Gaming laptop owners: how easy is it to avail of warranty and/or repairs here in the Philippines?

Context: I've gathered parts for a SFFPC build. However, my needs/use case scenario has changed and it may not be so viable for me anymore. Instead, a gaming laptop might suit my needs better.

However, my main concern with gaming laptops is whether availing of warranty and/or repairs in the Philippines is seamless, or if I'd just end up frustrated and shelling out more cash. From what I understand, gaming laptops have specialized parts that you can't really buy elsewhere but from the actual supplier. Are gaming laptops these days built to last, anyway? I fear buying a gaming laptop only for it to end up as e-waste in 3-5 years.

Thanks to anyone who can provide their insights!

EDIT: To be more specific, I'm looking to buy the best I can get for under Php200k (since that's more or less what my planned SFF build will amount to). From my initial search, it's either the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i or the ROG Zephyrus G14 (maybe G16).

eBay authenticity guarantee for sequential sets. Do they check both?

I’m looking to buy a sequential pair (ex. Pika A and Pika B) which has the blue check mark. Will the guarantor check both slabs, or just what’s listed first in the title? Ex. “Pika A and Pika B sequential set,” so will it just be Pika A? What if mention of Pika B is omitted, ex. “Pika sequential set PSA10”?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

[SEEKING ADVICE ONLY - NOT buying/selling/trading/seeking evaluation] Best way to go about unloading new, unused parts?

To the Mods: I'm not shrouding this as a way to advertise or sell, I just really need advice since my priorities changed.

Context: I gathered parts over the last 2/3 months for a high end SFF build since I would be away from my main rig for long periods of time in a month. I bought each component from different sources (Shopee, DataBlitz, Hardware Sugar, etc.) I've been waiting for a restock of a specific case, but it's been severely delayed, and thus so has my plan of this new SFF PC.

However, my plans to move around ramped up (~twice a week instead of twice/thrice a month) and a gaming laptop would now fit my needs better. So I don't need to finish this build anymore.

That said, is it better to just offload each piece one by one, or should I package it? How do I go about the warranties too? I have the receipt for each, so do I just hand it over to them and let them deal with it? The latter is my main concern, honestly, especially for those I bought over Shopee. Last thing I want is for someone to scam me out of these high end parts.

Thanks to anyone who can provide me some insights. Again, I am not looking to break the rules of this subreddit.

Need help configuring my set-up. I have 2 ethernet cables and 2 TP Link WiFi Decos. Can I have 2 different and separate WiFi Networks (one each)?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to seek help, but I've been at this all day and I'm tired stressing over it. I tried posting in r/InternetPH but it keeps getting auto deleted huhu.

- My router is located in the second floor (PLDT provided GPON ONU HG8143F). I have 2 ethernet cables attached to it: one for the first floor and another for my second floor room.

- I have an existing network of 3 TP Link Deco M5. The main M5 is connected to the router via the first floor ethernet cable.

- I bought a new TP Link Deco X60 since my room in the second floor is a WiFi dead spot, and my partner needs it. The ethernet cable in my room is currently connected directly from the router to my gaming PC.

- I connected said cable instead to the X60, and will then use another cable to connect my PC to the X60.

- In the TP Link App, I created a new network for the X60 rather than adding it to the existing M5 network. So now it has its own SSID, password, and MAC address.

- When I checked ‘Advanced’, the ‘Operation Mode’ for both the M5 and the X60 are set as ‘Wi-Fi Router’.

My question is: am I going to run into a potential conflict here considering that I now have 2 separate main networks (old M5 network and new X60 network)? Or will everything be nice and dandy? Should I change any of my settings?

I’m not well-versed with this and I really don’t want any issues with our internet connection since a lot of people at home are working around the clock and rely on it heavily. I’m learning as I go along.

Thank you to anyone who can help!

P.S.

Not sure if this is relevant but my X60 also as a ‘WAN Port’ setting (enabled) which my M5 does not have. My X60 also has ‘IPTV/VLAN’ (disabled) and ‘static routing’ (disabled), while the M5 only has ‘VLAN’ (disabled). Not sure what these are, but thought to mention them.

TP Link Deco M5 and X60: does it matter which is connected to the router?

I have the older TP Link Deco M5 and the newer X60. Does it matter which of the two is connected to my main router? Will the M5 end up throttling my internet speed?

I’ll be placing the other one in my room.

USD125 budget for a TP Link WiFi Deco. X50, X60, BE25, or BE5000?

My room is a bit of a deadspot, so I figured a TP Link WiFi Deco would do the job. Eventually, I'll bring it to an apartment where I intend to have the Deco pick up signal from the main router, then using a LAN cable hook up a console and/or PC to the Deco. That should work, right?

  • Main use is streaming/downloading (Netflix, YouTube, etc.)
  • For the apartment, gaming will also be a consideration (as mentioned, I intend to hook up a console/PC to a projector/TV; so it will be deco -> console/PC via LAN cable -> projector/TV).

I was looking at the following, since they fit my budget (and since they were the first to pop up too):

  • TP Link Deco X50 AX3000 Whole Home Mesh AI Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Router
  • TP-Link Deco X60 AX5400 MU-MIMO Whole Home AI-Driven Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System
  • TP-Link Deco BE25 5Gbps (BE5000) WIFI 7 Home Mesh System with Dual Band 5GHz / 2.4GHz Bandwidth
  • TP-Link Deco 7 BE5000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System Dual-Band 5Gbps

Which ones would you guys recommend? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Help me decide my first projector part 3: BenQ TK705STi vs BenQ TK710STi

I've been going back and forth still about my first projector purchase. I was initially comparing the BenQ TK705STi with the Epson EF-72, and then the TK705STi with the TK700 after finding a retailer here.

Now, I chanced upon another retailer who is offering the TK710STi. That said, which is better between the BenQ TK705STi and TK710STi given raw specs/latest tech/components and my use case scenario?

  • This would be my first ever projector, so I have no prior experience with this kind of tech. Raw specs wise, which would be the best bang for my buck?
  • It will mainly be for an apartment living room (2.4m wall to wall). There's some day/afternoon light that gets in even when curtains are drawn, but nothing offensive.
  • Both seem compact, but I'd like something that isn't a hurdle or you'd have to constantly move around/over on.
  • Portability (room to room, maybe to another house 3-5 times a month) and ease of set-up are important, though not a make-or-break. On that note, durability (and I suppose ease of cleaning) in case of travels are things I consider too.
  • I don't have a home theater set up, so I will mostly be relying on the built-in speakers (though I could hook up a pair of portable speakers).
  • First main use would be streaming (ex. Netflix) or movies (via Laptop/PC or a USB drive). My partner doesn't really play games (only occasionally with me) and I don't always have gaming guests over, so this takes the cake.
  • Second main use is gaming (PC, Switch 2, Steam Deck). From what I read, the TK705STi only has a max refresh rate of 60hz. So I'll likely avoid FPS/competitive titles if I go that route. Though am I right in assuming it's good for anything else (ex. RPGs)? I've been used to higher refresh rate monitors, so I'm feeling iffy about 60hz. But if it's more up-to-date specs wise over the TK710STi, then that's something I strongly consider.

Thank you to anyone who can chime in!

[Question][Longines Pilot Majetek] Is it safe to apply alcohol on AR coated sapphire crystal?

I was gifted a Longines Pilot Majetek and it means the world to me. I've been taking great care of it, until today when I accidentally sneezed on it. To remove any bacteria and unpleasant smells, I put some rubbing alcohol on a piece of tissue and wiped down the case. I ended up wiping the sapphire crystal too. It slipped my mind to just use water on a napkin or something.

That said, did I just end up damaging my precious watch? How do I know if the AR coating has been compromised? Anything I can do to tend to it?

I know it may sound silly and paranoid to some, but this watch really means so much to me and hope you guys can understand and help out.

Thank you!

Help me decide my first projector: BenQ TK705STi vs. Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus EF-72

I've been going back and forth non-stop between these 2 that it makes my head hurt. I was hoping for a fresh opinion/fresh pair of eyes to spruce things up since I think I've been stuck in my own echo chamber. (EDIT) There aren't many options available where I am from, and from my search it seems like these are the best I've got to choose from. Here are some notes/considerations:

  • This would be my first ever projector, so I have no prior experience with this kind of tech. Raw specs wise, which would be the best bang for my buck?
  • It will mainly be for an apartment living room (2.4m wall to wall). There's some day/afternoon light that gets in even when curtains are drawn, but nothing offensive.
  • Both seem compact, but I'd like something that isn't a hurdle or you'd have to constantly move around/over on.

  • First main use would be streaming (ex. Netflix) or movies (via Laptop/PC or a USB drive).
  • Second main use is gaming (PC, Switch 2, Steam Deck). From what I read, however, these models only have a max refresh rate of 60hz which is a huge bummer. So I'll likely avoid FPS/competitive titles, but how good are these projectors for anything else (ex. RPGs)? I've been used to higher refresh rate monitors, so I'm feeling iffy about 60hz.

Really would appreciate any opinions on these 2 projectors. Thank you to anyone who can help!
