Resonance Repair Co.

If you’re new to guitar, a proper setup can make a huge difference in how easy your guitar is to play.
I put together a video walking through a complete acoustic guitar setup — neck relief, nut height, action, saddle adjustment, fretwork, restringing and final play test.
Hopefully it helps anyone who’s thinking about learning to do some of this themselves.

The Complete Guitar Setup Guide: A Full Walkthrough

I’ve noticed that one of the biggest misconceptions among guitar players is what a professional setup actually includes. A lot of people think it’s just lowering the action, but there’s so much more involved—from neck relief and nut slot height to intonation, pickup height, and making sure the instrument plays its best as a complete system.

I recently put together a detailed guide explaining the entire process, including what each adjustment does, why it matters, and when it’s worth having a professional handle it.

I’m curious—what part of setting up a guitar do you find the most confusing or intimidating? Is it truss rod adjustments, intonation, action, or something else?

Case Confession #016: Hofner Ignition Series Bass.

Lightweight, thumpy, woody, and ridiculously fun to play. The pearl guard and control panel give it that classic ‘60s aesthetic, while the hollow body delivers that warm, blooming low end these basses are known for. Sweet bass!
