Should I take them back? Ask for them to be cleaned or refunded? Try cleaning it myself? What’s the best course of action.
There's this mutual bank (similar-ish to a credit union in that it's owned by it's account holders rather then shareholders) Gate City Bank that's opened some branches in my general vicinity over the past decade or so. Never paid much attention to them but started looking at their website and they reimburse up to $250 worth of ATM fees per year on their free checking account, and they do it after the transaction posts rather than waiting until the end of the month/statement period.
Also I went through their website and fine print with a fine tooth comb and there's no requirements you need to meet to get the ATM refunds. No direct depositing XXX amount every month and needing to make numerous debit card transactions or anything.
There's online banks like Charles Schwab that offer unlimited ATM refunds, but they have no bank branches. I know some online banks like Ally you can now deposit cash but Charles Schwab you definitely can't deposit cash.
I hope they sell well and continue to get made. I know the sour cream & dill Dutch crunch sell extremely well.
It is quite amusing reading from numerous other folks though how you must never charge it beyond 80%, never let it drain below 20%, must drain the battery every X amount of weeks, bring up ridiculous conspiracy theories how Apple engineers are malicious and programs their batteries to prematurely die and the solution? Download potentially sketchy third party software and mess with the settings yourself that no average person is even going to know what they're even messing with to "fix" it, all while voiding your warranty.
Here I am I'll leave it plugged in for days at a time, then drain it below 10% numerous days in a row. Other times I'll unplug it then randomly plug it back in at 90% for no reason. Close the lid when I go to bed with the battery at 15% and leave it like that until the next day. Basically every thing the "experts" claim you shouldn't do I have done and routinely do on a daily basis and it took nearly an entire year just to drop down from 100% to 99%.
And in 10-15 years from now when the battery may be anywhere from 75-85% capacity left and I get a new MacBook, this one will go to some E-waste dump or I'll trade it in and I'll never see it again and be glad I didn't stress myself or lose even one second of sleep over worrying about the battery on a daily basis like so many of you other people do.
I've been watching some videos from a vacuum technician on YouTube and keep hearing him say, along with numerous comments in the comment section, how these are $2000-$3000+ vacuum cleaners. But as long as they been selling them online in recent years, they were only $1500 regular price and only recently went up to $2000 as the new regular price. Although much like shopping at Kohl's or JCPenney, they're frequently "on sale" for as low as $999.
Were the high pressure door to door sales people back in the day really asking for $3000+ for them decades ago?
There are six different brands available to rent. Haynes, Armstrong, Pearl, Jupiter, Yamaha, Selmer. All same cost as choosing a specific brand doesn't affect the cost of the rental contract. I'm an adult male in my 30's (Unusual demographic to start playing flute, I know I know...)
I'm already familiar with Yamaha (Who isn't???) and also Jupiter. Jupiter is out as I see no reason to choose to rent a Jupiter over a Yamaha for literally exactly the same price as Jupiter is a lower end and a cheaper/bargain brand.
I know of Selmer as a company but literally couldn't tell you anything about the quality of any of their instruments and I never heard of Pearl, Armstrong or Haynes.
Not sure if it comes with additional hard floor attachment but it has brush roll shut off. And there was no sales tax and free shipping.
Should have gotten the teriyaki chicken over the orange chicken to make it more healthy but oh well, that orange chicken is so gosh dang good as well!
Wisconsin has an abundance of credit unions, as well as a really rich history of credit unions operating in the state as well as a credit union friendly culture that allows so many credit unions to have originated here and continue to thrive today. Which one is your favorite and/or do you bank with? And do you have any negative experiences with any of them that's worth sharing?
I've listed the top 15 largest in terms of their assets as of early 2026. Your favorite does not have to be one of the top 15 largest ones.
I love all the herbal ones too like cherry blossom and hibiscus! 🌺
I've always just listed my most recent account I've opened and never thought twice about it, but this bank asked for all your accounts. But theres no way I could fit 12 different accounts on the line they provide on the online application. Wanted to know how other churners and DoctorOfCredit readers handle it.
Would’ve bought Crocs a long time ago if I had known that they felt this amazing and if I didn’t refuse to try them on back in the day out of spite because I was previously so prejudiced thinking they were ugly and hideous when I was younger. Fortunately as I get older I have a completely different mindset and much more mature attitude now since I'm in my mid-30s compared to back in the day when I was in my teens and twenties.
Had no idea actual Crocs would be so much more amazing than the knockoffs. If you have an off brand pair of Crocs and love them, try the real thing! I guarantee it'll be even better!!!
Have been looking for a Made in Japan micom/fuzzy logic rice cooker and came across this tiger on Amazon.Think I'm going to be a guinea pig and pull the plug and buy it. At first I saw the Japanese writing on the front and thought it was some import thing. And I didn't see Made in Japan clearly on the front like other Zojirushi and Tiger rice cookers which usually isn't a good sign, but it is clearly listed on the sticker on the back you can see and also on Tiger's YouTube video for it clearly says it's made in Japan. I also see photos of the bowl with 1/2 cup lines clearly marked.
It's only been on Amazon since the end of April, roughly a month/4 weeks. No reviews. Tiger's YouTube video on it was only uploaded 4 weeks ago too.
It doesn't even show up on Tiger's website under rice cookers, had to find Tiger's official page on it via Google. Also no Spare Parts for this model yet on Tiger's online store either, it doesn't show up.
Sadly all the 3 cup Zojirushi micom/fuzzy logic models are NOT made in Japan. Only 3 cup made in Japan model I've seen is this IH Induction one which is $300+ which sadly is over my budget.

Have a 7 year fraud alert on all three credit bureaus and keep them frozen. Also froze ChexSystems but lost the PIN to unfreeze and only want get a new one is have it mailed.
Applied online for a local credit union checking and savings. After applying check my ChexSystems online account and see the pull attempted.
Day after I apply I get a hard pull on equifax. Days later an email asking me to call or come in. I call and he asks me lexis Nexis security questions and says nothing about ChexSystems. Then says because of the fraud alert I’ll have to come in to the branch and bring an ID and sign a form stating it’s me opening the account. I’m happy to do that and very happy with their fraud alert protocols they have. Nothing on the phone was said about ChexSystems. I did request a new pin from Chex but it hasn’t arrived yet. What’s the chance they bring it up at the branch or tell me it’s required to unfreeze to proceed?
This is a pretty small credit union. Less than $300 million in assets, 2 branches and only around 15,000 members.
