im a paleontology fan and this has always confused me what is a true tetrapod?, i though that ichtyostega and animals like it were true tetrapods and some sources ive seen say this but wikipedia implies through cladistic graphs that only crown tetrapods are true tetrapods so what is a true tetrapod? what constitutes as evidence of a species being one?

so ive noticed in powerscaling many characters are frowned upon for relying on statements instead of feats as evidence of their power, like kratos is an example i found so i was wondering why are characters like kratos mocked for relying on statements but characters like azathoth who also relies on statements are universally recognized as strong?even non powerscalers recognizes azathoths strenght,what makes a good statements character?
