Different screen dimensions for same advertised screen size.

I have two TVs both advertised as 25”. Side by side I thought “that one looks wider”. Then when I measured them one was 21” X 16”. The other was 21” x 15”. So that’s why it looked wider. The ratio is different. Is this something that matters? Like one would be more ideal?

At long last, I can play Game Genie on my toploader. It’s been a long time since I was able to use a Game Genie for that reason.

Quick question about the Bosch 800 Dishwasher and Power Control

So you can set the power control to any of three settings. Low medium or high. In my custom set up on the app, I did the lowest settings all around.

Now there are three buttons on the dishwasher. Front, back and custom. Front is the half closest to you, back being furthest away. Custom will do whatever you set up in the app. Low all around in my case.

So if my thinking is correct that means the front and back buttons will always be set to high and you can’t change that, even in the app. So if I wanted to do high all around, I would have to press both the front and back buttons. Is my understanding of how all this works correct?

Beat The Lion King on original hardware and the hardest difficulty setting… right after doing the same on SNES. Both games in the same night. Got it first try on Genesis. I can cross both of these off the list now.

There we go. I’ve beaten The Lion King on original hardware and on the hardest difficulty setting. This one feels good to check off.

Is this true? In Arkansas if you make a code complaint, the person you filed the complaint on can just FOIA your name, number and address? The government doesn’t let us see that info of their employees, so why on earth would my personal contact info be public record?

Did you guys know you can start The Lion King with a fully upgraded Roar and Health meter?

Brand new Amarr 3000. Is this something to be concerned about?

It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the upper panel is dented a little and the paint on both sides has a tacky feel to it. You can see how the paint looms a little messed up. I can’t really tell what happened here. It’s not crazy noticeable or anything, I just want to make sure it’s not something I should bring up.

Help find a book from the early days of iTunes about time freezing

So I first got this book for free as an audio book on iTunes back in 2002ish maybe? Not piracy mind you. I believe the author narrated and released it himself. It was about a guy who was able to move normally through time, but time had slowed down to the point of appearing to stand still for everything around him. I remember finding a hot meal was a big deal because you had to hope that somebody had made food right before time slowed down.

This ring any bells?

Outside of piracy, is there any way to get a printed version of Lux?

I recently finished the Reckoners trilogy and am following up with Lux, but it seems to only be on Audio book. I’m having a really hard time with the format. My mind might drift for 30 seconds and suddenly I’m lost and trying to rewind. With a book I can just dart my eyes right back to the line I stopped on if I get distracted. The narration bugs me. His pacing is all off from what I’d expect and it’s jarring. It’s one guy doing every voice and I don’t love the way he’s making his accent sound like it’s from the old west or something. The accent is VERY hammed up for what’s supposed to be considered a post modern Texas.

That’s a lot of bitching, but I just can’t do audio books and it’s kinda killing me to keep attempting to listen to this story that I’m actually interested in. It’s probably a me problem, so I don’t want to keep ragging on the narrator or anything. I just have trouble paying attention and retaining what’s being told. I’d much rather read it for myself.

I’m pretty sure it’s not out there and this is a shot in the dark. I just figured I’d ask and try.

For years I have said I want a fridge with a tank of water because you get one glass of cold water at best out of the dispenser. Today that is a reality for me. Loving this feature on my new fridge.

NES Controller - Let me ask about a dream I have

So on NES, most games use B to run/shoot and A to jump. Sometimes you’ll come across games like Dragon’s Lair where they reverse this order. After endless years of training your brain one way, they suddenly flip it!

Now you can say just play for a while and get used to the controls, and sure you can do that. But I feel like it’ll never be 100% natural and I don’t even really want it to be because that’s just rewiring how my brain works into this backwards ass way of playing.

So my dream is to have a special controller that has the a and b buttons swapped that I could use exclusively on games like this. I don’t know anything about modding. I’d want to pay somebody to do it, likely. I’d just break things. Trust me, I’ve tried. But is it even possible to maybe jump traces or something in order to make this work?

Bosch 800 - Will it tell me when I need to add rinse aid?

I can’t find this answer anywhere. For all I can tell my rinse aid is empty, but it hasn’t alerted me to fill it up yet.

The design is kinda crappy. My cheap Whirlpool dishwasher had a little gauge to see how much rinse aid was currently in it. With the Bosch you’re blind.

VM2 vs VMU Pro

I’ve been using the VM2 to hold my saves and it’s been working like a champ since I got it. My preorder of the VMU Pro came in and I totally forgot I even ordered it lol. I’ve been sitting in it for a while now. I do love 8BitMods and use several of their other products like the Memcard Pro, Memcard Pro 2 and Memcard Pro GC. All three are exceptional at what they do. Call me a fan.

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth my time switching everything over, though. All I care about is saving. I don’t want to bother playing games on the VMU or anything. What’s your thoughts?
