere. I have hair a few inches past my collar bone that is a wavy/curly texture. I would like to get some curtain bangs and face framing layers with an overall trim. I am not in a position to be spending upwards of $70+ on a cut, so let me know if there is anywhere decent in the area that has cuts for around $40 (I heard this is the standard). If $40ish is before tip that is fine. I just cannot be spending 70 plus 20 for tip etc. I don't need anything fancy, but I do not want to be botched either!

Do workers like it when you order ahead on the app?

I always order ahead when I go to McDonald's or Dunkin or anything else that I have an app for. Is this actually helpful? Or does it make your life more stressful?

Long story short, I am poor. All I want to do is ride a bike for fun. I don't care if it's premium condition. It just needs to work for a 5'9 215lb woman. If it lasts a year, great. I will buy another one that is actually nice if I stay interested in it as a hobby.

I just want a bike as a beginning tool to get into the hobby. I need an entry level bike. That's it. If I go to Walmart or something and get a $200 bike is it really going to fall apart and break after 6 months if I keep it indoors and take care of it?

I am going into my second year as a teacher. This year I taught 5th grade ELA/SS in a low income urban setting. Next year I am going to teach 8th gen science and 9th grade physical science in a rural setting. I've been thinking a lot about classroom routines and layout. Are there any key points you've noticed that work well with older students?

I student taught and taught 5th grade only. I've done summer camp programs with middle school, but not actual school. I am nervous I will unintentionally infantilize them or overcompensate and treat them too much like adults. For example, what classroom routine expectations need to be taught at HS and MS level that aren't a concern for elementary and vice versa? It's not like I need to teach MS and HS to line up or anything, but should we practice coming into the room and sitting calmly? Or should I teach those skills more indirectly than you would with elementary (ex: teach them to expect bell work when they come in so they sit down and get start immediately instead of teaching "walk to seat, sit quietly, get out this and that, etc.)
