Are Iyanden yellow for citadel and dreadnought yellow from Vallejo pretty much the same?
Hi there,
So I'm trying to get a vallejo dreadnought yellow paint equivalent from citadel, and from what I can see the closest one seems to be iyanden yellow.
Can you guys confirm that?
Thank you very much fellas !!!
Looking at American salaries makes me wish I was born in America despite being European
Hey there guys, French fellow over there, how are you doing?
It's not a rant, simply a conclusion I was led to. I understand that this subreddit is not necessarily a representation of what the average American makes, or even the average American lifestyle...but man, no matter how I look at it, America really looks like the place to be, all memes aside.
I'll take my example to illustrate what I mean : I'3 37, have a master's degree, am a product owner for a decent sized company in Bordeaux, and I make 52k euros a year / 60k dollars a year BEFORE taxes (which are huge in France).
Now that obviously doesn't sound like much, but that would put me in the 75th-80th earning percentile in France (yup). In France, that allows me to live relatively comfortably (nothing crazy AT ALL, mind you, I'm ok-ish)...in America, this would be poverty in a lot of places. The truth is, master's degrees are so common in France that I'm probably in a very decent place compared to tons of MA holders.
That being said, when I see the amount of people making 150-250-350k or more (sometimes much more) with professional degrees, I feel like I'd rather not try to cope and admit it : yes, quality of life matters, vacations matter, health matter, free personal time matters...but if I could trade my situation for a 200k a year earning individual in America, I'd do it in a second : at least you can save for retirement, actually build a life (especially if you have a partner making a good income), travel the world, do stuff yada yada...
Americans with professional degrees have real purchasing power compared to many of us Europeans (not taking into account the richest EU countries like Switzerland, Norway, Luxembourg, Denmark...and even there, Americans are probably wealthier)...and man does that probably feel good.
There, I admitted it : if there's something I'm jelly of it's your humongous salaries. Well done America, you win the game of life if we're talking economics xD.
Cheers.
Games Workshop will have no choice but to massively update datasheets and rules for several factions at this rate
So like many people on this subreddit, I assume, I just took a look at the last orks warhammer community rules reveal...and although I'm thrilled for the ork players (who've had a very rough time in 10th) and I genuinely believe that the entire thing i super exciting (massive buffs to ork rules, ghazz, proper psyker abilities indicating that it's going to be the same for other factions in the future etc etc)...well, one thing is clear : power creep is real, and it's about to happen SUPER soon in 11th edition.
On one hand, it's fun to have more powerful toys. One the other though, it's going to be incredibly frustrating for ALL the players who play factions that won't receive their codex before 2-2.5 years.
Points are one thing, but at some point you can't NOT change datasheets and rules (I'm looking at you : tyranids, chaos knights, world eaters, eldar, black templar, imperial agents, and many others). If Games Workshop doesn't take the powercreep highway for everyone involved in the hobby as soon as one faction starts standing out, then the only thing that will creep its way towards us is an insane lack of balance and a ridiculous amount of frustration.
Hopefully, they're going to see how much of a problem the entire thing is going to be, and have the courage to tackle this by changing all the datasheets and rules that need to be.
We'll see I guess, those are going to be interesting times.
Little advice fellas : Always have at least 3 different factions ready, this way you'll never be at the bottom of the meta
I know I'm really happy I did this honestly. I play aeldari, chaos knights and world eaters and...wait...
Nevermind guys, no one is safe xD.
What's going on with the Eldar faction right now?
It's clear that they've been struggling a lot (even before 11th edition)...but it's truly scary how much they seem to be lacking at the moment.
They got quite a decent amount of help the last dataslate (changing the dispositions of some detachments, bringing down a whole lot of units points-wise, mostly fixing seer council and warhost with strats clarification)...but despite all this :
-They're absolutely bottom tier at the moment with a 41% wr on average
-Their faction representation is at an all time low historically, I believe (even though they're supposed to be one of THE most popular factions in the game, at least for xenos)
-And, most importantly : no one is complaining about them xD (which is quite a rare thing)
So what did games workshop do...or didn't do, for them to be in such a sorry state?
The new nobz and bikes are absolutely gorgeous. Is more coming in the near future?
So as a newish ork player I'll admit that these new models are just absolutely awesome and stunning. Love 'em.
One question though : there was still a lot of discussions about burna boyz, lootas, storm boyz, flash gitz, deff dreads, killa cans, generic tanks etc etc on the subreddit...
Obviously it's impossible for all of these to get refreshed at the same time, it would be too much work in too little time. However, I still feel some of these are just way too old and need to be redone (the lootas are 23 years old for instance iirc)
So are the nobz and the bikes the last reveal as far as models go or can we expect way more soon, as part of the codex AND all along the duration of 10th edition?
Thank you.
Here's my World Eaters collection in 15 pictures. I hope you like them
I still have 2 defilers, 6 chaos spawns and one daemon prince of chaos on foot to paint though xD.
Enjoy lads.
Which factions need more than point changes to actually get back in the meta and become a real menace?
So it's been roughly 7-8 weeks since the beginning of 11th edition I believe? It seems like some factions, rules and datasheets-wise, were perfectly adjusted to this edition...while other just weren't at all, and are really suffering even with point cuts.
Right now, in your opinion, what factions need either datasheet changes, rules changes, a complete revamp, etc etc, to actually pose a threat to the better doing ones?

How do you currently feel about your favorite faction(s) in 11th edition? What’s working, and what isn’t?
11th edition has been out for almost two months now. It’s obviously still early, and a lot will change as the edition develops, but I think we’ve had enough time to form some proper first impressions.
So, how do you currently feel about the factions that you play? Which detachments are you enjoying? Which ones already feel underwhelming, badly designed or simply overshadowed by better options? Are your armies fun to play even when they aren’t especially strong, or do you feel like the current rules have pushed them away from what made you enjoy them in the first place?
I’m interested in more than just win rates here. Things like internal balance, unit variety, faction identity, list-building freedom and how enjoyable the army actually feels on the table matter just as much.
/discuss, thank you fellas ;-)
How many of you guys are struggling and could end up in a really bad situation, or even homeless, in a matter of months?
Hi there,
So this could sound like a very loaded question (apologies), but we always hear about TONS of people (a very sizeable part of society) who are struggling like hell to survive in society these days, despite having a job.
If I may ask : are you struggling right now, and close to finding yourself in a very bad spot?
Please answer truthfully, and tell us about you if you want to.
Thank you.
I can't find a way to make aspect host work :s
Hi there, Eldar player here (at the moment, as I'm trying to play other factions apart).
Since the dataslate, seer council has felt fine for the most part (not particularly strong but playable, which is ok). Warhost seems ok-ish too now, albeit a little on the weak-ish side, and definitely better thanks to the disposition change, but I doubt it's on par with seer council...still, you can make it work, which is something I guess.
However, no matter what I try, I just can't make aspect host (my favorite playstyle) work : fire dragons are too expensive and fragile for what they do and rely on a vehicule to function (contrarily to seer council and warhost). Dark reapers have exactly the same problem.
So at the end of the day the only thing I can think of is to spam cheap and fast aspect warriors units to play the mission as well as can be (2 units of 10 swooping hawks, lots of shining spears, banshees) and a few corsairs.
The issue is that, damage-wise, this kind of list just doesn't work at all and hits like a wet noodle. Even if you try to play the mission, there are TONS of situations where you meet a brick wall that you can't really go through due to this...and we all know what happens when eldar can't manoeuvre the way they want to : they get wiped in a single turn.
So, are there viable options for aspect host out there right now?
Thank you ;-)
How do you build a list for warhost and seer council at the moment?
Hi there,
So it seems pretty clear, post dataslate, that both detachments are the best at the moment.
Two questions :
-First : I'm trying to avoid old looking models (war walkers, fire prisms/falcons/wave serpents, farseers, old bikes etc etc), can I do othat, or should I proxy stuff?
-Second : how do I build for both warhost and seer council? What do good lists look like and how do they work? Can I make both work without the aforementioned old-ish models or can I make them work nonetheless?
-Third : Is aspect host just straight up worse atm? It certainly feels like this to me
Thank you !
Proxying my two farseers for my seer council list?
Yo fellas 👋 .
Dumb question : I'd like to play seer council + armored warhost (or path of the outcast), but that means I'm going to have to use two farseers with two units of 4 warlocks (conclave) for that to be worth it.
I really don't want to buy two 15 years old models farseers (which could be replaced in 5 years, who knows), so I was wondering if I can proxy them with :
-karseth
-the infinity's lament (originally a spiritseer)
And be done with it?
It's not for competitive torunaments anyways 😛
Thank you 🙏
nb : I also have the distinct feeling that path of the outcast with a few shroud runners and rangers is better, am I right?
Exodites 40k rules revealed
warhammer-community.comWhich struggling factions can’t be fixed with point cuts alone?
Hi there.
So obviously (as tradition oblliges with early editions), several factions are performing very badly right now, but I don’t think making their units cheaper automatically solves the real problem.
Some have tiny rosters, very limited list-building options and some pretty fundamental weaknesses in how they interact with 11th. At a certain point, cutting points just means putting more flawed units on the table.
So which struggling armies actually need rules changes, datasheet rewrites, new units or a complete rethink of their faction mechanics, and which ones genuinely just need points cuts?

What factions do you think are the most fun to face in 11th edition so far, and which ones feel the most boring / frustrating / depressing to deal with?
Just talking about the games / matches you've had so far in 11th edition : are there factions that you had a lot of fun against due to how interactive they are, or maybe fluffy, and others that you straight up can't really enjoy facing no matter what you do?
Obviously, the person you're fighting is very often one of the most (if not THE most) important factors here, as a decent and fair player will make even the worst match up feel significanty less of a chore, but trends exist for a reason.

My entire Chaos Knights collection so far : I hope you like them
Apologies for the messy files, the photos are not exactly the most organized they could be xD.
I hope we'll have a healthy edition so all of these can get their day in the sun, but we'll see I guess.
Enjoy friends ;-)
[H] Pro-painted / exposition level 2800 points chaos knights collection [W] 40k factions : show me your armies, make me a proposition, we'll see [Loc] France, Lyon
Hi there, I currently have 2800 points of chaos knights, beautifully and carefully painted by a pro painter.
I love them to death, and I've had the time of my life playing them in 10th edition, but I need a little change, so I'm thinking of trading them with a different faction.
Every knight is magnetized : meaning you can remove and adapt the loadout however you want (even the tyrant is magnetized properly, although you'll have to get the harpoon somewhere)
Show me what you got in the comments, and make me a proposition, thank you, I'm open to most factions (except world eaters and eldar who I already collect).
I'm particularly interested in : space marines of all sorts (but not fully dedicated melee space marines like blood angels, black templars etc though), necrons (recent models), chaos space marines, emperor's children, sisters of silence
I can also sell the whole army if you want it, for a better price than what it cost me, but it being an exposition level paintjob, it won't be cheap (just to be transparent).
Here are the 15 pictures, enjoy : https://imgur.com/a/gtwpMpS
Here's the verification screenshot : https://imgur.com/a/gDQdCHo
List :
-1 knight tyrant
-3 big knights (all loadouts magnetized and available)
-8 wardogs (all loadouts magnetized and available)
NB : it goes without saying that the paintjob of your own army must be at the very least decent as well
NB 2 : I already have eldar and world eaters as a faction.
Is it me or it's not worth taking kharn in a rhino with 10 berzerkers right now?
I may be doing something wrong, but between kharn killing his mates in a rhino now if you're unlucky with your Ld rolls, rhinos dealing potentially WAY more damage to their crew if they get shot down, and world eaters in general being way too expensive for what they do atm...I just feel like it's the first time when it's not worth taking him with the usual attached unit?
In fact, I have a lot of trouble finding any reason to bring berzerkers right now xD, which sounds weird I know.
Quite a destabilizing time to be a WE player for sure. Khorne Daemonkin sounds less headache provoking...but I can't say that I got into the faction to play a purely dedicated daemon army.
