Need advice of where to put decorative wall.

I am a total newbiie to this!!! The first 2 photos are my living room as is. The next are just general ideas of what it would look like if I moved the owl painting to do a feature wall behind the sofa, or if I left it in place and did the feature wall by the window. Just a general idea of course of what the actual feature wall would look like because I want to cover all the open space of each wall.

I told my MIL 2 - 4 pellets of food only.

I went on vacation for 10 days and trusted my MIL to feed my kids betta. She visited 3x and I told her he would be OK with 2 - 4 pellets throughout her visit to water the garden, trees, and indoor/outdoor plants. Husband is trying to say it is algae. There is no way that is not betta pellets!

Im really going to miss Turbo

My Mystery Snail Turbo died today. I made him a little box with flowers, quartz, and a seashell. I am going to bury him in the forest tomorrow with a little marker stone I made. I am pretty sure my husband thinks it is excessive, but I am sure that people here will understand.

Husband sucks the joy out of life

So for years my husband has talked about getting a particular BBQ. A very expensive one. I have some inheritanxe money that was left to my when my dad passed and I saw it for a good price at Costco. And by good I still mean $1000. My daughter and I decided it would be an amazing fathers day gift. So I got help loading it into my vehicle and had a neighbor help me get it out. My daughter and I have kept it secret for over a week in the garage while he was away working and stayed up really late wrapping it last night. He got home super early this morning and my daughter and I are on egg shells waiting for him to discover it. He does and immediately guessed what it was. He joked that he will open it on father's day next Sunday and I was like no way! I want my parking spot back. The hitch is he doesn't even seem excited. I feel like I was more excited to buy it for him than he is getting it. Over an hour after discovery he still hadn't asked about opening it. No hug or kiss. No OMG I can't believe you!! Anyway, my daughter had a play date planned and they dropped off early and we were all in the kitchen. I asked if he wants to open it and he says not while daughters friend is here. At this point I am hurting deep. Like this man couldn't give a fuck. I say why? And he says its less special with her here. I said I don't think it is. In a sparky tone he said "well I do, so" and walks away. A few minutes later he comes upstairs and starts talking to me and I half snap. Tell him his reaction was harsh and hurts my feelings. That he isn't even excited. We argue about it and he leaves. This is just an example of how things constantly feel in my marriage. I try so hard and I feel like all my efforts are rewarded with criticism ot neglect. I swept the garage..ugh he uses the shop vac because he doesn't want dust on his sports car. I found this great tent on sale..we'll it isn't the tent he wants. Etc. Etc. What would you do in my circumstances?

Tl;dr

What would you do in the face of a partner who never shows gratitude. To the point the joy you feel when doing kind things is sucked out of you?

College student who needs advice on difficult group member

HI! I need advice. I am working on a group project, a slideshow, that has a maximum of 10 minutes. There are 5 members and we got 2 slides each, so that would equal a minute per slide. I took responsibility for uploading the file and I noticed some of the members exceeded their time. It is due tomorrow. One member used over 3 minutes for one of her slides, and almost 2 minutes on another. I messaged the group to remind everyone that there is a time limit and our project is already exceeding it and some members still need to add audio. I got a response from the girl who took up most of the time stating that we won't lose marks and that she says she tried to make it as short as possible and will not be making changes. I replied saying that the instructions are clear so the group will likely lose marks. She has not responded. Should I message the professor to inform her that they are not cooperating? Or let it play out and message after if we lose marks? I recommended to the group we try to stick to the 3x5 rule for slides (3 bullets with 5 words each) to avoid this at the start and she pushed back very hard. IDK what to do.

AIO for being angry that my husband got my kid to wake me up to clean up cat vomit? (Hairball)

So this morning, I heard my daughter come upstairs and go into the guest room to wake my husband up.He was sleeping in there because my daughter (6y/o) and I are quite sick, and he snores heavily, so I wouldn't get a good sleep. She was saying something about she thinks the cat pooped on the hardwood floor. I heard them talking and my husband confirming it wasn't the carpet, yes the hardwood floor. Then I hear..its my sleep in go get mom. WTF?? I am sick as hell, not to mention the cat vomited up a hairball on our couch about a week ago and when I went to clean it with the carpet cleaner I ended up doing all the cushions on both couches, for good measure Took over an hour! So in she comes to get me. I went down. Cleaned it up. Put on cartoons for her and went back to sleep. When we were both up I confronted him and demanded why he told her to wake my sick ass up to clean up after the cat? He was like oh, it didn't even register honestly that you were sick. I just wanted to sleep. And I didn't?? I told him it should have been his turn after I had to deep clean our couch last time. He acted all sheepish and was like ya sorry. I am pissed. AIO?

WIBTA if I gave a gift I bought for a birthday party to a different kid?

Hi all. So my 6yo daughter was supposed to go to a birthday party on Saturday that we rsvp'd for a while back. Unfortunately, we all got very sick I and ended up keeping her home from the party. Nobody wants the gift of strep throat tor their 7th birthday! I had told the mom in advance about the gift I picked out as well. We also have another party next weekend if my child is recovered. WIBTA if I gave the gift to that kid instead? Am I still expected to give it to the first child who's party we missed?

update. I will contact the mom and offer to drop off the gift.

Also for clarity. I did not specifically buy the gift for her. We are not well off financially so I usually buy gifts in advance that are on sale for 40%-50% off and I store them in my closet for the future That was we can give what I hope will be a meaningful gift. In this case it is a Disney doll that was on for half price. when I told the mom the gift I picked it was because I asked which toys I had would be suitable and she said "I think she will like this one". Thank you for your feedback. Like I said I will offer to drop off the gift when we are all feeling better. The reason I was thinking of giving it to the other kid is because it is one of the nicer items I have been able to aquire.

Cheers ♥️

This chunk of hard plastic I found in my bits and bites

I poured the last handful of the bag into a bowl and when I got to the crumbs I found this sharp, hard piece of plastic in the bottom.

Happy Snails first sand

After a gross algae bloom I finally change d my tank pebbles to sand. This is the first time my snails have experienced it. Turbo (mystery) instantly build a sand castle 🤣 And Blazewing (nerite) buried himself in the sand by my plant. Happy Duo.

Front tooth keeps chipping!

I had my front tooth bonded, because it turned yellow after an impact.and it lasted about 2 years. Then, about 4 weeks ago, it chipped on the inner corner when I was chewing my nails (I KNOW, BAD! I blame exam stress). i had it repaired and it chipped off again in minutes after I got home and flossed. I went right back the the dentist fixed it again. That was 2 weeks ago and it just happened again! I was eating an apple and it chipped! What do I do??? My back teeth do not grind against it. Now it is sharp enough to cut my lips/tongue. It isn't really visible becauseits on the backside of the tooth. I wonder if having my dentist grind my front teeth a tiny bit to round them out a bit rather than continuing to deal with the chipping?

At what point do I start considering having her front teeth extracted? One of the front teeth has a bit of a wiggle but hasn't gotten any looser for a few months. Our dentist said they will eventually just push out when we took her in a few months ago but we haven't seen any progress. I had a similar issue as a kid and required serious dental work and braces as a teenager.

How do I help instill a sense of determination in my daughter. Ever since she was a baby she has had no patience for anything difficult. As soon as something feels hard she gives up no matter how much support I provide. She will say this is too hard and get very upset. And if you push her to do it anyway it just makes it worse. Is this just her personality? Or can I help instill some resiliency in her?

Has anyone else had troubles with this person? They have tried to push me into general studies multiple times and in my first year recommended classes that would not have counted towards my chosen path. Other students in my year have the same problem with being pushed away major/minor paths they want to pursue with recommendationsfor general studies. This person also gives wrong information about sections to register in and doesn't listen to students questions properly..not just my experience. I was told the path I want doesn't exist..it does and I have proven it. Just wondering if this is isolated to my group of students or if it is more systemic?

So I was feeding Turbo homemade snello but it was making my tank gross even when I took it out after 8-12 hours. I also feed him algae pellets. I bought expensive snail food from Kats aquatic with Calcium but he wouldn't touch it. Now he is ignoring the algae pellets too. I have tried cucumber, carrots, and zucchini. Ignores them all. I am afraid he will starve. He did start eating my plant luckily. What are foods that snails can't resist?
