Bourne Identity (2002)

Just rewatched this movie and forgot how mindblowingly good it was put together.

I remember watching this upon release and being completely amazed, I'd never seen anything like it before. As gen-x/millennial I was used to being served an action movie formula of exaggerated, high octane, explosive action that often sacrificed character development and/or a realistic plotline.

if you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it.

I ♥️ Barnsley

TL:DR - Relative newcomer to Barnsley who loves the area, the people and the excellent work the council has done in recent years.

I'm a newcomer to the area and my immediate feeling is that Barnsley folk are quick to self deprecate but I don't understand why?

I've been a 'tarn' resident for a good while now and fell in love with the place.

The people are warm & direct when talking to you, sometimes even brutally honest (which I prefer).

The town centre is massively underrated. The markets, glassworks and some of the newer developments are excellent. I particularly like the Market Kitchen, Dollys and the Cineworld Cinema.

The outskirt village/township are also great. Specifically I like Penistone, Hoyland and Wath for different reasons.

The hospital has helped my family through a couple of tricky times with nothing but genuine care and compassion.

The rural parts of Barnsley are stunning. The Barnsley tourist board have a wealth of beautiful attractions to promote.

And finally. I love the accent. It sounds nothing like anything immediately surrounding it. Unique, honest, endearing. If I have kids I hope they develop the accent.

Tinnitus & ADHD | Protect your ears folks

After an acutely stressful period combined with a sinus infection back in January, I developed awful tinnitus and it's not relented since.

There are dozens of scenarios that can cause tinnitus - earpod overuse, loud noises, poor ear hygiene, infections or stress. If you can avoid any of these, please do.

ADHD is making my tinnitus worse and my tinnitus is making my ADHD symptoms worse.

It's a vicious cycle and I pray for a miracle where I wake up one morning and I can enjoy the sound of silence.

Take care of your ears, hygiene and mental wellness peeps.

And if anyone overcome stress induced tinnitus, please share the miracle 🙌🏼

Garage Renovation | Inspiration Required

I have a bit of a blank mind about what to do with my double garage.

It's pretty spacious and I'm sure someone with a better imagination could think of some great designs to utilise the space.

The left side is pretty bare and the right has a mezzanine type level (essentially a big shelf) that's currently stacked with all our storage tubs etc. it's pretty stale - no heating/water, painted white breezeblock walls, bare concrete floor (unpainted) and also got electric sockets, lighting etc.

The loose ideas I've currently got, which are aligned to my lifestyle, are:

- Gym. A minimalist setup with a half rack, bench, weights/plates/kettlebells and a punchbag for some cardio.

- Wellness/Recovery. An extension of the gym, somewhere to do cold plunging (yes, I've become one of 'those guys') and maybe some stretching, yoga.

- Bikes. I'm into mountain bike riding so maybe there's cool setups to store your my mountain bike and have a small maintenance area.

- Games/Sports. I enjoy a chuck of darts, thought about putting a table tennis table in there.

- Auxiliary kitchen/utility. Even though it's detached from the house, perhaps a fridge freezer, kitchen worktop?

I'm not into mechanics so a workbench would be wasted on m, but do own some tools that could do with organising (unistrut?).

So, what would you do with the garage space?

I've been wondering this on and off for all of my young & adult but today I finally ask the question.

Was it a 'nod' to a bygone era?

Was it a creative decision he ran with?

Or, was it a strange, pointless gimmick that i'm overthinking?

I don't wanna be paralysed by fear all the time.

Crippled by self doubt, fear of rejection, burdened with lack of focus.

I want to have clear goals, but I don't even know what I truly want?

All I know is I want more financial freedom, a job that I love, better health, less anxiety and more wholesome time with my family. I want to experience true fulfilment.

Why does ADHD make it near impossible to be successful?
