If you were evaluating Celonis today, what other platforms would make your shortlist?

I’m part of an operations transformation team at a large enterprise and looking at tools that can help us understand where workflows break down before investing further in automation and AI initiatives.

Celonis is the obvious name that comes up, but I’m seeing more discussion around platforms like Skan AI, Mimica, KYP.ai, and others that seem to approach process discovery and operational visibility differently.

For teams that evaluated this category, what ultimately became the deciding factor in your selection?

is anyone using automation planning software or is it mostly spreadsheets?

Our automation team has built a decent backlog over the last year, but prioritization is becoming harder than implementation. Some opportunities look obvious until someone digs in and discovers 15 exceptions, multiple approval paths, manual workarounds, and dependencies nobody documented. Other workflows seem complicated on the surface but end up being surprisingly straightforward once you map them out. Right now we're mostly using spreadsheets, workshops, and process maps to decide what gets automated next, but it feels increasingly subjective. The loudest stakeholder often wins. We've had a few cases where something looked like a great automation candidate, only to discover halfway through that the real process was very different from what was documented. I'm curious how other teams are handling this. Are you using dedicated process discovery or automation planning tools before committing engineering or RPA resources, or is everyone still relying on spreadsheets and interviews?

How far outside Houston do you have to go before land prices make sense?

Land around Houston seems to go from expensive to very cheap pretty fast once you get far enough out, but I'm having trouble figuring out where that line is. Has anyone mapped out roughly how far you need to go before acreage starts feeling attainable? And does it stay connected enough to Houston to make sense for someone who'd still need to get into the city sometimes?

Can MCP bridge the gap between AI and manufacturing systems?

I’ve been reading more about MCP in manufacturing and it feels like the conversation is starting to shift from AI models themselves to the systems those models can actually interact with.

A lot of manufacturing environments still run on disconnected systems across ERP, MES, PLM, quality, and production data. Even when companies want to use AI, the information is often too fragmented for agents to work with effectively. That’s why MCP seems interesting. Instead of building one-off integrations every time, it creates a more structured way for AI systems to interact with operational data and workflows.

One area that stands out to me was how PLM platforms are approaching this through API-first and MCP support. The idea of AI agents interacting directly with structured BOMs, components, revisions, and change workflows feels much more practical than isolated chatbot-style use cases.

I can also see this becoming relevant in areas like energy management and industrial automation, where systems already generate huge amounts of operational data but still struggle to share context cleanly. But I’m still trying to figure out how much of this is real production adoption versus early experimentation.

Has anyone here seen MCP being used successfully in manufacturing or industrial environments yet?

Should mechanics charge separately for diagnostic fees?

Came across a meme recently along the lines of: "thanks for telling us what needs to be fixed, and yes we're still charging you for figuring that out." It was funny but also made me think. I get that diagnosing a problem takes real time, experience, and equipment. That's not nothing. But it can feel rough to pay a diagnostic fee and then have the repair cost on top of it, especially when the issue turns out to be something that seemed straightforward. What's the general view here - does charging for diagnostics separately make sense, or should it get rolled into the repair if the work gets done?

How long did it take to notice anything from saffron supplements? Realistic timelines only, plz

Been researching saffron as a daily addition to my routine, mostly for mood and general wellness. Read a few studies (the ones on 28mg/day are interesting) but the timelines in studies range so much I genuinely have no idea what to expect. Anyone here running it consistently? Did you notice anything in the first couple weeks or did it take longer? And are you using a tincture/drop format or capsules?

Little Otter vs other online therapy options for kids

I am trying to understand how pediatric online therapy options differ because a lot of the websites start to sound the same from the outside. Emora Health, Brightline, Talkspace, Amwell and Thriveworks are the ones Im comparing right now, but the care models seem pretty different depending on age, parent involvement, insurance, psychiatry access and whether the therapist really works with kids or mostly teens. I care most about fit for younger children, how involved parents are in sessions and how quickly care can start. For people who know this space, what should parents compare first when looking at Little Otter alternatives or similar services?

what are the best credit card debt relief programs?

Im 29 with around $31k in credit card debt across 7 accounts, most sitting near 28% interest and the minimums are taking about $720 a month on $3400 take home. Accredited Debt Relief, Beyond Finance, Americor and National Debt Relief keep showing up when I research debt relief companies. Consolidation loans have been a dead end because my DTI is too high and credit counseling still had fees plus interest. I can cover $1650 rent and basics but barely anything extra. Some have better reviews than others but when youre not ready for bankruptcy and the non profits still charge you but these companies are saying I wont have to pay th full balances how do you decide whats best for you?

Has anyone actually splurged on less, higher quality clothing?

I have been attempting to purchase fewer of them that I really like and it sounds easy enough, but I have not been able to. Have any of you been able to do it for the long haul? If you are using it, did it influence the way that you dress your regular routine?

What’s a dress brand you actually trust at this point?

I have a ton of weddings, engagement parties, baby showers and bachelorette parties this summer and I'm trying to get a few dresses I can wear to multiple events. I’ve been trying a lot of different brands lately but I'm not having the best luck finding things that I can wear for a variety of events and style multiple ways so it doesn't feel like I'm outfit repeating. Either the fit is off or the pattern gets overplayed with everyone posting outfit roundups on ig and tiktok. Does anyone have a go-to brand for dresses that’s been consistently good for them? Trying to be a bit more intentional instead of constantly experimenting and then the dress falls apart after 1-2 wears and then I have to purchase something else the next time I'm invited to an event.

udacity vs codeacademy ai course

Comparing udacity and codecademy and a few other options for agentic ai basics and hands on practice. I mostly care if its legit hands on or just click next energy, how much setup I have to do myself and if the exercises get real feedback. Has anyone tried either and felt like it was worth the grind?

The truth is, there are many growth problems that are just inventory problems disguised as growth problems.

I can’t tell you how many product businesses don't really have a growth problem. Typically it's stockouts or poor forecasting, or poor purchasing process, or not really knowing where the margin is going. We continued to pursue more sales without cleaning up ops and each good week made the following weeks more tumultuous. When we had our stock and planning down to a science, things began to run rather smoothly. Too hard or as may be?

debt consolidation loans vs debt settlement for someone with maxed credit cards

Im beating myself up trying to manage $25k in credit card debt spread across 6 accounts at 27% interest. Paying about $636 a month to cards and take hom $3112 a month after taxes. Theirs literally nothing left over after $1500 rent $75 power $180 for gas $70 for internet $66 for car insurance and $85 for my phone. I spend the remaining $500 on food I make at home and barely break even at the end of every month.

I get super depressed thinking about my future bc at this pace its going to take 8-9 years to pay off the cards and ill pay another 41k on interest alone according to one of those interest calculators. Tried applying for a debt consolidation loan but since thats just a big loan to cover everything and my dti ratio sucks there isnt anyone willing to lend me that much, especially since my balances are so high. Trying to increase my income but feeling like bankruptcy is one of my only options since cant get a consolidation loan.

Checked into credit counseling but since ive got my budget in shape and the nonprofits still charge fees and interest Im srsly thinking about a relief program. Noticed reviews for accredited debt relief and beyond finance talking about reducing the total amount plus less interest and the hit to your credit isnt as long as bankruptcy but not sure how i feel about letting them default because thats how the settlement companies and relief programs work.

My parents told me just to keep doing balance transfers and requesting line of credit increases and ill eventually be eligable for a consolidation loan but still cant see that going faster than bankruptcy. They cant help me because theyre struggling to pay off their own mountain of debt (guess we know where I learned how to spend from). Wwyd?

edx ai course vs udacity nanodegree

I want to make an example of an agentic AI thatll prove i know what Im doing in job interviews. Currently comparing the edX AI courses with Udacitys agentic AI one. I dont really think a certificate helps as much as having a project to show when Im applying for new roles so leaning towards the ones thatll set me up to build something out I can show off to my next employer. Whats the move here?
