what straight fluoro lb test for 1/8th oz jigs?

So I'm trying to sort of power-bfs with a light rod for smaller (3-6lb) bass, spotted tilapia, chichlids etc in canals near where I live. this is a place where there's a lot of weeds, jagged rocks, etc.

i heard 6lb fluoro is great for 1/8 oz and 1/16 oz jigheads, so I tried that first but I genuinely felt like my line was about to snap when I got caught on some weeds a couple times. plus I was worried that if I did end up catching a big bass it would snap the line.

then I tried 8lb and it genuinely felt so much better and I never even got close to a birdnest but i feel like it kinda cut into my casting distance for the 1/8th jig, idk if I'm imagining it or what but I felt like I definitely lost some distance with it.

so all that to ask, is 6lbs straight fluoro really the best for my purposes? or should I stick to 8? or maybe just middle ground 7? I don't want to waste more money on spools lol!

does anyone else use straight fluoro for the same thing? any advice or tips?

before you say it, Im really not fond of braid with leader, I'm really REALLY liking straight fluoro to the point where I'm considering changing out my regular baitcaster setup to run straight fluoro lol.

Looking for a dual tip M/ML casting rod. anyone know of one?

what the title says basically, I've been dying to buy a seasir dark dragon rod because it comes with medium and medium light tips which is EXACTLY what I need, but apparently the casting version of that rod is sold out everywhere and hasn't been in stock for a while. only the spinning version remains and I don't use spinning reels.

there's a rebadge of the same rod by rollfish on aliex but it only comes with medium / medium heavy tips and not medium light.

so anyone got any suggestions/recommendations for a medium/medium light rod, if there are any?

pistol grip / short handle light rod recommendations?

looking for a light fast rod around 5"6' to 6" to pair with my gravity bf-avid! I know short handles are a niche preference but I cast so much more accurately and further with short grip rods than with longer butt rods. plus I'm already used to it for my regular baitcasting setup and I don't want to confuse the muscle memory lol.

so far I'm looking at the mavellos delicacy, the handing magic L, and the purelure telescopic fuji, but if there are any I missed please suggest them!

honestly the magic L's handle looks perfect for me but everyone I see mention it says it snaps at some point, either sooner or later and even Amazon warns that it has a high number of returns. is it even possible to switch out the blank and reuse the handle with another blank on this model? because I would instantly buy it if that's the case

the mavellos delicacy seems too good to be true, especially for the price. it claims it can do 0.8g-10g lures on the light tip and 0.5g-8g on the ultralight tip? this would outclass the magic L since it can do 2g-8gr only. for half the price idk if I believe it! anyone got any experience with this?

should bfs rod lengths be shorter or longer than normal baitcaster rods?

hey all! just bought the gravity avid reel and it's coming in this weekend.

I already have some idea of what rods I like but I wanted to ask, should BFS light or ultralight rods be shorter or longer than traditional baitcasting rods? I have a 6ft10in MH fast rod I'm super comfortable and used to casting with on a normal baitcasting setup, but when I look at rods for bfs I see them start at 4ft 10in - 5ft 6in, and 6ft or 7ft is the length limit for some of the ones I like.

so based on that, is it normal to use shorter rods compared to normal casting rod setups? as in, is it easier to cast just as far with say a 5"6' or 6ft UL rod due to the whippiness of it compared to a 6"10' MH rod if I plan to use 2gr-8gr lures/jigs? I usually fish freshwater canals and lakes so I don't need a crazy amount of distance.

should I get a DK100, Ark gravity avid, Silver rhino or seasir zero119

what the title says. I got about $150 budget right now for a bfs reel coming from my power bfs reel (anatono Starfall DC) and I need something to cast a lot lighter lures and jigs, mostly around 1gr~

what would be the best option out of the box for the price? I really like the look and quality of the dk100 but I hear a lot of people saying it's not actually that good for super light lures out of the box unless you upgrade some stuff which I'm not looking to do.

the ark gravity seems really cool but I don't really hear too much about it besides some YouTube hype men who hype everything up as the next best budget bfs reel.

the seasir zero119 seems to be a good quality upgrade from the zero zx and there's a few YouTube short videos of foreign people throwing micro jigs pretty far with ease but I don't really hear anyone else talk about it review them

the silver rhino is a fraction of my budget but I hear it get talked about so much as a good and reliable reel I can't help but consider it and then just put the extra money from my budget into a better bfs rod or more lures for general fishing lol.

can someone help me decide? especially the dk100, which I love the look of, I really want to know how good it is out of the box with 1gram jigs
