1970’s
The mimic is created by Henry Emily (or some dud named Edwin that I know literally nothing about), although the project doesn’t end up working out, this gets the attention of fellow engineer and family man, William Afton.

1980’s
William Afton and Henry Emily found Fredbear’s family diner.

FNAF 4 (nights 1-5) take place in the dreams of the crying child; who is terrified of the animatronics and dreads his upcoming birthday at the location. (Plush-trap segments are real, cc’s excuse to not go to sleep.)

The bite of 87, Michael accidentally slaughters crying child, his vengeful spirit becomes the entity known as golden Freddy.

FNAF 4 (Night 6 and custom night) Take place in Michael’s dreams after killing crying child, now tormented by the tool he used to kill his brother.

The bite results in Fredbear’s family diner closing down; because of this the new animatronic designs made by William based on the Freddy and friends cartoon never get used. Their rotting shells end up becoming the withered animatronics.

William develops the toy animatronics, and the new and improved Freddy Fazbear’s pizza opens.

Toy foxy is beaten up by a crowd of small children and turns into mangle.

William Afton accidentally kills the daughter of Henry Emily; Charlotte after a show In the back alley of Freddy’s. William finds he enjoys the sensation of killing and begins hatching a plan. Meanwhile the security administration animatronic (the puppet) leaves for maintenance and becomes possessed by Charlie’s ghost.

William Afton murders another child; this time in the guise of the spring Bonnie suit, before the events of the first night in FNAF 2, killing more and hiding their bodies in the camera’s blind spots between nights.

These events create shadow Freddy and Rqfsfasxc, physical manifestations of the trauma brought about by the Fazbear entertainment brand.

FNAF 2 takes place, with Jeremy Fitzgerald as the night guard. (Or Fritz in The non-canon custom night.)

Somebody finds the body of the last missing child; Casssidy. This results In the closure of the new and improved Freddy fazbear’s pizza.

Afton develops the Funtime animatronics in secret, only allowing one to be used publicly as the private animatronic for children’s parties of friends of the company; Circus baby. Afton stores the rest In an underground warehouse, where he also builds more.

Afton programs E.N.N.A.R.D; an animatronic mask with the protocol to defend William at all costs. He reprograms the rest of the Funtime animatronics to fuse to together into an endoskeleton for E.N.N.A.R.D in the event severe harm comes to Afton.

Circus baby kills Elizabeth Afton; William’s daughter. Her soul then vengefully haunts the animatronic. Following this, William stows it away in the warehouse.

Henry becomes vastly concerned with the safety of the animatronics following the toy animatronics facial recognition software and circus baby’s… everything. Seeking to go back to basics, he rebuilds and repairs the original withered animatronics into the original animatronics at last.

1990’s
Freddy fazbear’s pizza opens.

William keeps killing children at the new pizzeria. However; the puppet, having hid in the new location while it was being refurbished, stuffs the bodies of the original missing children inside the animatronic suits.

FNAF 1 takes place; Mike Schmidt is the night guard, and phone guy Ralph dies during the events of the game.

Immediately after the game; William Afton is finally convicted for the deaths of the missing children. Before he’s finally sent off to jail however, he turns to his last child, Michael.

William sends Michael, ever desperate for parental approval, to the sister location warehouse to “keep the animatronics safe.”

FNAF sister location takes place. During the final night of the game; circus baby mistakes Michael for William, and forces him into the animatronic repair room to disembowel him. Immediately realizing her mistake, Elizabeth flees the bunker in fear and misery, eventually morphing into the animatronic known as scrap baby during her time fending for herself.

At that same time, seeing Michael die, the funtimes also mistake him for William; and unite themselves into E.N.N.A.R.D, Possessing Michael’s corpse to use as a shell.

While wearing Michael’s skin, E.N.N.A.R.D testifies in court for William’s innocence. William Afton is set free.

William decides to return to the now closed FNAF one location to finish his job. He Disassembles the animatronics one by one, but something is still missing; his old suit.

On his mission to retrieve the spring Bonnie suit, William is cornered by the ghosts of his past victims. William attempts to escape by any means necessary, putting on the spring Bonnie suit to try and scare the spirits off. This almost works; but while William laughs at his supposed victory, a drip of water falls on the suit, causing in mechanisms to fail, killing William Afton. William’s Spirit haunts the now immobile suit.

Michael’s corpse finally vomits out E.N.N.A.R.D. However, something interesting happens afterward. Due to Michael’s body being a shell surrounding a mechanical endoskeleton, it technically counts as an animatronic. Because of this, Michael possesses his own corpse, revived as a zombie.

During the following thirty years, Michael does deep research on the entire history of the fazbear entertainment brand, discovering and cataloguing the company’s complete works. (This is how he knows about the animatronics and hallucinates the phantoms)

2020’s
Thirty years after sister location, and Fazbear entertainment isn’t doing too hot. The military contracts keeping the company afloat in secret were shut down when the CEO (Henry Emily) found out. They couldn’t just open another restaurant due to the social stigma and legend of all of the dead children and missing employees. And that’s when the idea hits them for a horror attraction.

Salvagers are sent across the nation to collect Freddy’s memorabilia, and one finds the shut down and decrepit remains of the FNAF one building. Inside he checks the back room and finds the jackpot of all jackpots; a working animatronic suit from Fredbear’s family diner. The newly christened Springtrap is made the villain of Fazbear frights.

The puppet makes its way to the building and Starts haunting its halls as a secret to everybody.

Upon hearing about the corpse of his father in the Fazbear fright location, Michael jumps on the opportunity to end things, once and for all.

FNAF 3 finally takes place, Michael preforms various minigames to attract the souls of the missing children, and starts the ritual to end it all.

Michael burns down Fazbear’s frights with him and William locked inside. The souls of him and the children finally allowed to move on.

Unfortunately for everyone known to man, William survived, now a being known as scraptrap.

An auction is held to sell off the surviving merchandise from the burnt building. And Henry Emily purchases the puppet found in the wreckage.

Henry Emily contsructs lefty; an animatronic specifically made to contain the puppet and keep it calm while Henry enacts his plan.

Henry Emily, having seemingly had a change of heart, tells corporate to open a new Freddy’s restaurant, one he’ll manage himself no-less!

FNAF 6: Pizzeria simulator takes place. By day, Henry Emily manages, for the first time in a long time, a highly successful pizzeria, complete with a new animatronic band of his own design, the rockstar animatronics!
By night; Henry gathers a set of four animatronics: The corpse of William Afton; Scraptrap, The remains of circus baby; Scrap-Baby, The now dirty and violent body of E.N.N.A.R.D, having malfunctioned after losing his purpose; Molten Freddy, and the one who allowed Henry to start all of this, his own child; lefty.
With all four of them in tow; Henry has given up his cross to bear, and traps to four of them in specialized furnaces, these devices will melt them down to their bases, allowing them to finally move on. However, Henry has lived a long life, and in co-founding Freddy’s, is responsible for all of this. Henry lets the pizzeria burn down; still inside to whole time.

After everyone’s souls move on, Henry prepares one final punishment for Afton, to be torn apart by the animatronics for eternity.

William burns in ultimate custom night forever.

Fazbear entertainment PANICS. Their only hint of profit in years just went up in flames (literally) so they start searching through company files; discovering the mimic.

2030’s
Fazbear entertainment finds Michael’s records of the first five FNAF games, and decide to make the story into a VR video game to finally make the public think the scandals were just insensitive hype to add mystery to the company.

To make the simulation extra realistic (and because there are no animatronics left after the fires,) they upload the mimic’s programming to FNAF VR. The mimic, having been front-loaded with the whole dark history of its creator, malfunctions, and believes that it IS William Afton.

The mimic gaslights the playtester of the game into going crazy; the once normal Vanessa Shelly is morphed into the serial killer Vanny.

Despite the playtester not being in any way stable, FNAF VR is a huge, huge success! With the money they made, Fazbear entertainment builds THE PIZZAPLEX. Vanny is hired as it’s sole night guard (the rest are all robots)

The glamrock animatronics are made.

Montgomery gator kills glamrock Bonnie out of jealousy.

Security breach takes place. The mimic finally has a body made for it, but is foiled by some meddling kid.

Ruined takes place. I haven’t seen anything related to it.

I know nothing about what happens in the books other than that my friend fucking hates them for making the lore too complex.
