I’ve been working on this bullet heaven, action roguelike for almost 3 years now.

It’s a 2.5D wave-based roguelike where you play as God, sent down to rescue the king’s five daughters from an evil wizard and his army. You fight through massive enemy waves, build up your character during each run, and scale into increasingly chaotic fights.

The game includes:

  • 180+ unlockable items
  • Wave-based combat against massive enemy hordes
  • Epic boss fights
  • Build variety through weapons, skills, and consumables
  • Higher difficulty (curse) levels that unlock extra build options
  • Random world events like storms, wind, and rockfalls

I’m currently polishing the gamepad / Steam Deck experience and working toward a demo for Steam Next Fest in Q4 2026.

I’d really appreciate any feedback - especially on what stands out from the gameplay, or anything that feels unclear or confusing.

The collectible menu now shows detailed statistics, including weapon stats, skill and consumable descriptions, as well as enemy health, movement speed, damage, and short descriptions.

How would you market a bullet hell / action roguelike game in 2026?

I’m developing a bullet hell, action roguelike game and I’m curious what marketing strategies people think actually work for this genre.

I already have:
A solid Steam store page (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3140190)
Some short gameplay videos on social media

Beyond that, what would you focus on?
Have you found success with Reddit, YouTube, Steam community posts, TikTok, Discord communities, or something else?

Should I hire a professional artist for my roguelike game's capsule art, or stick with my own work?
