RS Issue 265

Back in the day, music mags like Kerrang, Creem, Circus & Rolling Stone introduced us to bands like Van Halen. FM radio was where we found out about upcoming concerts. Word of mouth didn't hurt either. Music was #1. Rock stars were treated like royalty.

Music seems like an afterthought these days.

I blame sampling and protools. And Taylor Swift.

Cassette collection

I'm listening to my cassettes again. Your enthusiasm is the reason why I got my cassette deck repaired. It sat for 20+ years before I finally took it in for repair.. When I got it home and plugged 'er in, it was like I was 17 again. To all that have brought the cassette culture back from the dead...thank you.

Call For The Priest

Side 2 of this album is monumental. Dissident Aggressor is Priest at their heaviest. Simon Phillip's drum work is beyond compare. I'd be interested to hear what you think? I know people really go for Painkiller, but give me Sin After Sin or Unleashed in the East any day.

3M/Scotch

Scotch tapes were one of my favorites during the heyday of the compact cassette. I'm not sure about this cheap plastic accessory though..

Bang and Olufsen

Any B & O fans? I see a lot of ads for their products in the 70s Rolling Stone mags I've been rifling through.

1979 Carlton Criterium

All original. Exception being the flat pedals. I noticed an identical example posted earlier today. Here's mine. Bought it last summer and couldn't be happier.
