Hi fellow LLS interpreters.

I’m a LLS Dubai interpreter and was wondering if there’s anyone else in here? :)

Currently I’m loving the combo of the fire truck and the talon weapon variant. Such a cool red fire truck combo

I love using the nullsector and the galaxy weapon variant too. Great purple together

I also enjoy mixing a bunch of epsorts skins I have with corresponding colors to the different weapon variants :)

I haven’t played OW since 2019 and started playing again 2 seasons ago and MAAAAAAANNN have I been enjoying sierra so so so so much. Currently I’m level 52 on her and I got the 2 skins and 2 weapon variant haha.

But what I’ve seen is that there’s almost no one that counters her and it’s so much fun (I’m gold 2 :P)

I’ve always had issues with genji as a bastion main, but with sierra whenever I face a genji and he starts deflecting I hit a tremor shock under him for a 100 and it’s so easy to finish him off. Same with mauga, I just avoid when he has the over health and tag him and he’s drained half of his health and the rest is not that hard. Oh and don’t get me started with a mercy,cat,pharah or an echo they’re immediately toast.

The left click SPECIALLY with the 2nd perk is literally why I wake up everyday and play her. She’s actually so much fun man I haven’t enjoyed and loved a hero this much in such a long time.

TBH idc for comp whatsoever unless it’s drives but I really really really hope she gets more cosmetics and cooler weapons designs and hopefully a mythic soon!

I had the worst experience yesterday when I went to go watch spider man with my family. We booked an evening slot and got some B row seats (second last).

Before the movie started people were chattering and tbh that’s fine cuz it’s stupid trailers playing anyways, but when the lights dimmed NO ONE STOPPED TALKING!

There were kids there, ofcs that’s not an issue at all bc it’s a Spider-Man movie but they were running around playing tag, yelling, moving from seat to seat and getting out of them when their people who booked it told them to get off of it, and their parents didn’t even tell them once to even sit down acting like it was a playground. Like at least have some decency to tell your kids there’s a time and place wtf?

Then there was this couple behind us with their bright ass flashlights on for 15 min arguing with these other people behind us bc they sat in their seats WHICH WERE NEXT TO THEM eg A1 A2 and A3 and A4 arguing loudly for a solid 10 mins after they moved over.

Btw a majority of people NEVER SHUT UP during every and every scene, just talking and talking and some tryna be funny saying loud words tryna get the audiences attention and reaction. Honestly one of the worst experiences I ever had at a theater in my life EVER.

Follow basic movie etiquette wtf?? Like stfu when a movie is playing wtf is so hard about being quiet for 2hrs that you have to ruin the immersion of the whole moments for?

There’s no issue if there’s cheering, clapping and screaming for epic scenes cuz I feel that too but acting like you’re at your some restaurant that’s just disrespectful behavior, oh and there was this ‘busy busy businessman’ that had his phone ring at max volume like 12 times and kept picking it up to talk mid movie. Why are people like this????

Just a refresher, it’s beyond hot this week and sadly it’s not going down🥲

I recently found a good deal at Lulu for a pack of one time use bowls for putting water in for the stray cats. They’re desperate in these times and we know cats regularly won’t be the best with water but it goes a long way.

So if you’re able to, help the local cats out, leave some water for them in the shade. You’ll get the best deeds from it and and Allah SWT will reward you for it❤️

I’ve seen over the years in my work that dadkeena if you ask them a question, whilst they heard you clear and sound they’ll reply back with that same question verbatim or alter it, instead of asking right away.

Eg.

Me:‘Miyad samaysay waxaas iyo waxaas?’

Person: ‘’waxaas iyo waxaas aa?’ Or ‘miyaad samaysay hee?’

I’ve often seen this occur in my line of work, EVEN when the other Somali person heard me loud and clear.

Why is that?

Hey I’m considering applying and giving it a shot, I meet all requirements but I do have an underbite, and I’m half black half white so I have huge 3C hair and wear it in a man bun mostly. Would I have to cut it off?

Title, does anyone know any animal enclosures or sanctuaries that are accepting any volunteers atm?

I’ve got in contact with one but they haven’t disclosed location with me and asked for a 120 annual volunteer fee…clearly doesn’t sit right.

I’ve worked 2 years with cheetah and dogs and I’m looking to help around any animal rescue/enclosure/sanctuary on the weekends to work towards my future goal.

I work as a legal interpreter, I’ve been in this field for many years now to say I’m well enough a professional.

I work in courtrooms and mainly with lawyers and their clients. The biggest issue I have is that our Somali people generally have selective hearing when it comes to almost everything…it’s been something I’ve been STRUGGLING with.

Eg. the Somali person is asked why they were speeding and why their registration wasn’t up to date. -they’ll immediately jump on the fact that they were not speeding and when they’re asked about the second part of the question they’ll usually reply back with ‘yaa’ or ‘registration maxay ah’

As an interpreter it’s so jarring having to constantly take 3x more for a simple question and answer.

Another thing which I’ve seen is that our people have literally NO idea btw the difference of being in makhaayad shaah and a courtroom…I had a guy ask me 3 times in a live zoom court hearing ‘maxaan ku dhahaa boowe i caawi dee soomaali maanad ahayn’ like bruh😭

Lastly, our people love to repeat the last word or part of the statement that you made as a question.

Eg. Me: maad qiratay inaad falkan samaysay?

Somali person: samaysay aa?

Interpreting this is honestly so draining man. Idk if any other interpreters have any experience lmk.

Hey ik maybe this isn’t the right subreddit to ask, but I was wondering any good anime merch/stuff stores that I could find some nice JJBA figurines/merch just the whole shabang.

Sure online sounds easier but I’d like an in person store if anyone knows since I’m new here lol.
