The Deep's ability to communicate with aquatic animals is incredible and the only time he used this properly was to locate Translucent's body and the Flight 37 footage. So he could definitely help locate planes and people that go missing at sea. He can also control marine life to do his bidding and possibly enhance their abilities as he made a sperm whale overtake the Boys' speedboat. On top of this, he's able to swim really fast and breathe underwater while also possessing the strength, reflexes and durability that a lot of supes have.
