Anyone ID more with a different sign than their sun sign?

So for me for example, my Sun sign is Cancer but then I have my Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Ascendant in Gemini. Which is why I chose the flair I chose lol. My Mercury in Gemini feels very prominent in my personality in particular. I'm a very chaotic and fast yapper lol, not to mention the way I operate at work (I love having a sort of messenger/deliverer role where I am supporting people with speed)

I also see this manifesting in my life as a difficulty of articulating my emotions as I was born while Mercury was in Retrograde. Curious if anyone else was born under Mercury in Retrograde too, and how that's worked for ya!

Anyways yeah with all these personal planets and my Ascendant in Gemini, I lowkey identify so much with Geminis it's not even funny.

Wondering if anyone else has this experience and how it plays out within your planets?

Edit - also I'm no pro, I just kind of pick up observations for myself personally from astrology. New to this sub and hopefully this is an ok first post for a hobbyist 🖤

My new zebra plant! Stepmom thought it was plastic

My stepmother had this plant for a year, she didn't even know if it was real or not she just kept watering it 💀💀

But when she showed it to me I pulled the roots out a bit and said yes it is real!! And she said well I'm tired of it so please take it. She's DONE with this plant hahahahah he catfished her for an entire year and she's actually irritated by it

So here he is in his new home! He'll get a bigger pot as soon as I can afford it, his roots are LARGE and strong. The strongest roots I have yet to encounter. I think he's ready to grow.

I swear my stepmother is magic when it comes to plants. She has a thriving outdoor garden and she didn't even know if this one was real?? And it was in a CLOSED GLASS CONTAINER with no grit and she still made it work for an entire year?? I literally think some of yall are just green thumbs at this point.

Anyways! He's got drainage now so don't worry about that, he has a nice perlite mix topped with rocks to avoid mold (if this is dumb lmk, I'm new) and hopefully enough sun. I will continue babying my succulents because lord knows I don't have that magic touch LOL. And yes i will be making the switch to unglazed ceramic pots ASAP. Plastic and glazed ceramic are what I have to work with right now, I should have done more research before buying but it is what it is. Waste not, want not!

I've been playing MakeRoom and I really love it! Good cozy building game [EST]

You make these little diaromas and trust me, the custom building options are pretty robust for the price tag we are working with here.

You can make custom objects quite easily as well as reshape existing ones to fit the space you need them in. And omg look at the lighting!! It's gorgeous, I might link a time-lapse video I did to show you the different lightings on the same diaromas, it's actually so pretty.

I have downloaded over 700 custom objects made by the community but even the base game furniture is adorable and has that juicy isometric feel to it that I was really craving.

Not sponsored lol I'm just absolutely obsessed with this game rn and by god I need to share it!

First pic is a stylized version of my bedroom :3

Second is based on a daily prompt of "pink, cluttered, gamer"

And third and fourth are these little gamer diaromas I got inspired to do based on some art I found on pinterest.

Lmk if you end up downloading the game because I wanna see what you make!

New setup thanks to advice from you all 🙏🏽🫶🏽

Everyone has been so helpful here. For context I made the huge mistake of buying store bought pre-made succulent soil mix instead of reading the wiki first and getting perlite. I came here for advice and I got it!! Not a single person was mean to me but yall did help me learn!! Thanks to whoever patiently linked the wiki entries, I felt like a goof for not going there first. They're chock full of basic info I should have already known before purchasing succulents.

Anyways the soil has been corrected, every pot now has a 60-40 perlite to soil mix, since I live in quite a humid area I wanted to add a bit more than 50-50. And every pot but my prop stage has been layered with rocks on top, I saw people do that and figure it cannot hurt since bottom watering was making my soil float as well as causing mold and rotting the bottom leaves of every plant.

First photo is my full bay area, many of these plants were kind of already dying when I got them from lowes so some of them ended up "disassembled" into props. For example, the strings of buttons are new and the tops were very etoliated (sp?) so I gave them a bit of a snip and am hoping to see the tops callous soon!

Second photo is my prop area, again it's got about a 60-40 perlite-soil mix without any rock topping because I really want to be able to watch the roots develop. Lmk if this is recommended or not, what your experience is, etc. I am new and experimenting tbh.

Third are my strings of buttons, my air plant that I have released from her terrarium (I didn't realize how bad the humidity and lack of airflow might be for her) and a mystery baby I managed to keep alive throughout this entire learning process. If you know who she is on the rightside, I'd love to know as well!

Thanks for all the advice, I hope this is really the start of an awesome new hobby. I've enjoyed taking care of these guys, particularly the air plant who has traveled across state lines with me. But I am also trying to be better!

An old poem/song that I wrote about my self harm scars. [TW: non graphic discussions of cutting]

Idk someone on another sub mentioned wanting their scars to be forever and it made me think of this poem I wrote and spray painted like seven years ago.

I don't think you should aspire to have permanent and prominent scars like I do. They're so much a part of my identity now and I'm tired of it.

I hate that some people are more worried about looks than how we feel for sure. That's not why I hate my scars.. my family and friends said some nasty things. One time a cop told me my arm looks like Swiss cheese (it literally doesn't because the scars are parallel but whatever bro. Yes this was over a decade ago and I'm still irritated. Lmao)

But also, I'm so tired of my scars. I want them gone but it's too late. They are permanent. At the same time, they're a part of me and I have to accept them. I have to accept all these bad memories on a daily basis. As I'm getting more spiritual I'm wondering if hurting myself like this and leaving these traces of self hatred was some sort of curse I put on myself. Not only on a spiritual level but now, every person I interact with who sees my arm categorizes me as unstable, and treats me as such. It's like I chose to brand myself and I can never take it back.

Anyways this isn't me tryna be toxic positivity sandy. Just wanted to share. And just say that I understand. And from my perspective, as an old cutter, it's not worth it. Get into rock climbing, I hear that can hurt a lot while also building a lot of body strength. I'm being genuine lol, get into a painful hobby. It's better than cutting.

Here's the poem:

Title: void.666

One hundred and forty scars as friends reside on my right sleeve

Ten years of dead tissue accompany me.

{Till the void do us part}

Well.. the moon and the stars and the sun all agree -

The earth is just nothing compared to the sea.

And maybe I will drown in self-loathing today -

But I can't help but feel that we're both here to stay.

{Till the void do us part}

[TW: RACISM] I ruminate on this way too much.

Yeah this happened two years ago, of course I reported it to the police like the little whiny bitch I am, and of course they ignored it because who cares about the only black girl in a red county in Ohio???? Hahahah

Uhh, I bought weed from him and ended up in the hospital with FENTANYL in my system, and when I confronted him he decided to tell me he would lycnh me 🫩 like dude, just say you cut your weed with fent and move on bruh

Anywayssss I literally hate him and got my Facebook account semi banned because I posted screenshots of him calling me the n word on his business page hahahhaah fuck him. Fuck YOU, LARRY.

oh the kicker is, he shares a name with my abusive dad. Yeah. Yeah..... yeah ....

Composite Blur gives a black screen

Just installed OBS on a new PC, never had issues with this plug in before so I am very bamboozled. Composite blur shows as a plug in, but as soon as I apply the filter to a source, the source blacks out.

I installed both OBS and the plug in manually straight from the site.

Originally I thought my issue was because I was running OBS via Steam so now am running directly on the PC. Another thing I believed was causing it was using the windows installer file, which is why this time I chose to install manually.

And it just keeps blacking out my sources... has anyone encountered this? At my wits end, I really depend on this plug-in so much.

Grateful for my girlfriend

This is the new PC she bought me :)

I'm so fucking grateful. Getting it all set up now.

She doesn't just buy me nice stuff, though. She is so kind and smart and sweet. She takes my silly hobbies seriously! We have the same taste in food, and god can she cook!! She really loves me and I really love her.

(And yes, before you ask - I have thanked her a million times and I will continue to do so!! I tell her every day how grateful I am for her just to be in my life, that'll never stop. She's my entire world and I'm hers. We both know I'll be proposing by the end of the year heheh)

About 3 months of growth on these succulent babes. Is it time to cut the original leaves and replant?

Hi all! Before reading and responding please understand that I'm very new to succulents and plants in general. All my information has come from YouTube up until now. Also if this is better suited to the succulents sub, please lmk.

I got a little succulent from lowes that was dying and decided to propagate all the leaves I could.. as you can see, I have 15 beautiful babies that have been growing for two months! Some even have multiple buds, which I'm excited to see! I was really hoping for those pretty little clusters.

My question is when to cut the parent leaves off.. on youtube I hear conflicting advice. Some people say to leave the babies until the parent leaf has completely dried out and fallen off naturally, while other people cut off the parent leaf around this stage or earlier. idk who to trust !!

Can anyone weigh in with what they personally do when propagating?

For the record, I have northeastern facing sun for my plants and there is nothing to be done about that. So I know I either need to be patient with them or buy a grow light. Also I cannot remember the species of succulent, that's totally my fault. I should have left myself a little note.

I am willing to be patient for sure, I just see a few that seem to have used up all the water in their parent leaves and was wondering what your thoughts would be. Would you leave them for now? Or will leaving them end up hurting the baby buds?

This was always meant to be a bit of a nursery pot for them. I have several other pots that I am eager to fill so I can clear this one for more new babies.. I don't want to wait too long, but I'm also nervous that it may be time for them to be moved.

Sorry if this is all over the place. Again, I'm so new to this stuff. Thank you for any help and advice.

Unusual work I found at the thrift store (not OC)

I cannot tell what the original purpose is for. Maybe there is no purpose, but everything about the design feels intentional so that is hard for me to believe.

It is a small brown vessel filled with blue feathers. The feathers are all obviously hand painted and glazed, and they all have a flat bottom to sit on, as if they were meant to be small pedestals or something.

But the brown vessel itself doesn't have a flat bottom. It wobbles a bit. The bottom is engraved with the following:

>Greetings from Mary Kay '73'

I have so many questions. Why did Mary Kay give all the feathers a foot, but not the main vessel itself? Maybe two different people collaborated on it together, as the brown vessel is very simply glazed while the feathers are artfully painted. If so, who were they to each other? Friends? A mentor and student?

Was there ever a purpose to this piece, or was it just for fun? The feathers are definitely meant to go with the vessel, they fit perfectly. Or maybe Mary Kay made two different projects that got thrown together when donated. So many questions I wish I could ask the artist/s.

I just wanted to share. It's not my own art so hopefully this is allowed, I just find it strange and unique, and I thought this sub might appreciate that. I immediately was drawn to it and I am very glad I brought it home with me. It's such a fascinating little piece of clay work.

Thank you, Mary Kay! Greetings to you, too! Your art is in safe hands now, more than 50 years later.

My stepmom accidentally validated my gf and me in a weird, roundabout way

So, my gf is trans and I'm non binary. I guess my stepmom got questions from a neighbor about my gfs gender (she does not pass since she's kind of a tomboy, it's ok she doesn't mind too much most of the time)

Anyways my stepmom just answered the neighbor's questions in such a sweet but dismissive way. The neighbor was like, "So is GF a girl or a boy? I just can't tell." And my stepmom said, "GF is just GF!"

The neighbor kept trying to ask but my stepmom knows this neighbor is a gossip so didn't want to share my gf's gender identity without her permission. So she just kept repeating "GF is just GF!"

(If you knew my stepmother and her cheerful disposition, you'd laugh imagining her saying this over and over lol)

After telling the story she told me that's truly how she sees us. Just as people she loves, not as a gender.

She's honestly kinda weird about this stuff a lot of times, like flat out stating she cannot use our preferred pronouns and stuff (she uses the excuse that english is her second language but I know she is smart and could do it if she wanted to lol. Eh.)

Hearing her say "You're just SL1MECORE to me" felt really validating tbh? Like hell yeah. That is exactly who I am. We can worry about the pronouns another day I guess.

Tldr: my stepmom cannot respect fucking pronouns if they don't align with her perception of someone, or my chosen name, but she still respects me in her own special way? And that's good enough for now, for me.

IDL fireworks. It's that time of year again for Americans.

Every fucking year people set off fireworks starting now and going until the fourth of July. I don't like them on the fourth but at least I am prepared for that. That's the one day I keep my mouth shut and try not to whine. But this random shit pisses me off. It's not even July yet you freaks.

I don't trust the average american to handle fireworks safely and I never have after an accident happened when I was little where I could have been seriously fucking injured if I hadn't ran away from the fireworks fast enough.

I don't like random fireworks displays without someone contacting the local fire department and having a safety plan in place. I don't like fireworks in general, but at least with those safety procedures in place on planned days like the fourth, I get it.

But it is NOT THE FOURTH OF JULY.

I reported these random fireworks last year and they basically told me to fuck off, there's nothing they'll do. I am not against sparklers and poppers btw, but I shouldn't be hearing the equivalent of gunfire two weeks before independence day. And you're not supposed to be using fireworks of this caliber in this neighborhood anyways but no-one cares.

I hate fireworks and I hate how much Americans love them.

[SPOILERS] Gf spray painted this today, inspired by my crashout last night on a different sub

Yo if I yelled at you last night I'm deadass sorry lmao, I got two comments in a row tryna say there's no unskippable sex scenes and I was already in a foul mood. My bad. But it was still kinda funny lol

Anyways. Now this is a saying in our household, I guess lmao

What are your thoughts ?

Inspired by recent events, the latest hooligan who decided to call Michelle Obama out her name, and the people who argue that he is not White thanks to his Mexican heritage

I mean, rn this meme is literally how I feel but. Open to nuance I guess!

I just think being White is a choice at a certain point. Having met people who denounced their "whiteness" and got in touch with their ACTUAL heritage (Scottish and Italian and all that shit, idk) I like them. I have more respect for them than the typical white person who still heavily identifies with this overarching made up category of Whiteness.

On the other hand, I see white passing people who wanna be White so fucking bad, but they wanna have their cake and eat it too. In certain contexts they'll play up the fact that they're not white, and in other contexts they're all about the fact that they ARE white. Just depends on how they feel they'll benefit from it. I'm not gonna stretch this post by providing examples but like, I have seen that shit.

And now I'm seeing people use that same rhetoric to play devils advocate about this racist man's words against Mrs Obama and I'm sick of it. I am tired of white passing people getting into the club, talking down on us, and then saying "oh but I'm not white!1!"

Btw I ain't saying this is all white passing people. I have white passing cousins who do not pull this shit. I know not every white passing person is a mess lol. But the ones that are? Oh boy. They are MESSY.

ANYWAYS. Open to thoughts. Curious to hear from unambiguously black ppl most of all, since yall bear the brunt of it all

(I'm light skinned, not white passing but also sometimes people don't think I am black, either.)

Peace~

IDL how some people treat online friends like NPCs or chatbots

Small example: I tried making a new friend from a discord server about a shared interest of ours. This person only messages me about their life. They have never once asked how my day was or any questions about myself. They send 2 minute long voice notes of themselves singing songs from musicals they never asked if I cared about.

I tried sharing initially, I tried connecting my own life to their stories and whatnot. But it always comes back to them and their day.

I feel like this person sees me as an NPC or a chatbot with the way they talk to me. Yesterday I even fed their messages into chatgpt for responses and they didn't even notice that my style of texting had completely changed. Lmao.

I'm just an NPC to them. I'm not hurt, just annoyed as fuck because I do my best to genuinely interact with people online and it's so rare to have that reciprocated.

Another example: joining a server where everyone just talks about themselves in general chat, but they never really interact with others. Some people just treat discord servers like their own personal diary. Guess what! You can make YOUR OWN SERVER BUDDY. You don't need to hog the chat and ignore everyone else and then expect interaction!

This is not everyone online, ofc. I have really great friends I've met online, some of the best people I've known. And without the internet, I never would have met them.

But some people really treat online interactions as if they're not actually talking to another human nowadays, and that fucking sucks.

I have no regrets and I hope you all get this same feeling regarding your own abusers.

He spent almost a year trauma dumping on me EVERY NIGHT about his childhood while not taking my advice to get on medicaid and get into therapy. He slept in my house rent free, no bills, and still had the nerve to call me a broke whore. This loser tried to punch me and cried when I punched him back!! He did weird things in bed that have traumatized me!!!

I didn't mean to, but one day logging into my phone which had his Facebook logged in, I found his messages with another girl. I fucking flipped. After months of putting up with his ass and giving him all my empathy and receiving nothing back, here he was making plans to meet up with another chick at work. Someone he swore up and down was just following him around. Oh she was 16, just the cherry on top.

So I went fucking nuclear. I went onto his Facebook and shared every traumatic story he told me about his life. I shared the fact that he says all his family are loser racists and he hates them (he called me the n word so yeah he's a racist too and clearly wasn't too bothered by it). I shared EVERYTHING.

One of his cousins tried to message me to argue and say I shouldn't be messing with her family and I said "really? Cause he says you're all white trash racists." And suddenly she backed down and said she doesn't even know him that well.

His mom, who had a hand in a lot of his childhood trauma and was embarrassed that I said so publicly, decided to kick him out. His entire family probably hates him now that they know he was talking shit about their kkk asses to get black pussy.

At first I was pathetic and I apologized specifically for outing him as a victim of abuse but now, after he called me the n word, after I've reflected on EVERYTHING he did... I wish I had done more lol.

And the other day I found his mugshot while doing my bi yearly cyberstalking. I literally went and celebrated it with my current gf!

I like to imagine his family disowned him after learning how he was airing their dirty laundry out to an n word like me. I like to imagine he's back on meth and living next to a dumpster on the verge of ODing.

I used to have so much empathy for him but he sucked me dry. So now, I smile when I think of him dealing with all the consequences of his unresolved childhood trauma. Just because he was abused doesn't mean he's not an abusive little shit who deserves to be outed as a pathological liar to everyone in his life.

Anyway idk I just needed to ramble. I get it, I'm toxic, not interested in hearing it lol.

I was so tired of being the bigger person after everything he did to me.

Sorrynotsorry but I support being awful to your abusers. Be so fucking awful to them that they are scared of you. There was one night he punched me and then literally ran away because he realized it didn't hurt and I was about to come back with more.

Be scary, it's fun.

I could not help myself from narrating this ridiculous comment on here! Sound on if you want a giggle lol

Username censored cause I am not trying to lose my account lmao. Also this comment was rightfully nuked by mods, and if reposting it with my narration doesn't count as something fun/funny then please nuke this post as well. No hard feelings, just didn't wanna bother yall with a modmail asking permission! (If I should have done that, lmk pls)

I just had to read this out loud, as someone who was divorced from my understanding of AAVE at a young age and is very *very* bitter about it. I have to laugh to avoid the pain of now watching white people attempt to speak my own language when my own black family didn't let me! (They aspired to whiteness. We are no contact.)

I know enough to read and understand AAVE, I just cannot write or speak it myself without sounding like a dumbass.. But I know enough to know this comment was absolutely grammatically incorrect within the structure of AAVE. Just forced shit. I just had to read it out loud and it's cracking me up lmao I hope it makes someone else laugh. One of my favorite past times is reading butchered AAVE out loud to compare it to fluent AAVE, and I like to think I am uniquely good at it lmaooo. It hurts, but it's cathartic?

For them, our language just means we're inarticulate in theirs. Hell, that is what my black family taught us (biracial, for context. White mom left me, in an ironic turn of events! So I grew up with my black father's family. Before you get excited, he's also a no contact contender. But at least his sisters raised me).

But they can't even speak our language, let alone the one they gatekept from us for centuries! Ain't it ironic?? It makes NO sense to me and now I cannot help but laugh lol

To the white lurkers: first of all, keep lurking and stop commenting if you wanna know so much about us! Looks like mods are willing to ban you and I'm not here to disagree with them one bit. Sometimes you don't need to have the floor. And if you're lurking because you wanna "learn" you better be planning on using all this info to better your own community and state for black americans!

Secondly, stop butchering AAVE in your attempts to ingratiate yourself with us! You either know it or you don't. It's not *just* bad grammar, as many of you seem to think it is.. and that within itself, is racist.

Sorry for the ramble. Enjoy my best White Man Attempting AAVE impression!
